Jets may need to find a new starter if one of these political rumors comes to be.

I'll laugh my ass off if he again plays one game for them then walks away to pursue the other thing.

Might be why they signed Tyrod Taylor.

Good move by the Vikings, rather than do what they usually do and bring in guys that either cost them hundreds of millions, or 1st round picks (Sam Bradford). Maybe they've learned their lesson and are going to wait for a true franchise guy to either make it to them in the draft or be a FA in the next year or so.

Of course, they could turn around and get Justin Fields, which would put them in the dummy category again.

Bears aren't going to trade within their division.

Probably bold take, but the more I think about it, the less I can realistically see a landing spot for Wilson next season. He is NOT good at this point, and I don’t really see anyone who would really benefit all that much from having him considering the residual headache that’ll come with him. Him being somebody’s backup sounds like a total circus. And of all the teams out there with subpar to bad QB play, none of them really seem great for him, either.

Vegas seems like the most logical landing spot, but why even bother with that purgatory, for both sides? Steelers seem like a good fit but they ALWAYS are adverse to “personality” guys. Indy? A literal old QB carousel, and not worth it with Richardson IMO. Pats? Suck. Commanders? McNabb 2.0. Not worth either side’s time.

I can think of four spots that would be intriguing on different levels. Probability varies.

Titans - Not really that far of a vibe from Denver. Still decent enough to make some noise, but quiet enough to just bury him for awhile and let him play football. None of their quarterbacks are good enough to make this not worth a shot. Boring but logical.

Cowboys - Look. Dak is probably going to get like $60 million a year and I don’t think there’s a single person on earth who’s excited about that other than probably Dak Prescott. They might as well put as much pressure on him as they can and if he implodes, you have your cheap insurance plan. This whole thing is probably going to be a freak show anyway. Might as well have it at Jerry World. Seems like shooting yourself in the foot if it goes wrong, but high risk high reward.

49ers - This will make both fanbases spontaneously combust but why the :censored: not at this point? I’m STILL just not sold on Brock Purdy, and if Wilson has ANYTHING left in the tank, why not get it in the one spot I think he might be willing to actually be a backup? It’s the best chance at success for both sides. Wilson gets an absolutely insane offense to work with (strong running back too, that’s key), and the Niners have a backup plan that’s not just pulling the parking attendant out of the lot to suit up. Lowest risk, highest reward imo.  Also, funny!

Seahawks - I just cannot tell you how goddamn funny it would be to see him go back to Seattle while taking Denver’s money. It’s probably the one place where the circus would have a less hostile vibe, and it might end up being Wilson’s only shot at being on a roster next season. Would be sad in the funniest way possible, but that’s basically the definition of “Danger”Russ(🙄), so you never know.

So Wilson ends his first Cowboys Presser with "Cowboys Country! Let's Ride" isn't he?

Due didn't even get a college scholarship, and had to walk on a Cincinnati as a linebacker before moving to OL.  He's now going down as arguably the greatest center of all time, and the HOF is basically announcing he'll be a first ballot.

Unless the Wacko QB for the New York Jets or Aaron Donald call it a career, 2029 will be one of those years where guys who have been eligible for a long time finally get in.

Eligible next year: Eli Manning, Adam Vinatieri, Marshawn Lynch, Marshall Yanda, Earl Thomas and Luke Kuechly.

Ummm - not too sure about that 🙂  I'm sorta hoping we've hit on that twice in a row now.

I think he starts somewhere because his low salary for this year means money can be spent elsewhere to build a better team.

It has also worked in Kansas City.  Remember Mahomes started the final game of his rookie season and the rest is history.

It does seem like a string of Messi-esque (obviously there's only one Messi) stars is just sort of the plan going forward. The expansion money will have to dry up sometime, they have to keep it going somehow.

People think that MLS can get to 40 teams.  Right now they are at 30, but are likely to go 32.  Ideally, 31 and 32 should be two of Indy, Louisville, or Phoenix, but MLS will be like the Big 4 and can't help themselves by putting 31 in Las Vegas, leaving 32 for Indy, Louisville or Phoenix for one spot.

When the MLS expands again, one of the teams will be Las Vegas, because they will suffer from the "Vegas Virus."  I will be shocked if the MLS expands to 32 and neither of them is Vegas.

Mbappe also hasn't hit 30 yet. I think he'd have to be 35 or older before he makes the move. Neymar could be here as soon as 2025 or 2026 since he was brought in to help the Saudis get the World Cup, which they have in the bag at the moment.

Yeah I think that Mbappe will be playing for Real Madrid for a few years and then if he continues to play at a high level, he'll be in Serie A, Premier League or Bundesliga.

  8. Messi is the guy the MLS promotes for a few years, he retires and the MLS waits a few years more to see if Neymar and/or Mbappe wants to make the jump.  So as soon as either expresses interest in playing in America, the MLS will tell both LA teams, both New York teams and Miami to make their bids, while the rest of the MLS use their DP slots on third and fourth tier players from South America and Europe.

FYI, I think we'll see Neymar in MLS before Mbappe and there's a chance we see a few months of Messi and Neymar in the MLS at the same time in late 2025.  Right now I am of the opinion that Mbappe is two leagues away from going to the MLS.

Jason Kelce is retiring.  He couldn't make it through the start of his presser without crying for minutes.  Couldn't even get a sentence out.

HOFer for sure.  Arguably an Eagles Mt. Rushmore player, along with Reggie, Dawkins, Chuck Bednarik.

Special recognition to Big Dom for being the lifeblood of the org (and not being sarcastic.)

    EDIT:

Just said on live TV that Nick Foles had the biggest dick on the team, and Doug Pederson the biggest balls.  Only one F bomb so far.

I love that he's retiring wearing a sleeveless Eagles T-shirt rather than the usual suit and tie that players usually wear when they retire.
