  1. A black helmet for the Cardinals?!! What genius and innovation. Haven’t seen anything like this all week long!

It is quite odd how many of these have dropped this week out of nowhere. It’s almost like teams are coming up with these as we speak, but meanwhile teams like the Bucs that have wanted throwbacks for years have to wait for “supply chain issues” to resolve.

  2. These just continue to get worse by the day.  The Bears, one of the most traditional teams of all time now suddenly needs an orange helmet?  They, like Houston, ruined a solid alternate look that had a nice balance of color by removing pretty much all navy. At this point, nothing will shock me anymore. Green Packers helmet, navy Cowboys helmet, you name it. Absolute nightmare.

I'm sure they'll eventually mix and match the helmet with all kinds of jersey and pants combos. This goes for a lot of teams introducing an alt helmet

Right? If the Saints somehow don’t ever decide to pair the black helmet with the black jersey and pants, I would be pleasantly shocked.

Caught that. It's not an actual poll. They're just going for likes and replies

Yeah, but I think they’re implying that they will consider mixing it with other jersey and pant colors.

  5. The Bengals tweeted asking what uniform they should pair their white helmets with. I thought the whole point was for the white tiger look exclusively, but now it could be a Rams 2017 white horns with gold numbers type of situation.

  6. I can live with Washington wearing black for 1 out of 9 home games, but the Jets on the other hand are wearing black for 3 out of 8 home games, and they will surely wear white for a game or 2. Their green color that they are known for will barely be worn, which is just unacceptable. Sure there are 17 TOTAL games, but most alternates are worn at home, cutting that number in half.

Just curious but how are the Eagles considered to be BFBS? Black is literally part of their color palette.. IMO a team like the Lakers would be considered BFBS over the Eagles.

It is a trim color, and they used to wear a black jersey with a GREEN helmet and WHITE pants, which was tolerable for a game. Now somehow all three elements are black, and it will surely be worn at least twice.

Looking at the Eagles helmet....and man does it feel pointless.  It doesn't add anything to their look, and feels like they mailed it in just to have it around.

Let’s just pray they are not allowed to keep it next year when the Kelly green throwback look comes back. But I’m not counting on that.

I feel like these comments are completely overdramatic.

NFL teams wearing a different helmet for 3 games a season is nothing compared to other leagues. NBA, MLB, college teams and soccer teams have "city" uniforms throughout that sometimes have zero connection to their team's brand but rather their location.

Variety is popular in sports and fans don't want to see the same uniforms every single week.

There are only 17 games in a season. Fans were already getting plenty of variety before teams started adding unnecessary second helmets.

Never. They learned their lesson about monochrome vs. monochrome with similar colors after the colorblind color rush debacle. I highly doubt the return/continuation of mono-black will do anything to change that.

I assure you I was being sarcastic. Just mocking this bizarre, inexplicable league-wide obsession.

  11. I'm curious what this means for New York's Color Rush white throwbacks. Will those only be worn once now? It's so unclear what therules are at this point.

And is that black Panthers look considered Color Rush, or has the assumption that alternate helmets can't be worn with standard jerseys been put to rest? The Saints seemingly couldn't pair the black helmet with the black jersey (Thank God) because they wanted to keep their white Color Rush, which has me thinking this is the case for Carolina.

With these new throwbacks we should see throwbacks from mismatching eras way more often. Like imagine if the bears wear the 1936 throwback against this Giants uniform from the 90s. And the giants classics vs the commanders gradient textured away numbers should be interesting.

I always enjoy a nice mix of traditional vs. modern. It always makes the overdesigned uniforms look a little less offensive when at least one of the teams looks good.

Very interesting use of the new helmet rule, that I’ll say,

Yeah, this seems like they just wanted to get in on the fun, when they basically could've brought back this look any time in the past decade.

I hate monochrome uniforms so much

Well the good news is that. at this rate, every team in the league will soon have a helmet that matches the rest of its uniform. In the year 2022, contrast and creativity equals bad.

Ah alright. Sheesh, it’s real frustrating when a teams brand can get so loose and messy that you couldnt even say with authority what they would wear in the super bowl if they happened to make it. (almost like they know they never will and just dont care)

Both teams from the Super Bowl this year mixed and matched a ton throughout the season, but I agree this is usually not the case for Super Bowl teams.

  16. One question that no one seems to have addressed is whether this snow tiger look will be a home or road alternate look.

In 2020, the team wore white Color Rush at home twice and orange only once, which was disappointing.

In 2021, they wore orange three times once the Color Rush had basically become the standard road uniform.

Now we are back with two alternate looks in the mix, which I'm not a fan of, especially when the team already has numerous jersey/pant/sock combinations AND since the 'rule' is that three alternate games is supposed to be the max. I personally hope the orange is favored and worn twice with the white being worn once.

  17. I'm gonna go ahead and predict the rest of the Texans schedule.

The ones in bold I think are a lock:

    1 vs. IND blue/white vs. white/white

    2 at DEN white/navy vs. orange/white

    3 at CHI white/navy vs. navy/white

    4 vs. LAC white/white vs. navy/white

    5 @ JAC white/navy vs. teal/black

    7 @LV white/navy vs. black/silver

    8 vs. TEN white/white vs. navy/white

9 vs. PHI white/black vs. red/white (really hope the Eagles wear green pants here)

    10 @NYG white/navy vs. blue/white

    11 vs. WAS white/white vs. navy/white

12 at MIA white/navy vs. aqua/white (I am hopeful the Fins wear aqua at this point like they've done before last season)

    13 vs. CLE white/brown at navy/white

14 at DAL navy/navy vs. white/mint (Just have a feeling they spice things up here as some teams have done in Dallas before)

15 vs. KC white/red vs. navy Color Rush (with the red and white being worn in the first half of the season, the Color Rush will likely be toward the end of the season)

    16 at TEN white/navy vs. Columbia/navy

17 vs. JAC white/black vs. navy/white (would love to see the teal pants here)

    18 at IND white/navy vs. blue/white
