  1. This is perfect and all they needed to do. Who created this concept?
  2. This also perfectly illustrates why they used an older Schutt Air XP helmet to show off the Black lid; imagine how bad that decal will look (and last) on a SpeedFlex or F7? It'll be above the first section on both. Good god, do these people even think?
  3. Adding the colors from the state flag might actually be the spice this dull brand needs. Drop the Black, add Navy/Orange/Gold. It's already in the logo. They've already got Gold in the logo, but if you add just that, it'll be too close to Kansas City & Washington, so swap in some Navy & Orange...subtly.
  4. You can be petty, I'll be petty with you - this is extremely lazy and pathetic from Nike. First of all, the Bengals previous CR unis with the 1-color block numbers were extremely perfect, so that was the 1st foul. Then, you take a franchise like Washington, one of the oldest franchises in the league, rebrand it with a military theme, and then give it skinny, curvy, feminine number sets? I dig the stencil, but just really poor. All they had to do was adapt either of these:
  5. I don't like it either, but it was on the original Away uniform I'm referencing, and with Arizona's horrendous color palette, it's an element that has existed in the team's history that allows for another design detail, and one that provides color.
  6. For the Cardinals, it really is not complicated: Start here and slightly modify. HOME - move TV numbers to shoulders - add PVC patch of state flag to sleeve caps - military-style name patch or team patch on left chest - updated, but mostly wide block-style numbers - Cardinals logo on right hip of pant, or on top of narrowed pant stripes on outer hip - add subtle details elsewhere if desired: inside back neck, back neck patch, thin sock stripes, or, at worst, team name above front number AWAY - use sleeve stripe pattern as the cuff stripe (like LSU) - use PVC patch of state flag on sleeve caps - match font to home jersey - match subtle detailing to home jersey - wear White pant with away jersey, possibly stripeless (don't need stripes on both jersey & pants) - add Cardinals logo to pant front hip opposite Swoosh or on top of stripes on outer hips - maintain sock stripes ALT - "Desert" alts: copper, sand, coyote brown, black, slate or red blend. Have seen some really decent concepts of this, namely this one: Simple, easy, very effective update. They'll muck it up, though.
  7. I said something similar about the away jersey a few pages back. That and the black helmet are the really big misses on this set. I'd like to see this mock-up with the stripes adjusted to mirror the home jersey...that would fix it completely.
  8. If the Saints do a satin/matte White helmet to wear with their Color Rush alts.... *chef's kiss* Hopefully an alternate for Arizona means they're finally getting all new uniforms period. I can't believe Kyler would be going into this 3rd season still hating their uniforms. Would be a treat to finally see Philly wearing the Kellys. It would be nice if Carolina did a blue helmet instead of BFBS. Cincy's gotta be the White Bengal Tiger gimmick.
  9. Brutal. So much potential, some really good things...and they just messed it up on the whole. PROS: - "W" logo is solid - "Commanders" is fine considering the region. - Round Logo is nice - Satin Burgundy helmet is actually really nice. It would be a better option on the Black uniform, with a black facemask. - Black uniform is nice, something trendy for the young crowd. I don't mind the unique nameplate, but will be interesting to see it on the field in regards to lengths of last names. CONS: - White jersey is immediately the worst in the NFL. Excluded Gold for the sake of Black. Just really bad. Home/away jerseys should have matching main elements, such as stripes, fonts. HORRIFIC. This should've been so easy. Even if they insisted on the silly gradients...add Gold behind the Maroon, and it would look fine, and save all the black for the black uniform. - No Gold pants. Need a set for the home uniforms. Lack of stripes is expected, it'll be fine. - No color on Black pants; Burgundy & Gold look great on Black, why leave it off? Again, goes back to stripes conundrum. - Black helmet is abysmal. Why not satin finish, like the primary. Looks way better. Logo on front with numbers on side just terrible. This makes the Jaguar's gradient helmet look good. Overall, close, but you fudged it up bad in the end.
  10. This looks like the Detroit Lions. The sea foam green Cowboys deal isn't going anywhere, it's as much a part of the uniform as the Star. Not everything has to match perfectly in an identity, especially legacy ones.
  11. Sport-Tek does not produce (print) custom shirts. They are a blank apparel brand owned by wholesale distributor Sanmar. These were likely printed by someone else, maybe someone with inside info, maybe someone just trying to make a buck, but the absence of any official tags, team logo, and the generic font are all indicators that these are knockoffs, even if they did make it into some local store that sells official gear.
  12. The only numbering change that should happen is allowing WRs to wear 1-9. To avoid any further numbering changes, team should simply unretire jersey numbers, which is an unsustainable concept, as, over time, they will just run out of numbers. A 315lb DT wearing number 6 is stupid. A QB wearing #95 is stupid. A CB wearing #99 is stupid. There is a numbering system for a reason. It's amazing that some of the same people who flip out over half a sock not being white, are okay with obliterating a traditional numbering system that helps identify positional players on the field, makes the rules of the game more manageable and enforceable, and facilitates continuing tradition.
  13. Are you saying this new logo is worse than the previous?
  14. They'd stand out like a sore thumb. Sorry, but this wouldn't look very good at all. The Black pants didn't even look good with the Grey tops and they wouldn't even with Grey socks due to the pant stripe. The Grey pants might look fine with the Black tops, but either way, they should always be wearing Black socks.
  15. Are you saying these aren't manufactured by Nike?
  16. I can’t imagine how many pages of posts there’d be if Nike manufactured these uniforms and this happened.
  17. New York looked outstanding in their Grey uniforms yesterday. Black helmet, black socks and black/red uniform details were perfectly balanced without being overdesigned. Beautiful.
  18. These are all still really bad. New York, one of the better ones, still looks like a Create-A-Team template in Madden. The number fonts are infuriating, as is all of the side panel bull :censored:. Dallas will be the tell tonight. Their helmet is actually outstanding. It just kills me that these are all so similar, and not in good ways. You can tell these all come from one designer who had a "look" they liked. Individual design teams should've designed these for each franchise, within a set of rules, and the overseeing art director should've demanded certain teams be traditional, certain modern, certain in-between to give variety. Right now, this looks like Arena League on grass.
  19. If they can screw up something this simple, so badly, that leaves me no faith in the rest of the league. Their uniforms and logos are mostly a debacle, and being a lifelong wrestling fan, I know when Vince’s fingerprints are on something and this is Vince. He can’t just leave well enough alone. They have no stars, no major brand affiliations, and there’s nothing to get excited about on the football side, and stuff like this just makes it worse.
  20. I am now officially off the XFL bandwagon. What a debacle. Vince just couldn't help himself.
  21. Tampa’s stadium will look nothing like that, considering it’s mostly Red in real life. I still don’t get the color choices of this league.
  22. I'm aware. From the head up, when those 2 teams play each other, nothing more than decals are going to set them apart. Idiocy on the league's behalf.
  23. I never stated that these teams would both play each other wearing black. Ever. Anywhere. What I said was, with LA going to Black facemasks, these teams are nearly identical outside of 1 of 3 team colors, the logo and name, and a slight variation of the number font. It's inexcusable team brand planning for an 8-team league. They could literally remove the decals and swap helmets if needed. New York should've had Houston's Silver helmets. At the very least, one of the Black helmeted teams could've chosen a matte/satin finish or a tasteful two-tone paint/stripe scheme. I just can't believe this league's aesthetic decisions. Except for one thing: the Dallas Renegades helmet may be one of the nicest football helmets ever designed. It's absolutely gorgeous.
