  1. So now it's officially Dolphins/Ravens week. Unfortunately, the game didn't get flexed into SNF or the late afternoon as I had hoped since the schedule reveal. I predicted white/aqua vs black/purple and I think I'm gonna stick with that. I hate seeing the black jerseys in home games that early unless they are facing Pittsburgh, but I think the odds favor Ravens wearing purple in the season finale instead vs those Steelers. At the very least, the Ravens could possibly host Miami again next year and then hopefully we can get the primetime scenery I wanted. Not sure how I should feel about their potential road opponents of JAX/HOU/IND and TB/ATL/NO
  2. Looks like TNT adjusted the team abbreviation boxes for their NBA scoreboard.
  3. As for a team that's NOT riding the "icy" trend in uniform reveals, but going all-white...
  4. I knew they had it in for them when I stumbled upon their Wednesday Wallpaper post this week of players in those uniforms. Oh well... Missed opportunity at the throwback kelly green vs the faux-back all-white for NYG even though the Giants only have one win wearing that uniform.
  5. I'd much rather have seen them wear purple pants this week so they can wear this at SF on Christmas when the Niners put on their throwbacks, but oh well...
  6. I don't watch too much college football during its regular season, but with ESPN's current scoreboard, how many yards minimum does a rushing TD need to be for a "TO THE HOUSE" flash instead of simply "TOUCHDOWN"?
  7. The gray on the throwbacks seem to pop more when I take a look at it. Plus, the skinny font on the current home jerseys is probably setting it back a little.
  8. This was my favorite component of Fox 2003-2006 graphics package. If they or another network would bring in a new package inspired by that or its elements of prioritizing helmet design over primary logos and abbreviations to identify teams, it'd be fun to see, especially since that would likely bring the Bears' wishbone C some of the shine it lost after the primary logo switch.
  9. Nice to see this again after a long home stretch, but given that the Bolts committed to all-navy, I would've rather seen the Ravens in all white and save this uniform for when they go back to see the Chargers next year.
  10. Could have been just the use of the CR, but I wasn't a fan of the red helmet with the CR all-navy. However, I'd like to see in a future game how different it turns out with the standard navy jersey instead.
  11. I can sleep peacefully knowing this Thursday's uniform matchup is going to turn out just as I predicted right after the schedule reveal. Also, no one had a thought or fear the Bengals would go CR white this week, right?
  12. Packers-Steelers looks magnificent. Tip of the cap to Pittsburgh wearing their throwbacks against opponents that have classic, if not decently modernized classic uniforms. I think it's a given they'll wear them again next year at home vs the Cowboys assuming the throwbacks make it to 2024.
  13. Whoever's picking out the uniforms is on a superstitious roll. They haven't picked out another uniform at home besides purple/black in Week 3 vs Indy and all-black next Thursday vs the Bengals. For the rest of the way, I expect the Ravens to wear this at home for every Sunday afternoon game. Even if the other uniforms with purple jerseys aren't gonna be worn again this season or at all, I'm all for it.
  14. Curious as to when the Ravens will break out that CR all-purple from here on out. Since next Thursday's game is already ruled out, the home options left in order are: Browns, Rams, Dolphins, Steelers. Pittsburgh is the only team they haven't worn it against. Both the Browns and Rams went up against it when they had their previous uniform sets in tact. If I had to pick one, it'd be the game against the Rams. I don't see a repeat of 2016 vs Cleveland this week, and one or both games against Miami and Pittsburgh are strong candidates to be flexed into primetime right now, likely giving way to another appearance of the black jersey.
  15. It's okay to say the least. I would have preferred the Ravens wear CR all-purple vs the Seahawks in mono white. And I'm not sure how the matchup as a whole would have fared if the only change was having Seattle wearing white/navy.
  16. I also just remembered the O's could end up with a busy jersey next year. 2024 is going to be another "anniversary season", so assuming they make and place a logo on the sleeve, I fear the state flag roundel will go away for just next season to make room for the 70-seasons logo since the opposite sleeve is going to be blank or filled in by a sponsor come Opening Day. I can't see a situation where they force the anniversary logo on the chest during the regular season to keep the roundel where it is.
  17. First time in some time I've seen the Ravens go this far out of their way to reveal their uniform of choice. I want to say the 2019 SNF game vs the Pats was the last such occasion, though that ended up with them wearing black/white in a game they heavily promoted as a "blackout" night and they started hyping it up on socials as early as the Tuesday or Wednesday before gameday. Obviously, can't be surprised considering, much like last year, this is the only home primetime game that was scheduled from the jump. Only difference here is that there's more promotion to the fan "blackout" theme than last year's SNF clash with the Bengals.
  18. Should've never messed with the shadow to begin with. I think the entire set of jerseys was fine before the red alternate got its one changed last season.
  19. Well...the reactions to this should be fun considering Arizona is already set to wear all-red in the desert.
  20. I got a bad feeling the empty half of the baseline was ruined by having Michelob Ultra slap their logo over there during the Finals. Now it looks like their court-side sponsorship is gonna be there for all nationally televised games. Not sure how it would work for a team like the Grizzlies, who have the team name running from end-to-end though. Edit: oh...this really is a thing now. No doubt about it. MU was on the courts of Milwaukee and the Lakers on Thursday night. I swear, we can't have nice things because ads need to be everywhere, even when it comes to these games on ESPN/ABC and TNT.
  21. Looks like "TNT Sports" is the branding they want to push across the network's sports events. To the point where it now has its own intro much like they used to do when the Turner Sports brand was a thing. They've done the same to the scoreboard for the NHL on TNT as well, which shows how dedicated they are to this. First point I want to make is that the Turner Sports brand should still be a thing to at least acknowledge the presence of TBS, Bleacher Report, and to a lesser extent truTV as far as sports goes. It won't matter to casual fans at the end of the day and I understand the Turner brand holds no significance to parent company WB Discovery, but that's my two cents. Secondly, I do have to agree that this current "style" of graphics is starting to grow somewhat stale. 2021 gave us revisions of this style of graphics thanks in part to the NBA's 75th anniversary season and the start of its current contract with the NHL, while the current package for MLB on TBS has mostly stayed the same since 2016 outside of changing up the scoreboard to its current design in 2017 and some revisions ever since. I feel very nostalgic for when the NBA on TNT would give us new packages every two seasons.
  22. AFAIK, this is the first time I've seen any of the four networks use a throwback logo in sync with a team's corresponding uniform set for an NFL game. I'd surely like to see more of this now that gates have been opened. Not sure how willing designers would be to, for example, implement the Phillies' classic maroon cap logo into to elements of Fox's current MLB graphics package. And I can't remember how often we've seen this with the NBA on TNT or likewise for ESPN, but they at least follow the color schemes very well on scoreboards.
  23. So I did something out of my ordinary: I bought the O's postseason shirts at the Team Store today. Normally, I prefer to hold out on buying playoff gear *unless* the team of interest wins a title. But it's gotta be the 2023 postseason script font, having attended both games where the team got to put the "Take October" and division champs shirts, and moving away from Baltimore for a new job elsewhere that pushed me into this decision. The only doubt I had was whether or not it'd be worth wearing it out down the road if it ended anywhere short of the AL pennant/making the WS, especially now since the season ended in an ALDS sweep by Texas, and maybe wearing either shirt could be the same case as, for instance, a Falcons fan wearing 2016 NFC Champions gear knowing very well how Super Bowl LI ended. I guess I missed the SL forum poll on wearing those playoff/postseason shirts...but here's to the hope these shirts last me a good while!

  24. I didn't think it was possible to improve upon the 2012 Wild Card game, but if Game 1 speaks volumes, then Orioles-Rangers does just that now that Texas dropped the extra outlines on their roads and blue alts. Also, I'm a little surprised, but not too much that the O's went with white instead of orange, making it like Opening Day 2.0 at the ballpark.
