It was Lee and the team was the Wyoming Marinerzzzzzzz. (I think it was Wyoming, anyway.)

If memory serves me, you are 100% correct . . . except maybe on the number of Zs at the end.

. . . and now, on an almost semi-related note, I'm slightly tempted to go to the Goldmine and read the Monica Bisordi thread.

    Both absolutely horrendous.

The Storm logo has always looked to me like something a random 8th grader drew on the brown grocery bag book cover of one of his school books while bored during 4th period social studies.

    Bingo.

This logo is so terrible on so many levels. It only lasted a few years, which ended up being the only time in my life I actually watched wrestling. I just assumed it was supposed to be some abstract symbol. Literally never noticed the WCW for the longest time. So not only does it look incredibly stupid, I wonder how many people actually noticed the letters.

I'm not a wrestling fan, but I've seen that logo before on multiple occasions and I noticed them . . . if you count me noticing them for the first time ever about three minutes ago.

I hate Wisconsin - but a Under Armour fan - and I have to say those are money.  Their best look since being under the UA brand.

Speaking of UA ... Maryland basketball is set to debut new uniforms this year.  They are in Itlay right now and didn't break them out; so I'm waiting eagerly to see the new look.

    And here they are . . .

I really like the whole set.  In particular, the white and red are an interesting blend of early-mid 80s and UnderArmour.

I thought it was pretty solid. These days, it would probably sweep the Oscars - which says more about the current quality of movies than it does about the quality of About Last Night.

It would stand out just for not being about superheroes and/or including craptons of CGI . . . and the pre-breast enlargement shots of Demi Moore are nice (not that the after is bad).

Overall, I like Maryland's new/throwback look, but it would help to have more yellow. Even just a thin stroke on the outside of the helmet and pants stripes would really help.

If these were originals, I would probably agree.  However, they are trying to stay true to the original Script Terps set and the primary from this version, with don't have any extra outlines on the helmet or pants stripes.

My only complaint is about using W/R/W stripes instead of R/W/R.  I almost always prefer the darker color to be on the outside when using Braisher stripes.  I'm pretty sure Maryland never wore black pants with the original Script Terps set, so they had a clean slate for the stripes on the black helmet and pants.  My assumption is that they chose to match the pattern of the logo, with red in the middle.

Man, it feels good to be an Orioles fan. Even if they dish out mild heart attacks every game between the innings 7-9.

As my wife puts it, it's like being a Ravens fan except you go through it 6-7 times a week instead of 1.

. . , and I'm not sure I agree with your use of the word "mild". 😛

This is the second year for fauxbacks.

I'm mad that I missed that before.

I was born in 1967 and grew up in Maryland.  This is what lacrosse uniforms are supposed to look like.  😛

EDIT:  My high school could have very easily worn that Chaos jersey circa 1987,

Also, these oven-mitt things really need to be regulated.  Idiot rookie Trea Turner was just picked off for the 3rd time this year (because he's apparently brand new to the game and doesn't know how to do literally anything competently) and in the replay, you can see that there's so much room in the oven mitt that it "squishes" as he's diving back.  Technically he was probably safe if they counted the full length of the mitt, but logically he was out by at least an inch (which is what they rightfully called) because there's no way his actual hand was on the base when he was tagged.  In conclusion, Trea Turner blows, and it's actually kinda fun watching him completely melt down.  At this point, I actively root for his failures.

I've seen this go the opposite way.  I don't recall the specifics, but a steal attempt against the Orioles earlier this season was called safe when the edge of the oven mitt reached second base an instant before the tag.  There was no way the actual hand was within six inches of the base, but the call was upheld on review.

Possible unpopular opinion, but the timed round format for the HR derby isn't as fun to watch. It gets really boring to just see a guy repeatedly swing (and tire out) and not even see where the ball goes while the commentators just talk over it like nothing is happening.

Agreed, it was much better when it was 10 outs. Also helped having announcers like berman for it, not these jobronis who rather talk about and to players that aren’t even apart of the competition than actually talk about what’s going on at the plate. You would have forgotten julio was even about to break the record if they didn’t start talking about it with 30 seconds left.

I also dislike the timed format.  It's hard to follow the split screen and really keep up.

Do you really have fond memories of Berman calling the Derby?  I would get sick of the "back, back, back, back . . . " call by the 10-12th time I heard it . . . and that's not accounting for the times he would say it only to watch the ball land on the warning track.

I also don't like the head-to-head competition in the first round.  Let the Top 4 advance, then maybe go head-to-head in the second round (and I'm not saying this just because Adley Rutschman was eliminated in the first round even though his score that round beat every score put up by Vlad, Jr. in each round).
