WOW ridenlow71, I just thought that was a legend, never actually seen the Steeler’s watches. I would still rather get a ring compared to watch though. Conference championship rings are usually given out without much fanfare once camp starts. I think Patriots handed there’s out one day after practice in August, there was no ceremony. Players came to locker after practice and rings were in their locker’s waiting for them. Now some lesser teams might do something more but I doubt a Harbaugh coached team is going to actually “celebrate” losing the super bowl and having just won the Conference and lost the SB is not good enough for 49ers or Harbaugh. Can't belive for the second year in the row they could not keep the pics away from public till rings were actually handed out to players. Harbaugh is saying he has not seen the rings, they were locked up till tonight. That just ruins it. on the other hand they are the ugliest rings by far, it is ridiculous how ugly they are, who would even want to wear that? 2000 rings were much better and so are the Steelers rings that this looks like a cheap knock off.

Championship sports rings: Thank you for information on the heaviest rings and posting pics of Alabama rings...just Amazing. I am surprised they gave out 3 rings this year since last year they only gave out 2....good for them.

Anyone has any idea what is the heaviest championship ring every made? Let's say an average man ring size is 11. Comparing all the championship rings of the same size 11, I think the Marlins 2003 or Heat's 2012 ring might be the heaviest. I saw a Marlins ring in an auction, size 11.5 for about 114 grams. When Heat's rings came out Jostens said the rings were 115 grams but would not give the ring size. I think sizes between 9-14 vary by approximately 1-1.5 gram per increased each ring size. Even Patriots 2003 or Steelers 2008 which I think are the largest super bowl rings ever made weighed just about 100 grams for really large sizes of 13-14. I can't believe Marlins ring, with the now defunct logo is the largest ever, even bigger than super bowl rings! Ravens rings are coming out next week, I think their previous rings made by Jostens weighed around 66-67 grams for a size 11.

Disappointed with the new Alabama National Championship ring. I guess they were copying Tiffany's Super bowl ring for Giants but it did not come out good at all. Also did they give out anymore rings? In 2009 they handed out 3 rings, National Championship, BCS and SEC rings. Last year they only gave out 2 rings; BCS and National Championship ring. This year only one ring? Not even a BCS ring?
