Jostens has done this before. If you look at the Broncos '98, Falcons NFC '98, Rams '99, Titans AFC '99, Ravens '00, and Patriots '01 rings they are all the same design as well. The ring itself has the same design template but the face of the rings change slightly. It's happened with other rings too! That specific design is just one example and it's not limited to the NFL. One of the Colorado Avalanche rings used it and so did quite a few NCAA teams.
I don't know why Jostens does this but I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing. Most of those rings look really good. Even if they are the same design.
I think cost. It cost money to have people design a ring from scratch, so if you have one ready to go it saves time and money. And at the end of the day most players who receive these rings don't want them because it's the losers ring.

I never understood why players leave their rings lying around. This is a piece of jewelry worth 50+ thousand. You made enough money BUY A DAMN SAFE! All of mine are locked up at all times.

I wouldn't be surprised if teams start offering a cash payment to players instead of a conference ring, since as you pointed out no one wears them or many players sell them anyway.

What's with the hammer on the side of the spurs ring? Anyone know?

First look at the Kings ring:
I like the colored diamonds, but that's about it..not sure why they went with that shape for a hockey ring. Any pictures of the sides?

Does seem like it's taking forever for UCONN to come out with their own ring.

According to this article, Terry Bradshaw donated his championship rings.

That's Pretty Cool

It's such a shame the Bucs had to put the trophy on their rings rather than the helmet logo. That's by far the most disappointing Super Bowl ring I've ever seen. Especially as a Bucs fan.
I agree the logo would have been bad ass. Here's a picture of the Peoria Pirates AFL ring. Sorry for the crappy picture. But looks good with the logo.

Yeah it's only 70k because it is the first one to hit the market. I just think it's funny people go to ebay to sell these rings. People on ebay don't have 70k to blow on a super bowl ring. If he was serious then it has to go to a big auction house.

Heres a cool little slide show showcasing the Steelers 6 Super Bowl rings. Courtesy of Steelers.com. Notice the huge difference in size of the '05 ring and '08 ring.
Yeah I remember reading an article about how disappointed the players where when they got the 05 rings because the year before the pats had just received those monster rings.

Where did you get this picture? Not sure what this proves but here is the seahawks ring compared in size to the Saints rings.
The saints ring was kind of smallish, at about 57 grams. The seahawks ring does appear larger. I believe the last Giants ring was around 92 grams and the Ravens ring was 88 grams. The Ravens ring is the only ring that I am mentioning that is 10K gold (the others are 14K). So the Ravens ring at 88 grams would be around 100 grams had it been in 14K like the others.
I saw it on Twitter. I believe it belongs to a coach who was also a coach on the Saints staff. I thought it was a cool comparason and sheds a little light on the seahawks ring size.
I agree great comparison. Tiffanys is certainly stepping their game up when it comes to design. That saints rings is one of my all time favorites

Super Bowl ring, half a size of SEC championship ring is not cool!
I don't care who made it or how cool it looks.
Yeah that sucks..but of course the college rings are non gold or diamonds so cost.is WAY cheaper. Not saying that's an excuse.

Dralec the problem with big gaudy rings is that their uncomfortable to wear. I bring this story up all the time when. I met Charles Woodson, I asked him why he wasn't wearing his ring a his own wine tasting event and he said because the ring is so big and heavy after a while it starts the hurt the other fingers around the ring. A lot of players complain of the rings being to bulky to wear so they just sit at home. So moderation sometimes is the best course of action.

That seemed to have taken a long time for them to get those rings. The other final 4 teams got there's a long time ago.
