  1. I don't believe Puma has put their brand on a football uniform since the late 90's (I could be wrong). Starter or New Era would be more likely, though the XFL did start selling some '47 Brand apparel recently, so I would think that if it was New Era, they would have exclusivity on headwear & apparel. There was a Starter rumor bouncing around a week ago. The XFL made sure not to show the upper left chest of these jerseys in this teaser video (opposite the XFL logo), so there is a spot for a manufacturer's mark and quite frankly, if there's not one opposite the XFL logo, the front of the jersey will look unbalanced, considering they're foolishly putting the team logo at the homeplate spot instead of the league logo. If New Balance had their football footwear ready, this would've been a prime spot for them. I don't love some things about their new template, but the quality is good.
  2. With what looks like 2 Light Grey uniforms, I wonder if some team's Away sets will be Light Grey instead of White, namely Houston & New York. Those 2 teams have color sets (Navy/Red, Black/Red) that will look excellent with Light Grey, but they are also similar. Still, it would be a slightly original thing to do.
  3. What we can tell so far: DALLAS RENEGADES Home: Away: White body, Black trim, Light Blue/Black numbers DC DEFENDERS Home: solid Red body, 1-color White numbers Away: HOUSTON ROUGHNECKS Home: Red body, Navy trim, Navy/White numbers Away: Grey body, Navy/Red numbers, Red yokes/sleeves/side panels LA WILDCATS Home: Black body, Gold/Red numbers (these have major potential) Away: NY GUARDIANS Home: Away: Grey body, Black/Red numbers SEATTLE DRAGONS Home: Navy body, Dark Green trim, White/Orange numbers (these will suck) Away: ST LOUIS BATTLEHAWKS Home: Royal body Away: White body, Royal/Grey numbers TAMPA VIPERS Home: Kelly Green body, Lime Green trim Away: Houston, New York and LA might have some great looks. All of the uniforms feature a mascot name above what might be custom number fonts.
  4. Definitely not Nike. Initially I thought there was a small chance they could be UA based on the front neck/collar stitching, but if it is, it's not one of their high-end/collegiate-level templates based on the ridiculously-aged mesh on the upper body. The sleeves and yokes appear to be a standard matte cordura fabric at least. Unless it's a brand-new template, these aren't Under Armour, either. That leaves Adidas, which my company does not sell, so I'm not as familiar with. From the looks of their Team Catalog, these could potentially be either the Techfit All-American template. Either way, very disappointing it's not Nike or UA; not surprised at all that it's not Nike, but given Duane Johnson's connection to UA, and UA having almost no major presence in American football anymore outside of their select college programs, I thought we had a chance at that, would've brought about some great team merch. These also do not match up with the New Era CFL uniforms, though I can't remember if the CFL was wearing Adidas/Reebok uniforms with New Era badging in 2019. New Balance is a dark horse as they just got into the football uniform game with football cleats coming in 2021 or 2022, but this doesn't line up with their uniform either. They also do not match the AAF template badged by Starter. Judging from this video, these are probably generic uniforms made offshore that the XFL will not badge with an official uniform partner for the 2020 season. That would line up with the leaks we've seen. I hope I'm wrong, we'll find out tonight.
  5. Roughly 24 hours ago to, give or take, and no leaks or rumors. XFL is decent at playing things close to the chest.
  6. Either way, it's a cheap, junk jersey and the XFL logo should be center neck ("home plate" location) rather than right chest. The design & number font are also really poor. I hope these aren't legit but fear they are. Really sad....they had the opportunity to nail it with these but most of the varsity high school teams in the country are wearing nicer jerseys than these, and every college most definitely is.
  7. Ugh. I hope this is an elaborate fake because these are 100% hot stinkin' TRASH. Why would they use a 90's template with the cheap mesh when there are so many better options? And the XFL on the right chest, logo in the middle, and nothing on the left is super dumb. Super disappointing if true.
  8. UA needs this type of football exposure again, and quite frankly, after Nike and Adidas, the quality of uniforms made by other manufacturers drops off drastically. Though as you stated, I'm not sure UA can take it on. Adidas already legally tried to prevent McMahon from using his Alpha Entertainment LLC logo, so as they say in the wrestling world, there's "heat" there, though Adidas would be somewhat smart to get some football exposure back in the states. While using Champion or Starter has some nostalgic value, they don't make a uniform that is comparable to Nike, UA or Adidas, and the brand value association is just not there. The XFL needs one of the top 3. UA just seems the most likely, if they can handle it, which I think they could. From a production/delivery standpoint on the team side right now, they're doing okay, much better than they were 2 years ago. Powers still makes all of their football uniforms, and they could theoretically partner with Fanatics for fanwear decoration & fulfillment. New Era could be a dark horse, but they're merely licensing their logo to whomever manufactures the CFL uniforms. That would not be a horrible play...if they could make/license a better uniform. The CFL unis look like the same templates from 2001...they're awful. Personally, I'd love to be surprised and see Nike take them on. It would be a major win for the XFL in brand identity and merch, and the uniforms would be elite. I can't stand the Adidas silhouette and some of their specific tackiness (screen printed metallics) and UA's necklines and pants with heavy belts, long crotches and pant length in general just looks bush league to me. Anyone else have a suggestion on another brand they'd prefer that hasn't already been discussed?
  9. That's no good. Neither is Houston's secondary. Oh well, overall this is still a win in my book.
  10. Well, these are light years better than the AAF and have a very clear, defined style. I'm a little shocked at some of the color allocations...especially Dallas getting old Oilers colors, and Tampa not getting Bucs colors...but overall, these are a giant win for me. Dallas, New York, and Tampa especially are standouts. The Dallas Renegades marks are f***ing outstanding!!!
  11. TEXAS: Houston Roughnecks - Blue/Red/White, surprised Dallas Renegades - Light Blue/Red/Black - BEAUTIFUL. This is my squad!!!!
  12. Seattle Dragons - another great logo & wordmark. Beautiful. LA Wildcats. Red/Gold. Didn't see that coming. DC Defenders - Red/White (no blue)
  13. New York Guardians - Grey/Black/Red...another great logo. These wordmarks are really good.
  14. Seattle Battle Hawks....great logo, it's a hit for me. Tampa Bay Vipers - Kelly/Lime Green + Yellow. Very solid logo.
  15. That certainly has a good ring to it. I could see Washington Battlehawks or Washington Renegades as well.
  16. The Light Blue/Black/Red teaser image seems like it could surely fit with a "Hawk" logo. Houston Battlehawks would be my guess, if that is indeed a name.
  17. Brad Shephard is reporting this on Twitter. He's almost always breaking or confirming inside news at WWE and obviously has a higher-up source.
  18. Kind of a bigoted take. Let me guess, this was posted in skinny jeans or...khakis? Oh, I'm sorry..."chinos". Back on topic, please.
  19. This is a nice layout that makes a lot of sense. Selfishly hoping the Light Blue/Red/Black is for Houston and not LA. Houston Highwaymen? I also still think it makes sense for the Red/Orange/Black to be Tampa in large part because of Raymond James Stadium. It also seems like some of these color combos relate to the cities' other athletic histories (Seattle's Green/Yellow, Houston potentially in Light Blue/Red) so that would align. But, as you laid out, the video teases don't line up. It's fun to guess. Anxiously awaiting 12:30pm. I hope they also unveil an official licensing/apparel partner (UA would be great for them) and have good merch ready to go.
  20. It’s amazing, considering what a leak machine WWE is, that these names haven’t leaked yet, especially the night before the reveal.
  21. Completely subjective take, as is mine. I deal with athletic team branding every single day, and in my professional opinion, the only AAF logo & color scheme that was marginally acceptable was San Diego’s. The rest were a debacle, not even on the level of many MiLB branding, and part of the reason the league didn’t catch fire. The poor identities, names, logos and color choices severely hindered that league’s ability to pull in fans. And those designs bled over into the uniforms, which were equally as bad, if not worse. My fear all along has been that the XFL would make the same mistake. That potential, after seeing these teases, still exists. The XFL needs to set a seriously high bar with this unveiling. It’s taken them long enough that, if they fail here, it could be indicative of their future success. These identities need to be perfectly executed to get fan buy-in. Especially when your first 2 signings are Landry Jones and Ryan Mallett. One thing we can likely assume from these teases is that these logos will all look and feel similar, ala the AAF. What they needed to do was strike a balance between modern and timeless, like the NFL. Many here love traditional uniforms and logos, but I don’t see much simple Dallas Stars or Chicago “C” logo teases here. Many feel like they may be overdesigned. I 100% hope I’m wrong and the XFL has nailed it. With the rumor of a “Vipers” team and several teases here, you can consider me nervous. I want this league to long-lasting and successful.
  22. The Red/White and the Royal/Grey/White scare me. Those are really drab on their own. Part of what scares me is that this looks like Joe Bosack work again. I pray that it's not. Joe hits it out of the park with event/conference/tournament logos, but really has, more times than not, missed on team identities. The AAF is the most devastating example of that.
