So according to GUD, we only have two games for week 1 where we know nothing about what either team is wearing: New England at Miami and Los Vegas at LAC. I think white at home for Miami and powder blue for LA is a safe assumption, but I'm surprised neither the Dolphins nor the Chargers have announced uniforms. They've done that in the past.
I assume that will be a white jersey game for the Chargers, although the Raiders have not visited them this early in the season in a long time. Maybe they don’t want them in their silver and black in their building and it will in fact be powder. But take that site with a grain of salt because he posts assumptions and changes stuff all the time. For instance, he has Seahawks games filled in with all navy when they mixed in gray pants last season.

Bills will don the blueberries to open the NFL Season
The Bills always dress their locker room mannequin in their game-week attire
I saw this a few days ago. If true, that didn’t take long for the first surprise of the season.
It definitely won’t happen, but if the Rams somehow also wore blue pants, I’m sure that would be the first ever matchup with both teams in royal blue pants.

Doubt it. Denver has worn orange against Cincinnati and Cleveland in recent years. They seem to just wear navy for random games. I’m surprised they are doing it for multiple Sunday night games with how much they love their orange over there.

Another one. But man, why is it so hard for these teams to pick good opponents for alternate jerseys? We already saw navy against San Fran last meeting in 2014 and against KC last season. Would’ve rather seen it against Indy in Week 5 and Arizona in Week 15. I like Color Rush vs. the Raiders though. That works nicely. Probably will be a silver jersey number game for Vegas.

They really had to choose the Texans again for the throwback game?
I would've preferred the Lions game in Week 10. They have worn navy vs. Detroit every year since 2011. Plus, this would have prevented an 8 week stretch of no navy jerseys, which is not something anyone would've expected from this franchise.
One interesting thing I noticed is that the full article includes the pant colors, and Week 18 vs. Minnesota will be all-navy.

Why do these teams now think it is bad to have contrasting elements? Couldn't keep a speck of navy anywhere? Why? For what reason?

Everybody does, or did. The response to a small, tiny, criticism is asinine.
I wouldn't even call it criticism. We simply communicated that we love the way it has always been on here and don't understand why it had to change. It was more of a suggestion than anything. Most people who provide any kind of feedback start by saying they appreciate his work anyway. I doubt anyone expected a reaction like this over something we were clearly going to acknowledge was different. I personally wouldn't have made any comment if I knew it would be perceived this way. I enjoy this thread very much during the season, so if this is the way canzman wants to do it, I can respect that, though I will miss scrolling through the full matchups on Monday mornings.

100% Miami wears white pants vs New England Week 1. 90+ degrees, and hardly ever wear the aqua pants with white jerseys at home in the last 5-10 years.
Yup. Adam Gase was the only recent coach who had them wear white over aqua pants at home at all.

I'm pretty surprised the Bengals have yet to use orange socks with their black pants. I think it would look better than the white socks.
I thought it looked good for this game. Hopefully they do this with the white jersey at some point.

The Giants look worse with the white pants.
Perhaps, but the Jets don't look worse in green than they do in black.

That Giants Jets game looked way better than their last regular season meeting.

Panthers in white socks is awful, but the Chargers Saints game right now is absolutely stunning.

Also not all of the TBDs are TBD. I can 100% say the Bears will wear white pants with their blue jersey
I think the same can be said about the Rams wearing sol/yellow bottoms on opening night.
One that I think should maybe be TBD is Houston. We’ve seen them wear navy socks or pants in the Liberty White home opener in recent seasons.

Not sure how others feel but I'm just gonna throw it out there that I much prefer the old way of doing this. I know it's not necessarily supposed to be a prediction thread, but I used to really enjoy looking through these and seeing the potential matchups, even if they weren't all confirmed. Having a bunch of TBDs of uniforms that don't even exist with the plain white pants just doesn't do it for me. Maybe others prefer this though, and I appreciate all the work as always!
I said the same thing a couple weeks ago and got ripped apart for it. Pretty sure 9 people downvoted it. I guess people have realized it isn’t quite as fun this way and there isn’t as much to discuss.

I'm with you. To me it's kinda pointless to have socks same color as pants. At that point it just becomes an extension of the pant itself, giving it the leotard look.
Their all-white look does the same thing. The black pants at least breaks up the pajama look and add a little something to give it some pop.

Decent looking game on ESPN tonight. It’s nice seeing the Jets in green in the preseason since they’re already scheduled to wear white or black for 5/8 home games this season, which is absurd.
And hats off to whoever within Atlanta’s organization got them consistently wearing black pants on the road.- 3

At least the Ravens decided to wear as much black as possible themselves. God forbid they wear purple or even white pants.
-
This look is far better from this angle that doesn’t reveal the matching socks or lack of pant stripes.

Do the Panthers really care that much about wearing black for a preseason game full of backups? Why not wear black for the Washington game and then wear blue for two home games in the regular season and wear black for the January Tampa game. If it’s only worn once, why waste it for a road game at the end of the season?
-
So Washington did not once show off or mock-up this white over burgundy combo since the unveil, yet they are already wearing it in game 2? I’m happy it won’t be white on white all the time, but wow does that bottom half need some contrast….

I've never thought the Cardinals uniforms are bad, they just belong in the year 2003.
*ducks behind counter*
While their pre-2005 uniforms were pretty timeless, they tied back to a very rough time in St. Louis, and even though they're the oldest franchise in the league, I don't think anyone in Phoenix really has a soft spot for the "heritage" of Cardinals football.
A modern get up works since their existence in Arizona really felt like it required a facelift -- afterall, their temporary way of making themselves feel re-born was simply slapping the Arizona flag on the sleeves.
I have no interest in them reverting to the ultra-simplified look of yesteryear, I would even be more intruiged if they adopted a new color scheme, possibly something similar to the Coyotes/D-Backs deeper red and sand aesthetic.
I agree. I'm worried it will either be oversimplified or they'll look too much like the Falcons.

I'd assume that the practice jerseys are just old, anyone know how often those get replaced? #6 is wearing a practice jersey with that old reebok NFL equipment logo on his collar, is that jersey 10+ years old?
A lot of teams seem to do this with previous uniform sets. I know the Dolphins have done it with their 2013 pants.

Eagles haven’t worn black socks with the all white look since 2018, but EA still has it as their default road look.

The only halfway logic I can conjure up is that both teams' color jerseys are two tones of the same hue (blue) whereas orange and blue contrast quite nicely.
Beyond that...yeah, I got nothing. (Except the Cowboys somehow always seem to get special dispensation because COWBOYS and all that jazz...)
I was thinking that as well about the color tones until I recalled that that exact pairing was allowed for a nationally-televised Thanksgiving matchup several years back.

The Broncos play at Seattle in the preseason often enough that I am okay with the greens to switch things up. I was also thinking it would be nice to see them vs. San Fran for once, but at the same time, I don’t like when teams automatically wear their alternate for every prime time game they have.
