  1. Yep, that would do it for me. If that thin Panther Blue stripe ended in a point, about an inch or so from the bottom of the helmet in back, cool too. Gotta burn the Black pants, though.
  2. Would excite & sadden me at the same time. I've long wanted someone to use Matte White b/c it can be so sweet with the right mask/decals. It would sadden me because again, it looks best with Black, and therefore Black hardware, which can't be used in the NFL. It would also sadden me because that means no more Silver helmets for the Panthers. I'm telling you, the Panthers just need to keep the same helmet and change the striping out for a solid thick Black stripe with a thin Panther Blue stripe in the middle and it would be perfect.
  3. Helmet is great. Home jersey should have Grey yokes and Yellow-Gold sleeve bands. Hard fail. Number font is freaking horrific. Jersey collar is so bush league amateur that I won't watch the USFL just because if someone thinks these are okay, I don't trust that they think the rest of the product is okay. Now that I saw the helmet in motion a little bit, the Yellow-Gold stripe is too thick. Rule of thumb: if the stripe is over 1" wide, it has to be a multi-stripe or multi-color stripe pattern.
  4. Haha, this is definitely one of the things I'm peculiar about, to say the least. I love that the NFL doesn't allow it, in a way, as it keeps things uniform and traditional, but at the same time, it has the potential to take some new helmet designs from a B to an A+ real quick. I almost want them to allow it for redesigns only for teams that have Black as a color; I don't want the Steelers or Raiders to start using Black helmet bumpers, even though it's a team color, because it would ruin their classic signature helmets with the White bumpers.
  5. PVC patch...is that a first in the NFL for on-field jersey use?
  6. Agree. The XFL 2.0 version of the Renegades helmet was far superior to the 2023 version. Dwayne Johnson should be slapped for letting this Renegades helmet on the field. Still, this wouldn't look nearly as good in the NFL with the ban on Black helmet hardware, and it also would destroy the Panthers' best look, which is this:
  7. Agree on both. Sounds like they're sticking with White, but adding a Tillman uniform and using Sand or "Desert Sand" as a team color regardless makes sense. Truly hope Carolina doesn't use the Black helmet and that's one of the prime reasons why. When they made the slight adjustments in 2012 to the primary logo, it made it perfect for them and on the Silver helmet. All they need to do with the helmet is update the stripes to something that doesn't scream 1995. If they've decided to absolutely ditch Silver, it'll be really sad. If they did, I hope they would've considered an XFL 2.0 Dallas Renegades shell instead of Black. Even then, the Red is what made those complete, as did the Black hardware & bumpers: That helmet stripe, on Carolina's existing helmet, using Panther Blue as the center stripe instead of Red, would be perfect for Carolina, even if the thin Panther Blue inside stripe ended in a sharp point in the back bottom, inside of the straight Black stripe.
  8. Is this also coming from the ASFN board? If so, I'm about to sign up.
  9. I'm now a believer in Sand, Cardinal, and Black, thanks to Nike's "Serpientes" City Connect uniforms for the Diamondbacks. I needed to see it in real life. The Cardinal logo and Cardinal Red would pop off of the neutral & strongly-contrasting palette of Sand/Black:
  10. I don't want to see a Sand helmet/Sand jersey combo, but I would be interested in seeing a Red or Black facemask on that "Desert Sand" helmet... I could even look forward to a Desert Sand helmet/Black alt jersey/Desert Sand pant/Black sock uniform with Cardinal Red accents sprinkled tastefully throughout.
  11. Also, I will say, I love the idea of them never having a Cardinal pant again, if the helmet stays White. I absolutely deplore it when a team's pant color is darker than their helmet. So unbalanced.
  12. I can support the design, I just can't support anything in life that is "greige". Ask my wife.
  13. Agree on Carolina. They have what I call a "new classic" and the fact that they've not changed it once in almost 30 years, except for minor updates, while Jacksonville, who they entered the league with, has changed their look more times than I can count, just makes me sad to know they're going to finally ditch the look. I hope it's just a tasteful update; I truly hope they keep the Silver helmet and standard block number font (with no team name), but I'm sure the font will be the first thing they look to update below a fire new team name logo on the front chest. The Cardinals have such a terrible color palette when you consider it's basically Cardinal Red & White. I'd be happy to see them expand their brand with a Sand color as it actually makes sense and wouldn't be a forced add. Highlights of Navy & Yellow-Gold from the state flag on a Cardinal & Sand uniform could result in something pretty unique to pro sports, and that's the kind of revamp the Cardinals desperately need to gain some brand relevancy for the first time...ever. I would be hard-pressed to name a team in the NFL with less brand power.
  14. Silver with the Carolina Blue is kinda what makes their brand so unique. Plenty of teams in sports use Columbia Blue/Carolina Blue/Light Blue whatever you wanna call it, but I can't think of another team that uses it with Black & Silver. If they ditch Silver, it'll be a tragedy. I know, it's not technically Carolina Blue, it's "Panther Blue" or Electric Cyan or whatever, but you get my point.
  15. If Arizona makes a change this year...thank God, it's about time. I'll be sad to see Carolina's go. Especially since they'll be jerks and use a Black helmet...
  16. Grey works extremely well with Black & Yellow-Gold. Really, it works well with Black and any other medium bright hue. Added Anthracite to my alma mater who is Black & Yellow-Gold; I basically got crucified for it because “iT IzNt a tEAm CuLleR” but it looked fantastic.
  17. That logic actually probably made sense to whatever idiot designed them and whatever idiot signed off on the final designs.
  18. I'm aware. My point was the shape of the stripe is horrific and very late 90's, early 2000's high school era with the front front tapering into a point. Very bush league. It would be fine if it were just a standard 2-3" wide straight stripe.
  19. Was never a fan of vertical stripes on sleeves/shoulders, and never will be.
  20. Both of Seattle's helmets (2020 White and 2023 Orange) both were good starts, but the logos & decals have failed each. 2020 WHITE HELMET: Good color balance with the Dark Green faceguard, but the horrific oversized team logo & horrific tapered stripe ruined it, and as mentioned above, it had no business being paired with that horrific uniform. The 2023 Orange helmet would've gone better with that set. 2023 ORANGE HELMET: Great shell finish with the Anodized Orange, and the logo is clean and well-sized. Then they decided to poop on all of that by plastering a giant tapered dragon skin stripe down the middle of it. Idiots. The 2023 Orange helmet pairs well with the Away White jersey and Orange pants, but I'm of the opinion that Orange helmet/Orange jersey is too much Orange. I would've preferred they kept the White helmet and wore White pants with both jerseys, but then you have 2 White helmets in an 8-team league, and DC looks much better in their White helmets than they did in Red helmets, choosing Orange was safe here. Seattle could have a nice look if they deleted the Navy shoulder stripes from both jerseys and just had a solid color jersey, and then streamlined the helmet stripe to a straight, standard width. They could even keep the silly pattern to match the side of their pants. The number font is no good either. It should have some Orange on the White jersey, which is entirely devoid of Orange except for the sleeve logos. In reality, this league is just a bunch of small tweaks to each team's uniforms away from having really respectable look. Someone give Dwayne my number.
  21. I think the Blue pants are hideous and should never be worn again.
  22. I don't remember seeing this but I do remember banging the drum for it at the time. Would've been a major upgrade over what they did in the end.
  23. I appreciate that the artist made the fleur-de-lis match the number font, but it does look odd, and removing an outline does make it look smaller. Perhaps they should use this version if they ever use a White helmet: The additional thick Black border keeps the original logo intact, and on a White helmet, the White outline wouldn't be lost next to the helmet, and it gives the logo back its weight. I'd have to see it in real life to determine if it truly works, but it's a thought. Check that: it's what the Saints do when they use their logo on White, so that's what they'd have to do on a helmet, which looks great:
  24. Sir, this is a Wendy’s.
  25. They will need to tighten up this rule eventually, I think - and I hope. I'm a Chiefs fan, so I'll use some of these guys as examples. QBs should be limited to 0-19. No NFL QB should ever have to wear something higher than #19. RBs should be limited to 0-9, 20-49. I love Isiah Pacheco. But I hate him in #10. WRs should be limited to 0-19, 80-89. I like Skyy Moore, but a receiver wearing #24 looks stupid. DL/LBs should be limited to 40-79, 90-99. I appreciate what Carlos Dunlap did for the Chiefs this year, but he looked ridiculous wearing #8. Nick Bolton looked better in #54 than he did in #32. DBs should be limited to 0-9, 20-49. No DB needs to wear a number in the teens. Reserve those numbers for QBs, WRs, Ks, and Ps.
