There's only around 3 teams that can afford his salary unless the Angles eat half of it, and I think we know where he wants to play.  The problem is his health, and he'd have to play the field because said team already has a DH that can't play the field.

But it would be nice to see if he can actually perform in games that matter, and in front of crowds that care.  I feel very strongly that he isn't even a HOFer now, because he's had literally zero impact on the sport and not shown that he can play when it matters.  Nothing in this history of MLB would have unfolded any differently had he never been born.  And it's not even about championships at all.

Trout to go along with Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, Nick Castellanos, Trea Turner and JT Realmuto would be fun to watch.

They need to trade that poor bastard. Send him somewhere that he'll be of use to a team.

It's going to come to a point where he has to demand a trade.  It may not be now, but it would have to be soon if things get worse for the Angels.  Whether or not the Angels will acquiesce to his trade demands, remains to be seen.

I am really looking forward to how Dave Toub is going to use this guy on kickoff/punt returns.

Maybe they can have him be the upback on punts?

Probably do a better job than Kadarius Toney....at everything.

  4. The Texas Rangers will be raising their World Series banner and handing out rings this weekend.  All Rangers fans have been waiting 52 years for this to happen.

They have now won more championships than the Dallas Cowboys in the 29 years.

Not sure he will turn out in the NBA. He’s slow, not particularly athletic (relative to the NBA), and his entire game is within, like, five feet of the basket. He’ll get abused in the pick and roll. There’s not much place for someone like him in the modern NBA.

That is what I thought.  NBA Centers these days are quite athletic and even have a 3 point game.

  6. Caitlin Clark's run in the Women's Tournament isn't going to end well, but she's on her way out anyways and headed to the Indiana Fever of the WNBA.

On the Men's Side, I have been watching Purdue closely and Zach Edey is super interesting to me because I want to see how he turns out in the NBA.

Yeah I meant the Super League. San Antonio has a team in the W-League and they'll be playing in basically a practice facility instead of Toyota Field. I also don't know how they have Division I for women, and no teams in 2&3? W-League is Division 4.

Macario would be a huge signing for the NWSL if she was to ever decide to play in the States again, not the USL Super League.  Now the question might be "if she's so great, why didn't she play for Team USA in the Women's World Cup last year?"  well, there's an easy explanation for that: she was at the time recovering from a torn ACL.

Seeing that some of the USL W-League stadiums are high school venues, I don't see them catching NWSL talent any time soon.

It's the USL Super League that is going to start playing this fall.  The USL W-League is a developmental Women's League.  Also if Macario was to ever play in the US, it will be in the NWSL.   She has ties to San Diego (moved there as a kid) and the San Francisco Bay Area (went to Stanford) so it probably won't be an MLS situation where "high profile international player wants to play in MLS but only for the two LA teams, the two New York teams or Inter Miami" as we expect will happen to Neymar if he wants to play in the US.

This is the USL Super League:

  9. With the USL Championship and USL Super League (the Women's League), is the USL dealing with delusions of grandeur?

The USL diehards want the USL Championship to compete against the MLS and are upset that the USSF have sanctioned them as Division II.  There's also some in the USL Championship who also believe that they should compete with the MLS.  This isn't happening for two reasons:

    1. In order to compete with MLS, they have to go toe-to-toe with them for talent.  It is unlikely that they have the finances to compete for Neymar should Neymar want to play in the US.
    2. USL Championship teams folding doesn't help their cause.  Rio Grande Valley FC and San Diego Loyal folded.  If they wanted to compete with MLS, at least consider relocation.

As for USL Super League?  Well....the best US player not in NWSL is Catarina Macario. If she wants to play in the US, does she go NWSL or USL Super League.  If she goes USL Super League, it would be their biggest signing ever.  If she goes to the NWSL, what chances does the Super League have?  Also, two of the teams in the NWSL are owned by USL teams, so it will be interesting to see what happens with the North Carolina Courage and Racing Louisville.

  11. Panther City Lacrosse is last in the NLL in attendance with an average of 2,637 people.  The capacity at Dickie's Arena is about 14,000, so about 12,000 empty seats per home game for Panther City LC.    They are owned by the same people who own the Dallas Wings of the WNBA, who have better attendance in a smaller arena.
