  1. I was going to comment on that earlier. They should burn every pair of them. Purple over White at home, White over Purple on the road and they’re good for as long as they keep this set.
  2. To clarify, the issue I have with the Bears color scheme is the use of Orange/White next to each on Navy, not the trio itself. Or, even worse, when Navy/White are on Orange. On large details it can work fine: as in their 3-color pant stripe. Where it suffers is when used in thin details, like their home sleeve stripes and their dainty number font…especially on the Orange jersey. Again, just very hard on the eyes. And yes, of the classics (have to throw the 49ers & Steelers in there as well), the Bears, in my opinion, have the weakest look of them. It’s not bad, by any means, but it doesn’t have the most charm and the last 30 years or so of mostly losing doesn’t help.
  3. I was highly critical of this choice also. Their thicker, single-color block numbers on their original White Color Rush jerseys are far superior. They essentially kept their prior number font, which sucked. So this still sucks also.
  4. Similar, but not identical. Sleeve stripe pattern, specifically the spacing, is different. Overall, not a bad thing. Basically what I’m calling for is taking the throwback uni and removing the stripes on the yoke, updating the helmet, and matching the sock stripes to each jersey.
  5. Haha, yeah that’s about what the response I imagine I’ll get from this suggestion. The problem is that Orange and White are too similar, tonally. There’s not enough contrast. They compete. It just creates problems with Navy. Their number font is dainty. It’s dated. You’d never put it on a new uniform design. So, the first thing I’d do is change the font to the 1-color block font they use on their most recent throwbacks. White on the Navy jerseys, Navy on the White jerseys. I’d drop the outline on the C logo altogether and move to a Satin finish on the helmet. I’d add an Alt helmet: Matte White shell, Navy facemask, single 1” Navy stripe, Orange 1-color C logo. Maybe even make that the primary helmet. Maybe consider using the Bear logo on it. I’d retain the sleeve stripes & color pattern from the current White jersey and copy it to the Navy jersey in Orange/White/Orange. I’d drop the GSH from the sleeves and just wear it as a left chest patch. I’d consider adding small stars to the striping pattern on the set to tie into Chicago’s flag. Pants might have a single stripe to match new Alt Matte White helmet. Otherwise, might be plain White, Bear logo on front right hip opposite Swoosh (EDIT: can’t do this, NFL Shield logo is there). Navy pant would be optional and only worn with White jersey and would be plain, no striping (EDIT: same as Throwback pant). Striped socks would mirror jersey sleeve stripes; a set of Navy with Orange/White/Orange stripes and a set of Whites with Navy/Orange/Navy stripes. All off the top of my head here, I’m in the middle of the 7-hour drive from Atlanta back to Orlando.
  6. Disagree. Brutal on the eyes. Only justification would be to match the logo on the Orange helmet. All around, the Bears have a traditional look that, due to the logo, colors, and font, just hasn’t aged like most of the other traditionally-dressed teams. The Orange alt jerseys & helmets are truly a mess and just don’t work. I actually think they’d benefit greatly from a modest update. They’ve been a doormat since the late 80’s. Move to a new look and retain their general current design as a Throwback.
  7. You mean like when Janie Briggs lost her ponytail and paint-covered overalls. This is the best the Jets have ever looked.
  8. Personal opinion: this look is too bottom heavy. It’s not the socks, which I like…it’s the helmet. Yet another reason why they should consider bringing back the Red helmets. At that point, though…White pants are the only need.
  9. Too bad they ruin it by wearing Blue socks. If there ever was a time to wear White socks, this is it. Quite frankly, they should always wear Gold pants with the White jerseys.
  10. Patriots should be fined every week they don't wear Grey pants. It should be the only pant they wear, period. Eagles are badly due for an overhaul. Bills are going to trot out in their ugly ass Blue pants tonight. Another team that should be fined for wearing anything but White pants.
  11. As great as these are, I feel their current full-time set is a really nice modern update to this look, and that this serves perfectly in the role it is in now: as a throwback. When teams nail an alt throwback this well, and have a strong standard look, I'd be in favor of them being able to drop Color Rush to wear these more often during a season. Goes back to my argument that each team should have a Home/Away throwback set, which would give us the opportunity for Throwback vs. Throwback Classic Games, almost weekly. Give me this Vikings look vs. White Dolphins Throwbacks, or an Away version of this uniform against the Chiefs in Red/White. Perfecto. Vikings look great pretty much no matter what. Low-key have one of the best overall looks in the league. P.S. Firm believer in the satin finish of the helmet being a huge part of what makes both their standard and throwback looks so good.
  12. Dear God that’s the Mach Speed template.
  13. These guys don’t show off the uniform very well. Otherwise, nice evolution though I miss the Gold. Hate the Gloss Black helmet. Should be satin.
  14. Instead of "Artful", that should read "Awful". Because it's awful that they ruined what was the perfect alternate uniform. The original Smokey Grey uni was absolutely perfect. I don't get why teams don't know what good is.
  15. With a Gold helmet, yes. White helmet, white pants. Thems the rules.
  16. I love their previous sets but knew Prime would update - these are good, but most of all, fitting. Colorado looking and feeling great on this first drive. I might be jumping on the bandwagon. EDIT: this is also another terrific reminder that the Vapor Untouchable is a far superior template than the new trash v-neck template.
  17. This is my alma mater. Played football there in 2001. This doesn’t at all surprise me.
  18. What the Texans should have done: https://twitter.com/dctf/status/1697249186528522391?s=20 https://www.texasfootball.com/article/2023/08/31/-luv-ya-blue-houston-cougars-honor-oilers-history-with-popular-color-scheme-against-utsa?ref=article_preview_img
  19. DBs should be able to wear 0-9, but not 10-19. DL/LB should not be allowed to wear 0-39. Would solve a lot of numbering issues that were created by these recent rule changes. 0-19 need to be for QB/K/P. That’s at least 4 on each team. Most teams carry 6 WR and none of them want to wear 80s anymore, so now you’ve got 10 numbers accounted for. RBs, TEs, and DBs are then left to fight over the 10 remaining numbers. Off the cuff guess is that most teams have at least 1, some more, retired numbers in 0-19. So you have almost every position group on the team except OL fighting over 20 numbers, max. It wasn’t broken, it didn’t need fixed. They should have just opened 0-9 for RBs & WRs and called it a day.
  20. For a team that historically had a very, very basic uniform, the bland part of it doesn’t bother me. And I prefer under-designed to over-designed. It’s the fact that when you go basic, you really need to nail the details, because they are amplified as the only design elements. These high school-sized front numbers are ridiculous and shows that Nike didn’t learn from the Detroit Debacle. The thing is, someone there knows better: they’ve done large numbers for Oregon and others, even with the stupid new template. So that tells me that someone in the process believes the small numbers look better. They do not. It’s one reason why UA’s jerseys look so amateur next to Nike’s.
  21. What REALLY chaps my ass about Nike lately is how freaking small some of these uniform numbers are on the front of the jersey. They look freaking ridiculous. These are high-school sizes 8-9" numbers instead of 10" or more. And I guarantee it's because of that God-awful jersey template. BJ Ojulari is only 6'2, 248lbs and that tiny number makes him look like he's 6'8, 285lbs. It's really noticeable on the big guys but even stands out on some of the smaller skill players.
