  1. This is what the Bills should wear, period: This rule WORKS for every team with White helmets. There can be exceptions, and they are almost always when a pant color that is not White is light, like Yellow, Silver/Grey, or even Powder Blue. When you wear a dark color pant with White or Silver helmets, it doesn't look as good. Patriots are another example. Everything is better when they wear Grey or White pants. Ditto for the Lions and Panthers. Imagine the Raiders wearing Black pants.
  2. This is what makes me laugh. This board will weep into their keyboards about the Vikings font, then turn around and slobber over the Ravens font. Same board will crap all over the Chiefs going mono-Red or Bills wearing Blue pants, then turn around and say, "I'm trying to figure out how there's people who actually prefer white pants to color pants". Insane.
  3. No, I'm not. White/White/Blue on Buffalo looks like someone forgot to paint the helmet, and they just ran out there with a molded White shell that they slapped decals on. It's stupid and it's out of balance. You can like it, and I can hate it, but that's not being contrarian.
  4. I don't mind the Powder Blues with the White jersey, but hate them with the Navy, and the White over White look is still a very good uniform. There's always an exception to a rule, but for the most part, if a team is wearing a light helmet with dark pants, the look is unbalanced. You'll notice the two best exceptions here are Yellow & Powder Blue, which are not "dark" colors, which lessens the bottom-heavy feel of the combination. Compare that to the Jets, Patriots, Bills, and Dolphins examples you gave.
  5. Glad you spent the time sourcing these photos for me to confirm for you that all of these combinations are trash. They'd all look better with color-matched pants or White pants. The only exception may be the Chargers when wearing Blue jerseys, but not White.
  6. One challenge with the Ravens is that Purple/Black/Gold are dark & dull. I don't count White as it's a neutral and doesn't really solve the issue, but one way to revitalize the look of this team is to add something that fits the brand, yet pops off while complimenting the core colors. This might be really hard to pull off in a uniform, but it'd be a neat concept to explore if you were a uniform designer: Add a little Raven Red. It's technically already a part of their brand, along with Yellow, in the Shield /Maryland Flag logo. The two shades of Purple would also be an interesting design element to explore in a uniform...if done tastefully.
  7. Fair argument, but one could also counter that those fonts in baseball are akin to Full Block fonts in football (Packers, Cowboys, Raiders, Chiefs). I don't think classifying 90's goofy drop shadow gothic font and College Block in the same category is fair. The Red Sox have been around since like 1901. Different historical value. Every part of the Ravens helmet is dated and so are other parts of their identity, including the wordmarks, logos, lettering font inside the logos, and number font, none of which have been updated since 1999. They can do better. And once they do, the old uniform will instantly look like an ancient relic that they held on to for way too long.
  8. Yes. Happy to let you show me examples of where dark pants/light helmet look better than a matching or light-color pant.
  9. The Ravens font is peak 90's. It's a generic gothic-style font that would not be used in any application today. It's dated and while it may have become synonymous with its brand identity, that doesn't make it good. It's time for an update.
  10. I do miss these Bills uniforms. I hate when Miami wears Aqua pants, period. As someone else said, pants should never be darker than the helmet, it just looks bottom-heavy.
  11. Justin Jefferson wore what the whole team should be wearing when they go mono-Purple. The Black socks/cleats/accessories compliments the face guard and little bit of Black in the logo and is just a solid look. Vikings unis are strong when they wear them right.
  12. Hard to say what looks better, Teal socks or Black: Both are perfectly acceptable. If it's a Black cleat/accessories day, Black socks should be the choice. Otherwise, I like Teal and I actually don't hate the White, as it works with their jersey numbers. Their jersey numbers are some of the best in the league, by the way. This photo is also further proof that the Lions number font sucks and they should never wear Blue pants with the White jersey. Grey pants first, then White.
  13. Chiefs (White/White) vs. Bucs (Red/Pewter) - Mahomes vs Brady II (Super Bowl LV rematch) - Pat sends Tom into retirement and inherits the throne Chiefs (White/White) vs Vikings (Purple/White) - Super Bowl IV rematch, but with uniforms flipped Chiefs (White/White) vs 49ers (Red/Gold) - Super Bowl LIV rematch, but with uniforms flipped Chiefs (Red/White) vs Cowboys (White/Cowboy Teal Blue Silver whatever its called) - two iconic old school uniforms - these two franchises have only met 12 times. Rare matchup. - Original Dallas Texans storyline Yes, I am a Chiefs fan, but the only other AFC team I'd be excited about seeing in a Super Bowl is Jacksonville. I'm already tired of Buffalo & Cincy.
  14. A Teal Jaguars helmet would not be a bad thing as it would be entirely unique to the league, but it must be worn with the right uniform combination. If they went with Teal as their true primary jersey, it works, and they could bring out a Black helmet as an alternate for their Black jerseys (only). This is why: Now, the helmet wouldn't look like that because the NFL doesn't allow Black chinstraps or bumpers, but you get the idea...it's not the best choice over a Black jersey (unless worn over Teal pants, which is their worst combination). However, the helmet in theory is not bad: I'd be interested in seeing better mock-ups with the current uniform and their combos, along with a Black faceguard, to really decide. I'd absolutely support a matte White helmet - if the NFL allowed Black bumpers & chinstraps. With a Black faceguard, their logo, and a little bit of teal accents on wordmarks on the bumpers, it'd be a nice look as an alternate worn with all-White unis, and maybe Teal over White.
  15. This would have been just about perfect. I'd retain the 2-color stripe on the pants from the previous uniform but otherwise, this is what really should've happened and it's a real shame that it didn't. White over White would not have been a bad look for this team with the appropriate pant striping. Or, if there was any team that had the history to wear stripeless pants, it'd be Washington. With a striped sock, they could've gone with plain pants, and it would have worked perfectly. Not sure how others feel, but I think the new Commanders helmet is actually really good.
  16. There's nothing distracting. It's uniform. The shoes match the socks. Player silhouettes are elongated, which is more visually appealing; less chunky. Primary colors pop even more. Especially on the helmet, which in this case, is a good helmet. It's a clean, minimalist look, and with White uniforms, it almost always works. You'll be surprised to hear that I almost always hate all-Black uniforms. The 49ers' Black CR unis a few years back were the exception, just because of how well Red & Gold popped off the Black in their case. I hate it when the Jets, Jags, Ravens, etc. do it. Steelers get a pass because again, their Gold pops off really well.
  17. They're due, for sure. The number font is atrocious, and the helmet isn't great, especially that late 90's striping that no one uses anymore. The Purple pants are the only thing that works.
  18. I think the Lions looked good tonight, both in uniform and in their play.
  19. Players shouldn't even be allowed to enter the game looking like this. #1, shame on the Saints. This looks like they're wearing Junior High practice pants. #2, shame on Kamara. This looks super dumb but he's obviously doing it for attention.
  20. Not a huge fan of most mono combos, but I really don't hate how the Jags look in their current set. The White block numbers on the simple jersey are just so clean. It'd be nice if they just made a very subtle update to add some Gold into the uniform, like the Swoosh on the sleeves and just small slivers of it on the edge of the black on the sleeves/pants/socks. Just adding a little touch of Gold without overdoing it would go a long way.
  21. It's pretty much up to the player. I think the only rule they must enforce is that the Yellow stripe must be on the sock somewhere, because I swear some of the guys just wear White leggings and then cut the stripe out of the sock and wear that over their ankle or calf: I also noticed that in pregame, JuJu & Juan Thornhill were wearing all White socks/leggings, but in the game, they had the Yellow stripe or an additional sock on over top. White on White is the only combination my Chiefs should wear on the road. I'd be just fine with them burning the Red pants.
  22. My favorite thread on this board. When have official announcements regarding new uniforms been made by teams in past years? Playoff time, if I remember correctly, with unveilings before or at the draft?
