  1. Back on the Senators, they have NEVER had a good look. The identity makes no sense the way it is used. Scrap it and start over.
  2. This seems kinda sketchy. You'd think a rare prototype jersey would have a way higher starting bid then $65, and there's no kind of official paperwork regarding it's authenticity.Granted I'm just on my phone and have a small screen, but that doesn't look like a CCM collar either. I'd heard of the "blade wing" Capitals logo before, but I'd never heard it got beyond some rough sketch ideas. Very interesting to see it on a real jersey.
  3. Great logo. The visually interesting color scheme and realistic, non-anthropomorphized animal are great qualities.
  4. There's nothing wrong with teams doing an annual military appreciation day, especially in baseball where there are 81 tedious home games to slog through.
  5. A lot of talk recently about what Ottawa will wear for their outdoor game. It seems my opinion that the Senators have never had even a remotely decent logo or jersey is not shared by too many.
  6. I'll echo this. In person they're quite striking the way the colors are arrayed. Now I'll never love it as an Islanders jersey but if a new team formed today and wore it I wouldn't be opposed.
  7. Any of you heard of this? I think I can help. I pulled out my authentic (retail) version of that jersey. Unfortunately the one you have a picture of appears to be a fake; the collars aren't similar at all. As for CCM tagging, all of my retail authentics display the CCM logo on the sizing tag inside the back collar. The four team issue authentics I have do not have the CCM logo. Now I'm not saying this holds true for *every* style but from what I have seen it is a good way to tell the difference between the two. To further muddy the waters, this only holds true for jerseys made in Canada (model numbers 7187 and 7287). For the authentics made in Indonesia the jersey has a lime green line along the back of the neck that has the size printed on it. This type jersey has never been used on ice and isn't truly authentic. Both 7187 and 7287 (referred to as Edge 1.0 and Edge 2.0) have both been used on ice but 2.0 is almost exclusively used now. I've been meaning for forever and a day to take some pictures and post the differences here. Definitely a project for the next off day. Edit: Meant to add my two cents on the current replicas... I don't like them. I think they're a step back in every way. (Jock tag, bad shoulder patches to name a few) I'm huge into jersey collecting and the only current generation replicas I have are styles without shoulder patches, as the cheap ones bother me way more than they should. As a retailer they're a nightmare also. More expensive than the CCM/Kohos were and don't pass the shelf test when compared directly. Not to go off on too far a tangent but I'm crossing all my fingers Bauer gets the next NHL jersey contract. They just put out some gamewear jerseys and they are amazing. 2/3 the cost of the RBKs and superior quality/fit/durability.
  8. Regardless of the reason, it looks sloppy and terrible.
  9. I agree with Chawls, the black pants just work with all three tops. I think the color arrangement breaks up the monotony of the all black set, something I typically don't like. (And hate my Jags for...)
  10. GA Tech's new uniforms don't deserve all the hate they've been getting. Sure they could use a tweak or two but comments have been another case of classic CCSLC piling on.
  11. OK, follow along: -Pittsburgh and Syracuse to the ACC from the Big East -North Texas and FIU to C-USA from the Sun Belt (Charlotte and ODU also joins C-USA, but won't play football until 2015 though) -Georgia State to the Sun Belt from the CAA As for Idaho and NMSU: I don't know if they sustain being an independent for very long because it's not easy to do unless you're Notre Dame. D'oh! I knew those two were leaving the Big East. Didn't catch the others, thanks. Georgia St playing FBS ball next year? I tend to agree on the outlook for the prospective new independents. Maybe they can work out their own TV deal like BYU?
  12. So out of the current FBS schools, I believe only Idaho and New Mexico State don't have homes for next year. Will these teams be able to make it as independents or where do you guys think they'll end up? I think everyone else in the WAC has a home for next year, UTSA and LA Tech to Conference USA, Utah St and SJ State to Mountain West, and Texas St to Sun Belt. Also the Big East will be getting SMU, UCF, Memphis, Houston, Boise St, and San Diego St next year, and Navy in 2015. Any other confirmed changes for next year/season?
  13. Upper lip? I don't understand what you're seeing, lol. Looks like a slightly deformed horse.
  14. nash61, you are absolutely correct about the Oilers.
  15. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. George W. Bush. Haha, not by a longshot. Again, I'm not saying that's automatically where the money goes at all. I am saying that some of the knockoff brands bought do have ties to those groups or individuals. Do you have any other comment besides a broad, incorrect, and meaningless generalization
  16. What part of what you quoted is reaching? Certainly not 100% of counterfeits "support terrorism" but if you ignore the fairly common links to these organizations and path of money you almost have to be willfully blind to it.
  17. I want more pictures of crappy merchandise. I did see a few new Lightning jerseys for sale at a local flea market today. Wonder how they got them so fast...
  18. Forgive my ignorance, but do all Packers shareholders and/or season ticket holders get a ring? How much do they cost? That's pretty dang cool.
  19. Could anyone post a summary of the changes that have either been made or are strongly rumored to be made in the future? I'd greatly appreciate that, I've been out of the loop far too long to try and catch up now.
  20. I think the Edmonton Oilers vintage colors are far and away the worst in hockey and terribly dated. I think the entire Dallas Stars identity is extremely feminine. The Flyers vintage/current look is held back by the nameplates and numbers that don't fit in the sleeve stripes. I understand being historically accurate if it's for a special event but if they're going to be used full time please don't retain sloppiness such as this.
  21. Someone please correct me if and where the following statement is incorrect: If the SEC adds teams, they are just cutting the money "pie" that they get from CBS/ESPN into smaller pieces. That 15 year deal won't be renegotiated and the money will just be split among more people, right?
  22. I haven't been keeping up with this over the past few weeks and to go back now and read this topic it's pretty surreal. There could be some huge changes next year. As a fan of an up and coming program it's definitely interesting to see how this all plays out and if there's potential for even more upward mobility.
  23. I'll just say I love that Lightning one, beyond the obvious reason. The colors are great and I think having each team that you beat on the side along with the series score is a nice touch to show how you got there. That Eagles one is nice as well, along with the 2001 Yankees AL Championship.
