  1. Why would you think it would be the Vapor Pro instead of the Vapor F.U.S.E.?
  2. I actually don't hate the wordmark, I just have a hard time believing A.) they'd leak it a year early and B.) they'd go with something so stylized. Stuff like this ages quickly & poorly.
  3. 'Taker is a big fan of Nine Line Apparel. He'd worn their shirts for awhile and the owner connected with him and offered him a ton more; Taker wouldn't accept. They're doing some collaborations now but when offered free gear, he wouldn't take them and just wanted to support the company. Says a lot. He also did some semi-private charity fundraising stuff with them. From all accounts, he's about as good as they come.
  4. Also....looks like a WWE tee for The Undertaker.
  5. Highly confident they wouldn't leak it on an acid wash tee in their online team shop. Especially for a tee design built on the 2023 season. Also, this has a "concert tee" feel to it, both in the blank garment and the design. I'm sure there was some thought in the font selection, but highly doubt this is an official wordmark.
  6. Could not disagree with you more. Original Renegades logo was far superior, and added both Red & Black to the sides of the helmet, which worked better. The stripe, as I've mentioned elsewhere and again below, is far superior to the current design. The current logo is White, which shows poorly on the Light Blue background due to lack of contrast, and with the horrible wide Black stripe, both leave absolutely ZERO Red on the helmet, which is ridiculous when you realize that the jersey has ZERO White, but does have Red. Just seems like two different people made the decisions on the helmets & uniforms, and without consulting one another.
  7. I actually agree with you on 4/5 points. The shoulder stripes, helmet stripe, helmet logo, and lack of Black on the White uniform are all major misses. However, the XFL/UA effort here looks committed to the shoulder stripe usage on the AG2 (ArmourGrid 2) template, so I wasn't going to go through the hassle of mentioning they should change it, because they've used the the template as a design element with every team, and I assume that was intentional. In a perfect world, I'd remove those, but they don't make the uniforms disastrous, in my opinion. My proposal to fix the Renegades uniforms is to revert back to the old helmet, with the original Renegades logo and stripe that 100% compliments their number font, and then doing the color change I quickly mocked-up above for the White uniform. I actually posted a Photoshop a few pages back of the old helmet on the new Home uniform: @Ted Cunningham did too:
  8. As Stalekracker says, "That's money, dude." And, I think this is eventually what we'll see as their most common combinations, once they get a few games of Icy White and Used Tampon out of their systems.
  9. Does anyone have updated Nike & UA football uniform templates in .psd that they're willing to share? I'd like to try to mock this White version of the uniform up in a better way. Or, if someone is willing to do the mock-up....gracias.
  10. Someone posted this swap in reply to the Cardinal's "fashion" tweet, and it makes things feel so much better: Of course, it would be better yet if the socks were swapped, too.
  11. Umm...the equipment managers are not the ultimate decision-makers on what teams wear on gameday.
  12. I can agree with you on the helmet, but not on the basketball uniform font. Those are a no-go for me.
  13. Just give these bad boys an update:
  14. Absolutely quick & dirty Photoshop of what easily would've made more sense:
  15. I doubt they'll scrap the uniforms after just one season, but the helmets would be an easy redesign as they'll undoubtedly recondition them. They seriously need to just go back to the original Renegades helmet. The current Home uniform is nearly perfect: But the Away uniform, without Black, does not look great at all. They should keep the exact same pant striping from the Home (Light Blue) pants (Black, Red line, Light Blue, Black) and put it on the Away (White) pant, pairing it with Black socks. I hate the odd shoulder stripes on both; they should probably get rid of them completely and find some other way to use Black on the upper jersey that uses the Red line as a highlight (without doing full-on yoke colorblocking, like the originals). They could add Black to the collar, for example, keeping the thin Red line on the edge of the collar as the highlight, continuing that theme. Then, they can just change the coloring of the UA logo, wordmark, and numbering to achieve a balance of Black, Red, and Light Blue for those on the White jersey. What really bothers me in that 2nd photo above is that the player name is Red, but the team name on the front is Light Blue. Stupid and unbalanced. They could probably use a same exact number font, just with Black fill, Red hightlight line inside the number, and a Light Blue outside border and it would end up balanced.
  16. It was just the closest example I could find. Personally, I feel the Red face guard is the “pop” and if metallic, the contrast is best when used with an anodized, satin, or matte finish on a helmet, and I don’t find any of those finishes “boring” when executed properly. I do find it boring when everything on the helmet - shell, mask, decals…is glossy/metallic. Either way, the point I’m making is the Red facemask is the pop the helmet needs if they’re retaining a Navy shell.
  17. This is a 2024 topic, but have there been any credible leaks or speculation regarding what the Houston Texans are doing with the helmet, or their colors overall? Many are fans of the Red helmet, of which I am not. I think a Matte White helmet with a Navy faceguard would be a good change for them, and we got a little glimpse of how that could look with the XFL's Houston Roughnecks this season (partially). However, the Texans logo looks best on a Navy helmet, but with a standard paint finish, no stripe and a Navy faceguard, it's just really boring. Probably suggested before, but one simple fix: satin Navy finish, metallic Red faceguard. Similar to the original AAF promo helmet (which used a chrome Red faceguard): If they wanted to, they could add a 2-color stripe: 1/2 Red, 1/2 White, that ended a few inches up from the back bottom of the helmet, leaving room for a single White star, replicating the Texas flag.
  18. I think they'll grow on everyone eventually, and will be seen as a huge upgrade when compared to the Reebok set, which was disastrous from the start. Kyler Murray being the most commonly shown player in these uniforms doesn't help the cause right now; guy looks downright dumpy in uniform. Once you start seeing D-Hop & Budda in them, it'll be better. Note: I just skipped down their roster to look for other star players and it has to be undoubtedly the worst roster in the league, not just now, but in YEARS. And the two guys I just mentioned either they tried to trade or asked to trade. Steve Keim's reign was brutal. Hopefully brighter days ahead for Cardinals fans. Very easy to see them getting the #1 overall pick next year, and another Top 5 or Top 10 pick (Houston). They could come away with Marvin Harrison Jr & Brock Bowers, or, if they decide to and can move on from Murray, Caleb Williams or Drake Maye. That'd go a long way towards solidifying the offense, at least.
  19. I’m sure “Hogs” would’ve been offensive to…somebody.
  20. I’ll remember that the next time we get 3 pages of a random topic because of a tweet or Reddit post.
  21. The reason the topic resurfaced. Not just a random threadjacking.
  22. Natives. Originals. Americans. All would have been better than Commanders.
  23. “Commanders” is weak, indeed very generic. There’s also no mascot, no imagery, and the colors don’t align at all. Maybe if the Patriots and Texans weren’t a thing and they could’ve used Navy/Red/Grey/White, or even changed to Olive Green & Tan, and used some actual military figure imagery or mascot, it’d work, but as it stands, it’s very stupid.
  24. And, if "Warriors" is too violent or offensive still, they've already got some wording in-house that would also work very well: https://www.commanders.com/team/history/
  25. To add to my post above, I believe the best solution to all is to rename the team the "Washington Warriors". And yes, they should go back to Native American imagery. They should represent Native American culture in a positive light. They should offer Native American benefits, or even minority ownership. They should use their stage to highlight Native American history and teach it to today's generation and beyond, in a respectful manner. This can help heal the wounds on both sides: those of Native American ancestry who were hurt by the logo or name, and those who loved it because it was just their team, and therefore miss it. They can even salvage some things from their past, like the '65-69 uniforms, as a Throwback alternate. "Representation" is such a buzz word used by some today; this is a way that it could be used for good. Put original Americans on the national stage, where they belong.
