  1. Yeah I just disagree. I think it looks dated in a way that doesn’t even make it good for a Throwback and I think their current font is one of the best in the league. My opinion: “boring” is good for name & number fonts. Where things go sideways is when people think numbers are supposed to be fancy & artful. They always become dated (if they ever work at all). They are simply player identifiers and should thus be clean, simple, legible, and not distract from or compete with the rest of the uniform.
  2. I could've Google'd before posting: Have to fix that pant stripe to Teal/Gold/Black, and go all-Black on the collar, but this is a Yes for me.
  3. Sure would love to see these on the modern template. Not sure why Jacksonville hasn't capitalized on introducing them as a Throwback set...they'd sell a whole bunch of replica jerseys. The number font hasn't stood the test of time but the rest of the uniform would be just fine in 2024 and beyond. This uniform, with their current number font and logo would be a great next (and final) uniform design should they move on from the Coughlin-era unis.
  4. #1 is really the only guideline, in my opinion. You can call the Brady-era Patriots uniforms "unique" and tied to significant events in franchise history, but that doesn't mean it's what they should be wearing. While the Namath-era uniforms check all 3 of your boxes, I don't think they should be wearing those, either. The darkness of the Green and the tendency for White helmets to get dingy as the season progresses leads to a rather dull look. Being that they're so closely tied to one player (Namath) also casts a shadow. Lot of variables go into what a team should be wearing. Ultimately it comes down a uniform that looks great, but feels right for the time. Moving on from these Jets unis, that are most closely tied to the Zach Wilson, to a brighter, cleaner throwback 80's look that never quite achieved greatness and might become synonymous with the Aaron Rodgers era in a time in pop culture where clean vintage looks are in just seems like the right choice for where the franchise is. If Rodgers leads them to a Super Bowl victory, they may never change out of them, and that's not a bad thing, that's a good thing.
  5. Groan. Ever see Jerry Jones, Clark Hunt, or the Rooneys show up to games in sweatpants? Ditka wore a tie on the sideline...did he not know how to dress for his environment? Also, tell me you don't wear suits in 2024 without telling me you don't wear suits in 2024. Performance stretch fabrics in hot weather, wool suits & topcoats in the cold. This isn't a far-fetched concept. And there's a portion of fans that would like to see it return...perfectly acceptable opinion, unless you're a jackass on a message forum.
  6. Yeah, I'm not sure either.
  7. I dunno, bro - coaches did it for decades and it was classy. Now they’re wearing t-shirts and sweatpants on the sidelines. Shoot me for thinking people in authority positions should present well.
  8. I do miss coaches in suits. Shame it’s even gone the way of the dodo in a lot of basketball now, too.
  9. I wasn't referring to the Brady-era uniforms, which were dog:censored:. I was referring to their current set that, when worn properly, are a top-tier look. The current Falcons uniforms are a dick hair away from being in the XFL.
  10. I actually have no problem with the current helmet; the shell color & finish is beautiful, the logo was fine, and I think it looked great with a Black facemask. The problem is that the uniform was a complete debacle, outside of the number font (because as stated above, you can't go wrong with block numbers). The Legacy uniform immediately is a Top 10 NFL uniform. I hope they keep the helmet finish, though a satin finish wouldn't be bad if they're insistent on change.
  11. Absolutely the right decision here.
  12. So it's possible for them to swap their Throwbacks out with their current Home uniform, as long as they keep the Black helmet? SOLD. Would they be able to add an Away alternate jersey, or would they have to keep wearing their current White jersey?
  13. The Patriots uniforms, especially when wearing Navy over Grey, are infinitely better than what the Falcons are currently wearing.
  14. I've long stated that this is their all-time best look and what they should have aspired to with the last redesign. These with the current helmet would be art.
  15. If they'd burn all their Black pants to introduce Grey pants, I'd shed not a single tear.
  16. On the Belichick to the Falcons front...I cannot get over the thought of seeing the conservative Belichick coaching the Falcons in these God-awful uniforms. Is there any way, shape or form the Falcons could petition to make a change this season, reverting to their Throwback looks as a full-time uniform? Obviously there's the 2-year rule, but...I could almost see Bill looking at Arthur Blank in a meeting and saying, "Arthur, I can't walk out on the field with a team that looks like that." The Throwback unis as a full-time set with an Away version would change that dramatically.
  17. Great point. Also, doesn't make any sense that they'd use the feather pattern on the pants, but use the Throwback sleeve stripes. I call BS.
  18. This is the key point that makes me think this is bull:censored:; I highly doubt they would jettison Action Green for Apple Green, which is just Kelly Green, the shade they use for their Throwbacks.
  19. Yes, this is how pretty much how the Falcons should look. I prefer the 90-96 uniforms and silver pants, though I like the red outline on the 97-02 sleeve logo, which is what should be on the helmet. The satin/matte finish on Atlanta’s black helmet looks great.
  20. As you said, this is the only thing they need to do; go back to the Cowboy as the primary and the original helmet, where the helmet stripe perfectly matches the jersey numbers from last year's uniforms: Which would give them this: And then they could fix their away uniforms to these:
  21. That middle helmet is sex. Pop the Red facemask on that mother.
  22. Giant MEH. Maroon is one of the worst colors in sports. The puke Tan-Gold is not a great accent to Maroon. Sleeve stripe patterns don't match home/away, or to the pant (they don't always have to, but here, it still doesn't work). Helmet logo is as tacky as when Boise State did it. The shoehorning in of Light Blue is the only thing that makes these anything near interesting. Give them props for the single color block number, even if it's skinnier than it should be, but these don't inspire.
  23. Anxious to know if UA is still involved and if this merger encourages the league to fix some of the XFL 3.0 mistakes (Renegades primary logo, helmet, and away uniform, for example). I can’t imagine they’d just hold over non-UA uniforms for 3 teams. Perfect time to make uniform/logo changes. Sadly, based on their logo, I have no faith they’ll do it.
  24. Makes no sense to keep 5 & 3; what are the Roughnecks getting the nod over the Gamblers?
