If those schools end up in the Big XII, I wouldn't be surprised to see Stanford and Cal eventually wind up in the Big Ten. Stanford is one of the top academic institutions in the country and has a decent sports program. Pair that with bringing  in the Bay Area market, and it makes for a pretty appealing addition to now having the LA market. Cal would work as a "travel partner" school for Stanford and the LA schools.

Stanford would be a good way to possibly draw in Notre Dame, and of course the school has the academic reputation. Cal is great academically as well but I don't see them really adding anything of value.

"Can the Big Ten improve its West Division?"
Big Ten: "Oh, just you watch."

You can't beat a Rutgers night game in volleyball, basketball, tennis, softball, baseball, etc. at UCLA on a Wednesday...10:00 PM local.

What's next for the Big Ten? Gonna grab Washington, Oregon, New Mexico, Montana State, Colorado College of Mines, Middle Tennessee State, Miami (FL), Miami (OH), Rhode Island School of Design, the Detroit Lions, Northwest Louisiana State (but only if it exists), Georgia Tech, and Coastal Carolina.

It's time to bring U. Chicago back.

LOL, I see this opinion is deeply unpopular. 🤣

I'm still standing by it. Pat Patriot is an illustration, not a logo, and it's too detailed, too vertical, and not horizontal enough to look good on a helmet. It's inferior not only to the Flying Elvis, but also to the rejected 1978 prototypes and the 1960 tri-quarter hat logo. The uniforms in general look more like Ole Miss, LaTech or FAU than a professional football team, and they're mostly associated with decades of heartbreak and futility on the field. And the specific version of that look they always choose to throw back to isn't even the best one in my opinion (I prefer the 1967-69 version).

I've said it many times, but the 1993 uniforms were the best the Patriots ever looked and they made a big mistake by ever changing them. Even the red numbers on the home jersey would have stopped being as much of an issue once everything switched over to HDTV.

I like the Patriot Pat logo but I agree that it is way too detailed for a helmet. It belongs on stationery like teams had back in the day. I also agree with you that their best look was the 1993 look. I like the more simplified jersey with the non-italicized numbers and no sublimated stripes. I didn't mind what came after the 93 look but it was inferior.

Still, I'm glad the Patriot Pat uniform is back. It beats the hell out anything they have worn for the last 20 years.

with the jazz pretty much having no choice but to accept their purple alternate jerseys as part of their main brand, this is gonna be their color palette for the next three seasons.

Looks like a printer test page but it needs magenta.

And may it always be that way. Seems just like yesterday that the Flyers were subjecting us to this (and its hideous Edge cousin, which I refuse to post):

I loved that black sweater but I regretted it once they made that the primary.

  6. So let's count all of the teams that wear black as its base color.

    Philadelphia

    Vancouver

    Calgary

    Panther City

    Las Vegas

Then add in the ones that have a decent amount of black in their scheme.

    Buffalo

    Rochester

    Colorado

    Saskatchewan

60% of the teams have a considerable amount of black in its unforms. That is a lot.
