Maybe something like this? I know the thicker striping is pretty unconventional especially for a jersey with placket piping, but I think that's part of the appeal.

I didn't know about the St. Paul Saints! I might have to look into that some more.

Well the sleeves look good! But the solid white down the center of the chest is was was the most jarring to me, the same as in the first concept haha.

And yeah!! As a St. Paulite myself, I’ve always liked the Saints a little more than the Twins, (which might be scandalous to say haha) so it’s always fascinated me to ponder about what it would have looked like if they had become the first major team in the Twin Cities instead of the Twins in the 60’s.

  2. I would change the placket piping on the red jersey. I like the double colors, and the idea of having both white and blue is nice, but the white doesn't contrast super well, and kinda sticks out. Maybe try a triple striped placket (like the Braves,) with white and blue outlining the red?

Fantastic work on this series so far though! I'd love to see your modern take on the St. Paul Saints if they hadn't left for Chicago in 1901 to become the White Sox!

  3. I love this look for the Twins!! I love the new look anyways, but this is a better!!

The subtle pinstripes at home is exactly what they need! The numbers do look a little big on the back of the jerseys however. I’d also try and find a way to include the new Minnesota logo, as well as the M and StP logos, or maybe even Minnie and Paul. But this is an upgrade on an already fantastic set!

Anaheim (2007), Pittsburgh (2009 and 2016), and Washington (2018) are pretty much the only bad ones.

And of those, both Anaheim and Washington had sweaters that at least felt like hockey sweaters. That template that Pittsburgh had is by far the worst thing ever to be an NHL jersey and it’s atrocious that they won two cups in it. I’m glad 2017 was back in their classic sweaters.

Those are by far the worst sweaters to have ever won the cup, and it’s not even close.

Let’s me real the twins should of never dropped gold. Made them a different them then the other R/W/B teams.

That was just about one of the worst decisions the club has ever made… As a Twins fan I am so so happy they ditched it.

  6. I’m very happy that a lot of the crappy state flags are being changed. It’s an exciting time as an amateur vexillologist. But there seems to be a lot of people who still prefer terribly designed flags that match a ton of other states in the union. I just don’t understand the push back on it…

I’m glad you think you flag represents you, but it’s failing when I can’t tell if it’s Michigan’s or Vermont’s or Kansas’s flag. So where ya from bud? I’m fairly certain no one is going to confuse Colorado and New Mexico by their state flags, and that’s exactly the point.

I know everyone won’t have the same design sense, and some people just can’t understand design, but like what reason do these states have to not pass these changes through?

There's gotta be some blorp town in one of the Dakotas or Maine that has a grungy fanbase of 20-30,000 people who will put their asses in the seats for the bulk of the regular season.

Yeah you could probably move the Coyotes to Fargo and they’d do well. Heck they have just as nice of a small arena in Scheels as they do in Mullett. Or put them up in Grand Forks at Ralph Engelstad…

Clayton Keller reportedly wants out, and Craig Morgan was talking this afternoon that a top Yotes prospect (Logan something?) probably being perfectly happy to park himself at U of Minnesota for another year than having to subject himself to the NHL's Mystery Box.

As a Gophers fan I hope Logan Cooley comes back for another 3 years. And thankfully the Coyotes might just help out with that… 😄

Proud of the Kraken for having a noteworthy playoff run.  They did the "plucky, you don't belong here, kid" thing and made some noise.  Brought some eyes to the franchise and displayed some moxie and all that crap.

That said, the remaining four teams are all mostly unlikeable and I want nothing to do with whoever's left.  I guess go...Canes?  Panthers?  This feels like rooting for a blooming onion that's been sitting in a window for a few weeks.

Yeah this is probably the worst four I could imagine… Out of the West it’s two teams I hate the most of the bracket, and the East feels uninteresting. Maybe the Panthers with their crazy run, but I was rooting for the Leafs out of the East, so it’s just weird.

  10. I’d swap the crown and the LA monogram on the front. Or maybe even use the Chevy logo or some kinda shield there. It would fill the space better than the monogram would.

    Can’t wait for the Wild!!

  11. Looking at those photos the Devils old white sweater is actually a little disappointing. It feels like way to much black, when it should be a little more red heavy. I guess that’s why I like the wider stripes on the new set, but the lack of tail stripes is awful. They look like freaking nightshirts on the players…

Last year was MIN's best shot to make a run. This year's team didn't have the firepower

Yeah last year’s team was much much better. The Wild really just (like always) lack center depth and good face off guys. They’re starting to get goal scorers, but just struggle down the middle especially. And considering you usually draft those types rather than sign them, it’s gonna be a while before the Wild are really ready to make a deep run.

The North Stars have eliminated the Wild, notching yet another chapter of the state of Minnesota's long, agonizing history of postseason failure.

And on TOP of that, the Wild basically didn’t play hockey since the end of game 4. They looked fairly distraught in game 5 and completely lifeless in game 6. For a team that’s supposed to be built on being tough, they really didn’t get going when things got tough for them. (But don’t get me wrong, Dallas played great pretty much every night and totally deserved to win that series.)

I feel like the Wild are going to take an even bigger step back next year, considering the cap penalty increases for the next season. I guess it’ll be the wrong season for that, since they’ll be missing out on Bedard…

  14. So why the silver? That’s probably my biggest gripe with the set. If the red jersey had black outlines on the numbers they would be fantastic. The big Arizona on the front is great and makes an otherwise fairly plain jersey much better.

If they swapped all the silver here with black, it would be a much better set. The silver stripe disappears way to much. I’d also slap on a big Arizona or Cardinals on the road jersey too.

The red numbers are the defining element that makes the Wild white jersey great.

I agree, I love the red numbers on the Wild’s white sweater. The Iowa Wild actually just changed to that as well.

The Wild were definitely one of the worst matching teams in the league until Adidas took over. But the striping between the home and road is the same with a bit of a different color way, much like the Hawks, or even like the Stars. While there are some subtle changes I would like to see to the Wild’s green home sweater, I think it’s one of the best in the league, and does really match the road jersey well.

It’s not the same as how the Canes are wearing 3 different striping patterns on 3 different jerseys with 3 different logos, only one of which has their primary logo…
