  1. I am back for some end of year housecleaning...I would like, please:

Austin Dillon 2022 Daytona Coke Zero Sugar 400 Win

Justin Haley 2019 Coke Zero Sugar 400 Win

Max Verstappen 2022 F1 World Champion

Zane Smith 2022 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Champion

Man City's 2022 Premier League Championship

    And could you please remove:

    The Cubs pre-20th century accomplishments

The Colts accomplishments while in Baltimore

Just trying to clear out some space. Thank you so much!

In college football, are conference championship games:

good, because they require the best teams to prove they belong and really earn it? It does help narrow the pool a bit.

    or

bad, because one extra game can ruin someone's season? Like, you can have have an undefeated regular season and be in line for a top 4 spot, but lose in the conference championship and drop a few spots. Whereas a one-loss team who didn't make the conference championship because of conference divisions isn't required to play that extra game, and can move into a top spot.

Right now, for example, USC is going to drop out of the top 4 and Ohio State, who isn't in the B1G championship game because of the divisional setup, will move up.

It's a Catch-22, really. If you beat another great team, you can solidify your claim to be in the CFP - and if not, it backfires on you. It's a tough question that does not have a simple "yes-no" question...however, I am still mad that the B1G didn't let IU play in the championship game a few years ago. Would a playoff system work for the major conferences? I don't know, but it is a discussion that may need to be had.

  3. Morocco, who only made the knockout stage in 1986, is advancing to the Round of 16. What a shocker...in other news, 61st ranked Ghana could become the lowest ranked team since Senegal in 2002 to advance to the knockout round if they have a good contest against Uruguay tomorrow.

Checked the poll just now.  342 total votes (Wow!) and even stranger, all 3 names have exactly 114 votes for them.   This is wild.

For some reason, this reminded me of the 1997 European Grand Prix qualifying:

    Day after opinions:

Home: The red Twins remains a bit corny but the rest of the uniform is great

Away Gray: Overall a great look even if unconvinced on the Minnesota font

Navy Alternate: Needs a Minnesota script or Twins script to improve this jersey

Cream Alternate: Terrific, reads like a throwback St. Paul Saints uni. The flags are an early 1900's vibe bringing Millers and Saints together. Would love to see throwback style Millers and Saints hats (Navy and Cream) utilized at some point for Sunday games.

M * Hat: There is no saving this one, needs to be brought back to the drawing board and revised.

I have to agree with this.

After sleeping and looking back at the design once more, I just can't get behind the M* star. I like the idea behind the concept, but the execution is not there. It looks too much like the 2012 Marlins logo. That and I don't see adding another logo to tandem the TC logo, a cornerstone of the Twins identity. The cream alts really are the stars of this set.

Most of this set just doesn't have any pzazz or magic in it, it just feels too simplistic. One-dimensional, I would call it. I just hate the recent trend of corporate minimalism...the logos really make me turn against the whole set.

  6. I'm pretty sure my mouth was wide open for 15 minutes after that. One of the most insane things I have ever seen in NASCAR. I used to wallride Martinsvile like that on NASCAR video games growing up; however, I never thought an actual driver would have the audacity to do that.

I think Jeff Gluck on Twitter said it best: "The Hail Melon".

    He's back, boys.

AJ Allmendinger is going to be racing full-time in the Cup Series in 2023, for the first time since 2018. He'll be driving the 16 car.

Replacing him in Xfinity will be Chandler Smith. It's at least a two car operation right now with Smith and Cassill. They're trying to get stuff done to keep Hemric around.

I'm excited for AJ and the team, obviously, but he's going to be 41, and considering he left Cup with a whimper with JTG, I'm cautiously optimistic.

I thought for certain they'd be hitching their wagon to Hemric. I guess Smith is now the team's end goal. Toyota loses another promising young talent because of the power structure within the manufacturer.

I'm excited for AJ. I've gotten to be more of a fan of his (and Haley for that matter) over the past few years, and it seems like the Xfinity stint has rejuvenated him.

  8. So yesterday we had:

    - A Truck driver receive burns from a pretty bad fire

    - A Truck driver get his first win due to his them throwing a caution 1000 feet before the finish (I'm not going to excuse it even though Debby finally won, but I feel for Bret Holmes)

    - Quite possibly the cleanest plate race I've seen in a while in the Xfinity race

    - A thrilling photo finish in the Xfinity race (Go Dinger!)

TBH, I feel scared for this Cup race. After seeing the tire farce at Texas, and the multiple drivers having concussion problems, I have a feeling something bad will happen at this race today. That could mean that the drivers might drive with a little more caution, but I don't know.

  9. You always bring the unique and outside-the-box ideas to the concepts section, and I love it. I know that when I see your name next to a project, it will be great.

With that out of the way, these designs are magnificent! What you have included in the designs of these teams are so clever and ingenuous (the brick siding for the O's uni, the font for the Dodgers uni, and the trim from the Wrigley sign), and it brings the level of these designs to another level. And yes, the Cubs uni is better than the CityConnect ones (and the Red Sox and the Dodgers one too, matter of fact). And yellow for the O's seems like a likely step for designers (considering that yellow is prominent on their state flag), but I don't remember seeing an O's concept on this site with yellow.

    Keep up the phenomenal work!

The Patriots could really do so much more with the endzone mark; fill it in with blue or red, outlined in white...or vice-versa. The plain white letters are just so bland. For me, the cursive script was a far better fit for the brand.

I agree with this for the Eagles as well, the new word mark is just so bland and uninspiring.

  11. I view motorsports sponsorships and all other sports sponsorships as - with motorsports sponsorships, they are the backbone of the financial structure of the racing team. Without sponsorships, a team can find themselves languishing in the back of the field...and unfortunately, too many racing teams have been taken advantage off by shady sponsors.
