  1. Yes, CSR, you are right. Did not think it would happen again but it appears all Tiffany rings are going to be smaller than Jostens rings. Hey Mike the last Tiffany ring for Giants was 30 MM. I have seen that ring side by side the Colts ring and it was slightly smaller. (2007 Giants ring is slightly smaller than Colts ring, although almost identical design) Since Denver ring is bigger than Colts ring then it is for sure larger than the 26 MM Sea Chickens ring.
  2. A 26 mm Super Bowl ring! It is official then. This is the first time that Super Bowl ring is smaller than the conference championship ring of the same year.
  3. Congrats on Denver AFC ring. It looks a lot bigger than I thought next to the 70 + grams 1998 SB ring.
  4. Hey Mike thanks for posting the article. Couple of things...not a single one of Bull's rings have any wording on top, no "World Champions", "Chicago Bulls". The White Sox ring is the most feminine and in my opinion the ugliest ring ever. Also teams these days give out lot more rings. Red Sox handed out over 550 rings for the 2004 WS. Lakers also hand out lot of rings, I heard over 300 were given out or extra rings that were purchased by players. Not only they give the same ring to Cheer Leaders, but yes, even Jack Nicholson, Penny Marshall and few other celebrities do get the same ring. Shaq alone I remember reading purchased nearly 20 rings from each of 3 that he won with Lakers. I think more teams should sell a toned down version of the ring to fans, I think that will happen soon enough. Both King's last Stanley Cup fan ring and Cardinals $5000.00 fan WS ring were very similar to the real ones.
  5. I think both Tiffany rings are about 40% smaller than Ravens ring. I cant imagine Seahawks ring is over 65 grams, 70 grams tops. I still don't understand how could Giants second ring be over 90 grams, it must be top heavy because it is the same size of their first ring which was 70 grams. Tifffany stated it was a "30 mm" ring which is small compared to Ravens ring which was around 40MM. Here is another Tiffany ring, TB compared to Ravens.
  6. Thanks for the comments guys. I think pretty much most teams have at least 2 ring versions. I know a staff member of a firm that works for Ravens got B level ring, It was smaller by about 50% and did not have the outer rail diamonds, (it was 10K and CZ). Also Saints had second tier rings that were much smaller and had CZ. Here is a cool pic, comparing coach Ditka's ring and Ray Lewis. Ditka wears his ring every day but I wonder if he would wear it daily if it was as big as Ranven's ring. That ring can not be comfortable to wear at all.
  7. Here are lowest tier Miami Heat rings, Staff II rings, None gold and CZ, but as far as dimensions they are bigger than most championship rings out there, including most recent Super Bowl ring.
  8. Yes, Karl, all I am saying is that since all the championship rings from all other sports are getting bigger we can't have a super bowl ring that small. At least should have had players ring much larger and made different tier rings for staff. Here are different Miami Heat rings for comparison. Miami Heat 2013 Players ring at 135 grams vs "Executive A" ring at 85 grams, and Miami Heat Players vs "Friend and Family" 2012 ring.
  9. Not even bigger than Stanford Orange Bowl ring. Stanford, never mind FSU National championship ring.
  10. Super Bowl ring, half a size of SEC championship ring is not cool! I don't care who made it or how cool it looks.
  11. I see your point ridenlow, I think it comes down to personal taste, I am pretty sure it’s not an everyday ring, but for a few hours at a wine tasting event, that would be a good occasion to wear it if you ask me. Most players I read about keep asking for larger rings, more bling. I think Ravens ring is perfect size for me, just really big and flashy, I don’t like the team or logo but I like the design of the ring. I would probably do what the Heat do. For the past 2 years they have ordered 6 different rings. Player’s ring which is 135 grams and the largest and heaviest ring ever made. Executive A, identical to players ring but about 40% smaller ,weighs about 85 grams of 14K gold, that is the one Pat Riley wears every day. Executive B ring, Staff I, Staff II and “Family and Friends” ring which are all the same size, about 70 grams of 10 K gold or about 60 grams when it’s made out of lustrum and cz (they have round stones on top instead of baguettes). The family and friends rings are the ones players, high level executives can order for their friends or significant others (all the players’ wives, Pat Riley’s wife can be seen wearing them at the games). They are all smaller than player’s rings but still pretty large rings but definitely more comfortable than the 135 gram players ring. I have pics of most of them for size comparison, I will try to post them later on tonight.
  12. I just think the ring is way too small for what a super bowl ring should be. In the world of 90 grams Stanley Cup rings, 110+ grams NBA championship rings, 85+ grams Grey cup rings the super bowl ring should not be that small and weigh around 70 grams. That ring is half the size of Raven's ring and all other recent championship rings made by Jostens. It is interesting that there were no players involved in design of that ring, I am pretty sure they would have pushed for a much bigger ring. Also this white gold trend, with white on white, logo all filled in diamond and laid in bed of diamonds just does not do it for me. It is hard to read the wording on the ring as there is no contrast (antiquing) and the logo does not stand out at all either. I really like the shanks and how much they have put on it, but they could have done more. You have to get at least the name of the teams and score of the game on the shank, not inside the ring. I was much more impressed with the recent Grey Cup ring than this SB ring. Also they use exact same color gold, diamonds and blue stones as used in the most recent NY Giants ring. However Giants and Seahawks colors/uniforms are not even slightly similar to each other. They blue they used on the ring has nothing to do with the shade of blue on team’s uniform.
  13. As expected, Tiffany Super Bowl rings: The Seattle Seahawks received their Super Bowl XLVIII championship rings at a private ceremony tonight in downtown Seattle. The design of the ring, which was made by Tiffany & Co., was created after several meetings that included Seahawks owner Paul G. Allen, head coach Pete Carroll, general manager John Schneider, president Peter McLoughlin and other Seahawks executives. “The design of the first Seahawks Super Bowl ring represents a distinctive tribute to this team, our fans, the Pacific Northwest and the Seahawks victory in Super Bowl XLVIII,” said Seahawks President Peter McLoughlin. The white gold Seahawks Super Bowl XLVIII championship ring features a three-dimensional Seahawks logo of 64 round diamonds with a vibrant emerald hue tsavorite eye. The iconic logo is outlined in blue and is framed by 12 diamonds. The Vince Lombardi Trophy, comprised of one marquis diamond, stands in the background amongst a sea of 107 round diamonds with a border reading “WORLD CHAMPIONS”. Forty blue sapphires surround the ring top flanked by two “12″ flags. The shank, or sides of the ring, tells the story of the championship season. One shank includes the team’s final record of 16-3, a southward view of CenturyLink Field with the “12″ flag and Mt. Rainier, highlighted with the individual player’s name and number. The other side features the Seattle skyline, Vince Lombardi Trophy with a marquis diamond, Super Bowl XLVIII logo and NFL shield. The ring band features 12 feathers, similar to the markings on the team uniforms. The phrases “LEAVE NO DOUBT”, “24/7″, “SEA 43- DEN 8″ and “WHAT’S NEXT?” are engraved inside each ring. “Super Bowl XLVIII marked monumental firsts. It was the first time that the world’s most-watched sporting event took place in New York, the city where Tiffany & Co. was born more than 177 years ago; and also marked the first championship victory for the Seattle Seahawks,” said Victoria Reynolds, Group Director of Business Sales for Tiffany & Co. “Having crafted the Vince Lombardi Trophy since its inception in 1969, we are proud to have now also crafted the first Seattle Seahawks Championship ring – both being the purest symbols of hard work and perseverance.” Smartphone users may download, or update, to version 2.0 of the Seahawks Mobile Application for their chance to virtually wear the ring. Fans are invited to share their images on social media by using the hashtag #SuperBowlRing.
  14. Sports-rings thank you so much for the information, good to know.
  15. I have seen Jostens advertise the 2004 ring as heaviest a few different times. This is from February 2014. I just wish I knew what size ring they talk about when they announce how many grams these rings are. Obviously there is more than a few grams difference between a size 9 ring for a 5'9'' special teams player vs a size 14 ring for a 6'5", 350 lbs lineman.
  16. Thanks for the pics Mike, its great to be able to compare the sizes. I also saw your write up on the rings. Since you had listed all the rings in grams, I think Pats 2004 at 115 grams listed by Jostens is heaviest ring, heavier than Green Bay's platinum ring.
  17. Congrats Sports-rings. That is sharp looking ring. Looking forward to seeing pics of all Pats next rings to each other. Here is a short video about making the AFC ring.
  18. Guys, assuming SB rings are being handed out next Friday then rings were NOT made by Jostens! On Jostens facebook page there is picture of Denver' AFC ring. One of the people asked if SB rings were made by Jostens too? Dave Copenhaver Is Jostens doing the Seattle ring as well? Like · Reply · 1 · 20 hours agoJostens Hi Dave! At this point, the team is still making the decision on which provider they intend to use. If Jostens is selected, we'll certainly be making an announcement.Clearly if rings are handed out in a week they are already made. It has to be Tiffany, can't imagine any other company as Balfour and Intergold are bought by Jostens and I highly doubt Herff Jones could pull it off. With Pete Carroll and Paul Allen it has to be Tiffany. If it is Tiffany, we can expect it will not be very large but hopefully better than 2 Giants rings. Although they did a really good job with 49ers NFC ring.
  19. Yes, good call King of Rings, you are right about the central football, that makes 7.
  20. Yes, glad it's a new design and Jostens apparently made them but no other news. Seems like average conference championship ring. They could have done more with shanks though...their 89 rings shanks are much more detailed.
  21. Thanks Sports-rings, you are right, that makes sense. Also most these schools need the "bling-bling" to lure recruits. Saban does not wear his rings, but he says he takes them on recruiting trips to show what they could be getting. Pat Riley did the same thing when he was trying to get LBJ. He put a black box on middle of table and after his 2 hour presentation he told Lebron to open it up. Inside was all his NBA championship rings, told LBJ he has won rings at every level and if he wants to win, he is the guy who is going to show him how.
