  1. England will be in the classic white/navy/white today, with Denmark wearing their all-red third kit.
  2. More of an issue with the socks, really. Italy’s home kit has white shorts as the first choice option, so they could’ve and likely would’ve preferred to have gone blue/white/blue if Spain was allowed to wear their home kits. The problem is that Spain only has navy socks with their current home kit, which would’ve created a sock clash with the blue socks of the Azzurri. Both teams were able to wear their home kits in the 2012 final because Spain had red socks with that kit, but they don’t currently have a red sock option. Probably the only way UEFA would’ve allowed both teams to have worn their primaries would’ve been for Italy to go blue/white/white or Spain to go red/blue/white, both of which have been worn in the past:
  3. Italy easily could’ve worn blue today against Belgium. They wore blue against Wales, who were in all-red just like Belgium today, in the group stage: They also wore blue against Austria in the last round, but the Austrians’ kits had white sleeves and shorts to provide even more contrast. Throughout the tournament it’s seemed like the Puma teams have opted to wear their new secondary kits when they’re the designated away teams even when they could’ve worn their primaries. Wouldn't surprise me at all if that was a directive by Puma since they made a big deal of unveiling the new and “innovative” kits shortly before the tournament.
  4. Huh, I didn’t even realize the Biofreeze deal was up. Obviously my preference would be for the Blazers to be ad-free, but if they’re gonna have one I was fairly satisfied with Biofreeze and now with StormX as well. The StormX patch occupies a little more real estate, but not having the green from the Biofreeze patch on the black and white jerseys makes this an upgrade in my mind. I do wish it was black instead of red on the white jersey to match the swoosh, but the red doesn’t look too out of place. And I wish it was black on the red jersey to match the Jumpman logo, but I had the same issue with the Biofreeze patch on the red jersey, too. All in all, I really don’t mind how the new patch looks all that much and I’m glad that it’s a company with Pacific Northwest roots this time.
  5. ^Yep, without a doubt one of the best-looking matchups of the tournament thus far:
  6. Spain/Poland is indeed another really nice looking matchup, especially with Poland not having to change to white shorts:
  7. Another fantastic matchup between Germany and Portugal, with both teams looking exactly as they should: This is shaping up to be the best looking day of the tournament thus far, and Spain/Poland should be pretty nice as well (though Poland will likely change to white shorts).
  8. France vs. Hungary was a really nice matchup. I fully expected it to be all-red against all-white, so I was pleasantly surprised to see Hungary in their traditional red/white/green combo and France in the classic white/blue/white. Even though the navy shorts didn’t match the shade of blue on the shirt, the white/blue/white combo just looks right on France.
  9. Interesting little clip here; shows how much brighter the shade of blue on the new Barça kit is, and also gives a rough idea of what the shirt would look like with solid blue shorts:
  10. I really don’t mind the shirt design at all, in fact I’ve actually grown to like it quite a bit. As far as the experimental efforts go, I much prefer this shirt over the hoops, checkers, and 2012/13 navy gradient. I don’t even mind the off-white printing all that much because at least the sponsor logos and names/numbers all match, something that hasn’t been the case on the home jerseys for quite some time (other than the special edition senyera home jersey from this past season). All that being said, the half/half shorts are an abomination and really ruin the whole thing. As much has the shirt has grown on me, and as much as I love the hooped socks, I just absolutely cannot get behind the split color shorts. Maybe if we’re lucky the fan outcry will be so significant that they’ll change to solid shorts before the start of the season. Galatasaray had split color shorts for their 2015/16 home kit but they didn’t last long; they ended up wearing black or white shorts most of the season. I’m hoping for a similar outcome with this Barça kit.
  11. Nice and colorful matchup between Turkey and Wales: I really love this Wales away kit, even though the shirt has the tired Condivo 20 pattern. Those shades of yellow and green just work so well together, and also contrast nicely with Turkey’s all-red.
  12. Fantastic matchup between Poland and Slovakia, featuring two of the nicest individual kits in the tournament:
  13. Such a shame that Puma pushed this awful new templated design for this tournament instead of sticking with the originally-planned away kits. Austria’s 2020 away kit was fantastic and would’ve been one of the kits of the tournament IMO: Switzerland and Italy’s original away kits for this tournament were fantastic as well, and Czech Republic’s was at least interesting: Changing subjects, Netherlands/Ukraine is a really nice looking matchup: I really do like this Dutch kit, but white or black shorts would elevate it so much.
  14. Here is the new Red Stars kit: Pretty nice overall, but I don’t think it’s as good as either their primary or secondary kits.
  15. That Everton kit may well be one of the best kits of the upcoming season IMO. Important to note that it’s a throwback to their 1881/82 kit and the “Black Watch” nickname given to those teams:
  16. New primary (blue) and secondary (white) jerseys for the Reign:
  17. They’re wearing a plain white teamwear kit (with mint green socks, at least) for the Challenge Cup: Apparently this is the only kit that they’ll be wearing during the Challenge Cup, and the jerseys will be auctioned off after the tournament. Presumably they’ll have different home and away kits for the regular season, but I wouldn’t expect them to be much more exciting than these.
  18. New primary shirt for Orlando for the 2021 and 2022 seasons: I don’t necessarily like them going BFBS, but I can’t deny that the design is pretty dang cool.
  19. Figured I’d start a new thread for this year’s NWSL kits, as teams are starting to reveal their new looks. The Thorns are carrying over both of their fully custom kits from last year, but now have the TikTok logo added to the right sleeve: The Courage revealed new home and away jerseys a while back: And of course the Dash revealed their new primary shirt yesterday, their first with the new crest:
  20. Not Oregon’s fault that Washington had a Covid outbreak. Had the two actually played, the winner of that game would’ve rightfully ended up in the Pac-12 CG. The Dawgs weren’t healthy enough, but the Ducks were and were able to go out and win the conference (and earn the Fiesta Bowl spot) on the field. The Iowa State selection over Indiana was a bit more controversial, but there would’ve been some controversy if it had gone the other way, too.
  21. The Fiesta Bowl is going without colored endzones this year, almost surely due to there being a 49ers “home” game at State Farm Stadium tomorrow: The 50 yard markers have also been replaced by white Fiesta Bowl 50th anniversary logos. Here’s a better look at that logo, albeit the full-color version:
