  1. On WKU, both the old & new sets are standard Nike Team fare. I applaud them for doing the best they can with those restrictions. If they retired the chrome helmet for something new that featured Big Red in its place, that’d be a home run.
  2. Agreed. The White & Black helmets are beautiful though.
  3. And just for the sake of comparison, I present these: Spring Game 2023 Gallery: https://lsusports.net/news/2023/04/24/gallery-football-spring-game/ also has them wearing the old jerseys and they just look....old. It's subjective. But I feel the newer template, with the clean cut across the horizontal seam, looks cleaner, sleeker, and just better overall. My opinion. And I wore the old style in high school, so I should be partial, but I'm not.
  4. I hate adidas but actually like these. The tapering pant stripe gives it a traditional yet modernized touch that doesn’t bother me as bad as it should. Love the two-town Purple on the White uniform and the tonal use with different fabric on the Purple uniform.
  5. When I plucked that off of Google, I thought the image was enhanced. Likely edited but it's not far off and depends on lighting.
  6. I feel like this complaint was overblown. It was improved on the Vapor Untouchable template, which the Colts only wore with their Color Rush set: Not sure how anyone could complain about that. [dodges incoming complaints)
  7. I didn’t think it was horrible, at least the striping matched the uniform. My point is, I don’t feel this is an upgrade.
  8. Also, this feels like what the Saints did last year: replaced their perfectly acceptable normal helmet worn with their alt uniform with something worse.
  9. Just doesn’t feel like the Detroit Lions. Maybe it’ll grow on me, but I don’t like it. Also, we would never have needed a Blue helmet if we didn’t have a Grey jersey. This is the slippery slope many have warned about.
  10. Being that that was in mid-January, and Nike closed the ordering window super early again this year, I wonder if we'll see those this year or next. It would've had to have been a super quick redesign or just a new order of the existing designs but on the newer templates. Personally, I don't think they need a redesign. Their current designs are great, and they'll get the recognition they deserve if they just win.
  11. Are the Buffs getting new unis this year?
  12. General Rule of Thumb: light helmets require light pants. It never looks good when a White or Silver helmet is paired with very dark pants. It’s always unbalanced.
  13. Forgot to throw that in my last post; I'd be down with Blue/Black/Blue/Black. Overall, this team has a little bit of a dated look and they keep trying to freshen it up with new combos, but none of them help. I love the traditional home & away looks of the Panthers, but they probably do need to head towards a total update.
  14. Much better than their Black helmet. Would look very good with their Away uniform with Process Blue socks. Would have to wear White pants at Home with Black jersey. Otherwise you go with Black over Black, and you know they’d wear Black socks. That’d still be better than the all-Black look now. Would look good with Blue jersey, White pants, Blue socks, too.
  15. When a franchise with Black jerseys & socks decides to go with Black helmets & pants after not doing it for almost 30 years, it’s BFBS.
  16. PFA: THE BEST LOOKS OF THE CAROLINA PANTHERS PERFECT: - Perfectly color-balanced - Traditional, yet sleek - Classic Carolina Panthers ACCEPTABLE ALTERNATES: - Silver/White/White/Blue is their original Away look and it's still perfectly acceptable (Black socks just look better and slightly more balanced with the Black numbers) - Away look with White socks works and lets the players have an Icy look - Process Blue/Silver is perfectly balanced and unique, while Process Blue/White is still clean and balanced. FOUL SMELLY DUMPSTER TRASH: - White/Black Leotard Pants is horrifically bottom-heavy and the same disgusting look that we hate when the Saints wear it - BFBS1 - BFBS2 - Black/Process Blue/Black/Black retains the poorer helmet, the Black pants, and the leotard look. Even with Blue socks, it's not their best look. - I didn't even post their all-Blue Color Rush, because I'm nice.
  17. I commented on the Panthers IG post how terrible this combo is and of course all the kids came out calling me an old head. I stand by my opinion. Black helmet is junk. Black pants are junk. It’ll be a better world if Carolina ever retires them both.
  18. Agreed. It would actually give newer teams the opportunity to develop “What if?” uniforms. What would the Texans look like if founded in the 60’s? Panthers in the 70’s? Commanders in the 80’s? There are a lot of fun possibilities league-wide if complete games were Throwback games. Another one? “Vintage” fabrics and construction. Meaning dazzle mesh. And shiny pants.
  19. Gross. I hate this template. Too many unnecessary seams and the bacon neck is brutal. The Vapor Untouchable was perfect and there was no good reason to change it.
  20. Lots of teams are doing production shoots this week. Chiefs and Panthers notably released social media content, with the Chiefs showing Mahomes in the new FUSE template and multiple Panthers players in the new Process Blue FUSE jerseys with modified stripe. The stripes are definitely thinner, and pointy on some players, while the point is truncated on others. Either way, I liked the old Blue better and I hate that they’re wearing Black pants with these jerseys. Also, it really didn’t fix the tiny TV number issues….at all.
  21. If it came down to Throwback Thursdays or Color Rush…I think the winner of that poll around here would be for the classics. Each team could have a Throwback Home & Away, double the fan jerseys to sell. Other features could be added to the game experience and presentation too, such as throwback TV graphics, stadium graphics, end zone paint, etc. Almost every team would have something to throw back to. Who wouldn’t? The Texans (which will change next year). Ravens? Maybe the Raiders and Panthers? Everyone else has a look they could revert to, many have numerous, even if it’s not major (Chiefs, Steelers). I’m just saying it would be better if both teams wore throwback uniforms in these games, instead of getting a matchup of say 80’s Eagles vs current Commanders. You hope the Eagles will wear them vs someone like Dallas or San Francisco this year, but making it Throwback vs Throwback just eliminates bad matchup potential.
  22. No. That’s not what I’m advocating, because I’m specifically talking about Throwback alternates, not standard home & away uniforms. I’m not sure that wasn’t clear.
  23. RE: THROWBACKS To avoid games that will feature a clash of modern vs throwback uniforms, the NFL should’ve mandated a throwback look league-wide so that each team had an option to wear in these games. For this matchup in particular, you’re going to have a 70’s-80’s look up against a current look, and it’ll be wonky; if the Lions were to wear a Throwback uniform, even if the periods didn’t exactly match, they’d at least have two old looks in the matchup, rather than a new vs old. Imagine the Commanders facing off against the Bucs in this game, or the current Jets, Seahawks or Titans. Now, imagine throwbacks for each of those 3 teams vs the Creamsicles. I believe the NFL used to do this, and they were full-on “Throwback Games”. I wish they’d bring that back.
