  12. Fourth thread! One more and I get a free sandwich! Many years ago, I started creating images for people to spruce up their signatures. I've done a lot of them and had a lot of fun doing it. First, some instructions, as people will no doubt ask for this a lot and it's good to have it front and center! Instructions on adding signature images These are for anyone to use in their signature if they desire. On Desktop: To edit signature, click the arrow next to your username in the upper right corner and choose "Account Settings". Click the "Signature" tab on the left and under the text field hit the "Insert other media" button and select "Insert image from URL". All you need to do is right click in my post, select "Copy link address" and paste it in the window that pops up when you click "Insert image from URL". If your browser does not have an option to copy link address, select "Open image in new tab", then copy the URL at the top. All images are being hosted on Imgur. On Mobile: To edit signature, tap the three lines in the upper right corner and tap "Account" then "Account Settings". Tap "Settings Area" and then select "Signature". Under the text field tap "Other Media" and then "Insert image from URL". All you need to do is hold on the image in my post, select "Open image in new tab" and copy the URL in the bar. Paste it in the text field that comes up when you select "Insert image from URL." Enjoy! All Sports Championship Signature Images I'd once seen someone display the championships their teams had won in a format similar to this, but I wanted to make my own version with a more simplistic style and then offer my services to anyone who was interested. Here's a sample of this style of signature image. It's my own trophy case with the wins of the Yankees, Mets, US Olympic Curling Team, Dolphins, Jets, Giants, Rangers, Canadiens, Hurricanes, Black Knights, NYCFC, Bulls, Orange, and my own Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball Team. Just tell me what teams you want to be included and what levels of championships you want to be included. Do you want all world championships? Do you also want divisional or league/conference championships? Do you want bowl wins or scoring trophies? And if the team has existed in multiple cities, let me know which cities you want included! Do you want the Braves' entire existence, or just their time in Milwaukee? I've been doing this for years and have literally hundreds of trophies already rendered in this sprite art style. But besides that, I will do anything I can to accommodate everyone and add anything you want. Images of the championship prizes of more obscure leagues are very helpful. "Where I Come From" Signature Images I've always been intensely interested and had a great love and appreciation for the different cultures in sports, which, of course, includes the logos and uniforms. That's what led me to this website to begin with. One thing I really loved (which was sadly used for only one year and then seems to have completely disappeared from memory and the internet) is NCAA Football 2011's ad campaign featuring the slogan "Where I Come From". In the commercial, different people described things where they came from, giving little snippets about their sporting culture. At the moment, I've only found videos of two commercials surviving on a French video site and two extremely low audio quality videos on YouTube. General Version Big 12 Version (Loud audio warning.) SEC Version (French only video site that asks you in French if you want to pay money or accept cookies warning.) I'd often thought of doing the same for other sports. Originally, I made a full list of phrases for the MLB, and tried making signature images to go with them, but my early attempts were rather pitiful. But I took another crack at it, and the thread became a rather booming affair that I think inadvertently caused the change that currently causes signature images to be automatically shrunk. Because of that, I shrunk them down from their original size to a much more compact package that could fit multiple on one line. Then the new forum sidebar squished things further, so I shrunk them a liiiiiiittle bit more. Each image consists of five separate images: one of the team's home city, one of their home venue, with the teams logo in the center. The other two are different for each sport. If you'd like anything special, make a request. In the future, I wouldn't mind doing the other sports as well. And yes, they're all positive ones. For some, it was tough finding something positive, but I think I've succeeded. You're welcome to link me to images that you want me to use if you have special requests. 13. Hmm... I coulda sworn something was said to be in the works during the season or early offseason (or even last offseason) that Colorado had some kind of rework happening for this year. I really like that this season the team included this in their scoreboard graphics. I was on the Mets subreddit in the live thread when I noticed it and was about to comment on how cool it was and ask how long they'd had it. Then the Padres started scoring... and I realized it would be for the best to not say anything at all and maybe ask next year. Is it just me, or has this always been the non-purple-alt uniform set of theirs where the purple shows best? *monkey paw finger curls* "Hey, Burmy, have you seen the ad patches the Rays are putting on all their uniforms?"
  14. Sorry everybody. I have been MORE than delinquent as of late. This has not been helped by not getting notifications for this thread. Nevertheless, there's been a larger issue for a while now. We needed updates. New teams. New logos. Leagues that haven't returned from the last thread. I'd mentioned having a new computer and a new program and I've remastered everything in the "Where I Come From" series. So I'm going to move to a new thread. Keep an eye out for it. It should pop up in the coming days. I've had dozens upon dozens of people make Championship sig requests and then after I've fulfilled them never appeared again. So if you still want yours meet me over in the new thread and I'll fulfill them. When the new thread is live, this will become a link.
  15. Are those crossed flags on the cream the supposed evolution of Minnie and Paul?
  16. Rangers City Connect: A uniform split down the center with one half representing Dallas and one half representing Forth Worth Texas works because the name together makes something. Same with Colorado Rockies even if it weren't the biggest concentration of people. Went to school for architecture at a time when the old teachers were still teaching hand-rendering. When drawing with perspective, the vanishing point is the point towards which all lines are leading. Could also be the serif'd bottom of the T if they're putting the TC on the sleeve like on the Homerdome unis. That would mean the striped would be much more modern-sized than the 70's look. I've said every year since Kasota Gold came: Navy Twins wordmark with red outline on pinstripes at home. Can be either print or script as long as it's clean. Both would be a beautiful update of their original look. Script Minnesota in the same colors on gray. Basically the ones from the last 10 years. White Twins wordmark with navy outline on a red jersey with navy piping as a home alt White script Minnesota with red outline on a navy jersey with red piping as a road alt. Basically the same as the last 10 years. Carew red-crown and thick stripes throwback for a few day games Kirby Homerdome throwback for a few night games a month Honor all eras, enjoy nostalgia while continuing forward. Some great looks. Fun times for all. Maybe even throw in the Mauer white-panel helmet at home. It feels unbalanced to me. Like the old one was a perfect mix of the two but the new one looks like I'm getting too much T. It's more massive and now much taller.
  17. The logo is lines. It's just lines. Nobody ever said it looks like the flag except for whoever was in charge of that graphic. Whether it's someone with the team or with the league or some rando whose work nobody checked. Any commentary and critique is with that tweet and whoever is responsible. We don't know who that is. But it's extremely silly. The flags posted have shown that there appears to be no possible evidence of any other flag that tweet could possibly be referring to besides the idea of "Nobody could be that stupid."
  18. Huh... Is that supposed to be a mane instead of a neck? Or is it a Florida panther? I guess the stripes have really messed with me. Made it look almost like a badger.
  19. I was wondering where the news was on the site, but now that it's released... Wow. Looks like since they can't point to the obvious D in the Renegades logo they instead said they used the Confederate battle flag as inspiration? They're not even trying to some up with an explanation of what the animal in the Guardians logo is? It's just a thing? I will say, though, that I like the Vegas logo a whole lot more now that the fang aspect has been pointed out to me. I feel dumb not noticing that earlier, but I suppose the Tampa attempt at a snake's head was in my head.
  20. I'd added this to the multiquote months ago. Then life got in the way. So it's months and dozens of pages later and it seems trivial now. But I know that every time I see those crappy Dodgers uniforms I'm going to think of this and regret not saying anything. So, screw it. Dunno if this was meant to be a joke or not, but to make sure it's widely known, the original message was referring to the weird pattern on the sleeves that looks like sweat, nothing more nefarious. This is the rub when it comes to these uniforms. Throwbacks are made to appeal to the fanbase. Your fanbase wants to watch the team play in them. But the powder blues, an iconic memory of the past, were largely a replacement for the road greys. So what do you do when the fanbase loves a road uniform? Do you make it the road uniform and ensure that 90% of your fans going to see the team can never see them in it? It's... a dilemma. I don't know the answer.
  21. Huh. Thought someone said something about the Astros. There's been years and plenty of other concerns in the meantime. As for the helmet thing, just a theory, but It seems to make sense looking at the primary/secondary logos in that set of images.
  22. Was there any threats with UAB as there was with the Oilers and Astros? Although they may be trying to avoid any further trouble. Of course, you've got the Battlehawks and the Eagles, but I feel like wings are common. Like the classic wolverine striping, where it's been done so much that no one can own it. Or, I may be wrong and they might switch to the STL.
  23. Oh... I think you hit on something here. The Renegades have this crappy primary and the old great logo that people keep saying they hope is staying on the helmet. The Defenders and Sea Dragons have logos that are aimed in one direction and have the classic Baltimore Ravens issue of how you display it on both sides of a helmet. What if Rock or whoever is going into this is going in with a thought process less like the NFL's brand to these identities. The NFL almost exclusively uses the helmet logo for the primary. Compare with, say, MLB, where for much of their history there is a complex primary logo and a simple logo on the cap/uniform. Could whoever mandated this identity set may have asked for a primary and a helmet logo. Thus Arlington makes up some crappy placeholder to keep the bandit on their helmets. I think that every single one of those "secondary logos" in that set is the helmet logo. They're largely symmetrical and weighty, often replacing logos that are more complex or slight. Houston's primary is a good helmet logo, but they're trying to avoid looking like the Oilers. I'm sure the Battlehawks will remain with the wings on their helmet, but you can't show that off as a logo really, so they throw out a simple monogram tertiary logo. The only one that breaks this really is the San Antonio logo, but I can see them going with the B on one side and number on the other, or perhaps just one logo like the Steelers.
  24. Huh... Went simplified across the board. The new Dragon actually looks like it may be pretty cool looking, but I'm a bit worried. The Dragons, Defenders, Renegades, Battlehawks, and Roughnecks are obvious if the color schemes aren't changing. The thunderbolt-ish logo reminds me of the thunderbolt in the Orlando Rage logo, so I'm guessing that's the new Guardians calling back to the original league. If it's done subtly, that's pretty cool. Unsure on the last two. The top one could be the two serifs at the top of a V with the left side of each shaped like fangs for the vipers. Actually, typing that out I'm pretty sure that's it, with the black and red being the Brahmas.
