  1. Don't apologize, this actually shows why it works better if wearing dark pants with White jerseys when your team has a dark helmet.
  2. I agree with you on the Dolphins looking better in what are now their throwbacks, but I don't believe them wearing Teal pants is their best look. I much prefer this: Over this: And especially this: Now, the Dolphins have been wearing them so long (that I get why some like them) and they're a somewhat light enough color to work, if they just would wear White socks. By the way, that 2nd pic makes me fiend for the Bills to wear those again full-time. I'd love to see that design on the modern helmets & uniform templates.
  3. Titans and Jets work because of the colorblocked sleeves, which adds balance. That Bills looks is gross. Orange is light enough to work, like Yellow is for the Chargers. The Oilers fall into that category as well. Let me rephrase my position: White/Light helmets, White Jerseys, DARK pants = bad White/Light helmets, White Jerseys, LIGHT COLOR pants = workable
  4. I never did, but I believe this is what happens when we fall in love with players or teams in successful eras, ala Brady with the Pats in the piped garbage unis. The player or team can elevate a bad look. We develop fond memories of those times and the images in our minds of those memories relate positive emotions….if you had put a photo of Jay Fiedler or Damon Huard up in your post….uni doesn’t look nearly as good.
  5. Yes, White socks are pretty much essential to make it work, but I’d argue that that’s not a great look for the Cardinals….never though it was. That Jets example works because the sleeves of the jersey match the pants - it adds enough balance - plus there’s enough Green in the helmet to help.
  6. No…light colors aren’t as bottom heavy, and with the Yellow face guard, it’s a little more balanced. It can work with a light color, but take, for example the Panthers & Saints when they wear Black pants with their Silver & Gold helmets…it looks like dog:censored:. Same for Patriots, who should be wearing Gray pants home & away. Having teams with White helmets wearing Blue pants, which they inevitably will wear with Blue socks to full leotard looks horrifically unbalanced. Some just accept it now bc they’ve seen it and are used to it; imagine the Cowboys wearing Navy pants or the Raiders wearing Black pants with their White jerseys and Silver helmets…it’d be ridiculous.
  7. The Colts or Bills or nearly anyone with a White helmet cannot wear dark pants with a White jersey, it's completely unbalanced/bottom-heavy. Terrible look.
  8. As I said above, it just needs a white pant with a stripe that matches the helmet and this is instantly a good set.
  9. To be really fair, the Chiefs used to wear White socks with the all-White combo often, particularly in the 90’s.
  10. 49ers vs Cowboys is always a classic and hard to beat, but I will offer that this one was really pretty today: Chiefs in White-on-White is my favorite, and wearing their White socks with it takes me back. I think I prefer this combo with their Red socks now, but either is far better than when their White jersey is worn over their Red pants.
  11. This helmet is still better than their dog:censored: current. If you never saw the Broncos before, and saw them today, you'd call that a nice helmet. If they had a White pant to wear with these, we'd all be pretty happy with the look. It's just jarring because the Broncos aren't known at all for a White helmet, so it looks so out of place.
  12. Florio now reporting that the new league intends to offer franchises for sale in Year 3 of the new merger. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/merged-usfl-xfl-apparently-plans-to-sell-franchises
  13. I’m not sure what’s in the water around here lately, but until very recently, the Cowboys have been widely considered one of the most classic uniforms in league, being mentioned alongside the Packers, Raiders, Steelers, Chiefs, etc. Hive mind contrarianism.

  15. This is why it works. It's a trademark look now. And they haven't "been trying to get away with" it...it's not a modern thing. They've been dressing like this for like 50 years, it's well-documented...and the years when they did have matching silvers, they didn't look right.
  16. They look like the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys look one way when dressed in White and another way dressed in Navy. It’s how it’s pretty much always been and probably how it always will be. Might not be your cup of tea, which is totally okay, but they’re certainly an iconic brand in not just football, but all of sports, and their fanbase and merch sales back that up, regardless of whether their blues or grays match.
  17. They’re iconic; fixing them would actually take away from their character.
  18. About as good as it gets right here. If only the Steelers were playing the Browns. Hope the Chiefs wear White pants.
  19. New England need only wear Grey pants at home or on the road. The Navy pants need to be retired permanently.
  20. Nice. And a good example of how single-color, stripe-less socks aren’t always bad; 49ers look as good as they ever have here.
  21. Personally, I’d hate “no socks” in the NFL. The stripeless/mono/tights-look socks that drive a lot of purists nuts right now is a trend, but NFL teams wearing socks as a uniform component is just a standard. Leave the no-sock look to college, please.
