It ain't the pitch clock, kids. It's trying to throw 130mph on every pitch.

that's nice Tony, but when are you going to release a statement about the A's move to Sacramento for 3 years?

Probably because it’s this or they disband the A’s for 4 seasons. They’d rather a crap situation to no jobs for a team’s worth of players.

I would think this is the case.  They may also want renovations to Sutter Health Park enough to satisfy their demands.  They were not going to sign off to the Blue Jays playing in Buffalo until Sahlen Field underwent renovations (otherwise, they probably would have recommended that the Blue Jays play at their Spring training facility in Dunedin, Florida for all of 2020 and 2021).

And Kyle Brandt (maybe a few others) may or may not be in Good Morning Football when the show comes on the air in Los Angeles this fall so there may be more

Brandt does stuff for Omaha Productions and has appeared on ESPN because of it, so he may do that.

I know when the Jays played i Buffalo during the pandemic, the Bisons were temporarily relocated to Trenton, NJ.  Not sure if that was a pandemic protocol issue or a logistical issue at the venue, but we'll see soon enough.

Probably logistical issues.  I heard somewhere that renovations to Bisons stadium had to be made before the MLBPA officially signed off on the Jays playing there.  There might be a reason that they have been silent on the whole A's situation as they apparently have their own issues to deal with.  However, they have recently lashed out against the Fanatics jerseys and worked with MLB to place Wander Franco on administrative leave, despite the internal strife in the MLBPA.

The fact that there's been complete silence on this whole relocation by the MLBPA is interesting.

    According to Front Office Sports:

    Quote

The MLBPA didn’t immediately release a comment on the future setup after the A’s announcement. A union spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

For a union as powerful as the MLBPA, they have been very silent on the whole A's relocation.

Looks like the Texans are going all in on the Super Bowl this year.

the Texans have been a competent organization ever since they fired the Man of God, Jack Easterby.

ECHL has terminated the membership of the Newfoundland Growlers effective immediately.  The owner of the Growlers and the Trois Rivieres Lions was in severe debt and on the verge of bankruptcy. The Lions appear to be safe for now as a new ownership group may be coming forward to keep them alive. This comes  with just 6 games remaining on the Growlers schedule with and tied for third with Trois Riviere and Worcester in the North division. Sad that the league chose not to prop them up to finish the season.

The Maple Leafs are going to have to find a new ECHL affiliate.

I don't read his columns that way. He points out that it's possible, not that they could legit do it.

Of course it's possible, but it seems unlikely.  They will remain the Kansas City Chiefs.  Now whether or not they continue to play in Arrowhead or move across the border to Kansas or be in the suburbs is another story.

I don't believe this but hey he gets paid and I don't.

He's known for his conspiracy theories regarding the NFL.  He cast doubt on Aaron Donald's retirement which Chris Simms called him out for it, even mocking him for "Tom Brady is not retired and is going to play for either the Dolphins or 49ers"

The KC Chiefs and Royals stadium tax is up for vote today.  Expected to be close as polling had either side within margin of error (+/- 6 apparently).  Chiefs want to renovate Arrowhead Stadium and the Royals want to build a new ballpark downtown.  When the Royals move, Chiefs have plans to demo Kaufman stadium and do If passed, it would simply implement the same tax they've had in the area since about 2006, a sales tax that was originally used for some renovations.

If the vote fails, you'll likely see Chiefs and Royals come back in two years or so with a different proposal.

As a fan of KC sports teams, I've been really impressed with the Royals' downtown stadiums plans.  I think it would be a good thing for the team and would help them be more successful as a small-market team.  Like it or not the suburban stadium they play in is just not very compatible with modern economics.

Mike Florio, the NFL Media's top conspiracy theorist thinks that if the vote fails, the Chiefs could legit move out of KC and doubts that they would be able to get a stadium in Kansas.

  11. So the post game press conference from the LSU Women was interesting.  It was more of how good a person Angel Reese is and all of the off the field criticism she went through.  When LSU won the title last year, Reese pointed to her ring finger, which somehow garnered outrage, but when the recently retired Rams DE Aaron Donald did the same thing after the Rams Super Bowl win, nobody batted an eye.

Angel Reese doesn't deserve the hate.

  12. So there's a draft eligible CB named Qwan'tez Stiggers.  His story is fascinating.  Originally attended Lane College in 2020 but dropped out due to the death of his father and the cancelation of their 2020 season.  In 2022, at the urging of his mother, played in the Fan Controlled Football League, which got him the attention of the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL in 2023.  With Toronto, he was a CFL All Star and was the CFL Most Outstanding Rookie for 2023.  He is now eligible due to the three year gap from his high school graduation.  The Argos have his rights for another year but would release him if he gets drafted.
