  1. That's been discussed in this same thread at lease a couple times.
  2. H/T to facebook for this one. I didn't realize the MetroStars and Chivas USA coexisted.
  3. I've thought about this a couple times before. Does it make someone a hypocrite to download music while chastising someone for buying a knockoff jerseys? Short answer: No! Long answer: Musician, both on major and independent levels, make the vast majority of the money from things other than music sales. They get so little money from stuff sold in stores or online. Merchandise sales, record sales at shows, and shows themselves bring in far more money. Hell, I know of several musicians/bands that tell their fans to download and if they want to help out the band, buy merch/tickets. Do designers have the ability to go on tour and sell merch/tickets to make money? No. I have a question. Do designers make royalties for the number of jerseys sold? And I so does it vary from company to company? Designers are paid for their work. From that point, the team owns all the rights to the logo/jersey/wordmark. So because the designer doesn't make royalties so it's ok to buy knockoffs? If anything, the fact that the team makes the money and not the designer should make fans want to buy the real deal more. The whole "I like this team, let me not give them money and buy this POS over here," thought process makes no effing sense. And here's the gist of my opinion on fakes: 'em. those who make them. those who knowingly buy them. And those who defend these dumb decisions vehemently. Have a nice day to everyone else.

  5. GTFO. You just told a community of designers "IDGAF if it rips you off, I like it." So do most of us but we go about it in legit ways.
  6. My roommate is not a huge fan of FSU in the ACC. This is how I explained this is good for FSU to her, "The ACC seems to have realized who their prize winning fighter is in the past year or so. They been all up on FSU's D and loving them good." I also mentioned that the ACC Network is also probably a lock as I see that as the main reason FSU said "Ok, we'll do this deal."
  7. Not really. You're knowingly buying fakes. I'm sure the designers who designed the originals would love to know their opinions on fakes don't matter.
  8. Aresco said they'll be pushing the league being referred to as The American and not AAC.
  9. I forget who, I think it may be Dish, but one provider only carries the national network and has no interest in the regionals.
  10. Not really, it's just Conference USA 2.0.....and this coming from a fan of a team in the new conference. My hope is that more dominoes fall ahead of USF, so that the ACC will have to replenish their Florida presence. I mainly meant it as it's just a name change. I'm not trying to say it's the same as the old Big East but it's just a simple name change for the current league.
  11. The league will just have a new name. It will still be the same league.
  12. Have you seen a game in Dallas? They were near the bottom of the league in attendance last year and this start sure isn't going to help that this season. Then you have a team like Tampa Bay that regularly sells out the TBTF, including all games this season.
  13. Did you really just ask if a Mountain West team would play a Big East schedule? There are no contracts involved like in OOC games. The only reason those games were scheduled is because Boise was going to be in the Big East. Now you'll just see the MW work out a schedule that now involves Boise, and likely SDSU, staying.
  14. If you're going to be pompous, at least get you're facts straight. FBS schools have 85 scholarships. ODU's coach is a big believer in not traveling for a payday and has said when they reach the FBS level, it's home-and-home deals or nothing. Now I'm sure if the money is enough, that can change (and probably should at times to increase cash available for the program and department), but that explains why they haven't played one yet. They're looking for success and not a payday. That money can't take away the sting of a loss from the players since they won't see any of it. ODU has put together a simply yet high power offense and a decent enough defense. They have recruited pretty damn well and are continuing to do so. They play ECU, Maryland, UNC and Idaho next year with only 10 games on the schedule right now (they're working on adding another FCS school and they could add another FBS game for #12).
  15. New Division 1 hockey league: Western Collegiate Hockey League
  16. Oh, Dot Com. Floating rumors to get subscribers as always. Warchant has gone way, way, way down hill. They hit the bottom of the valley and started digging. I'm not saying that this won't happen just that I don't trust Gene one bit. He's got a few nice people under him, and at least one good writer, but he's killing the site and has been for years.
  17. They get in trouble with the NCAA mainly because of football. They flip flop between wanting to play with the big boys and not and when they do try, they have no idea how to cover their tracks like the big boys.
  18. It could mean so many things but it means absolutely nothing.
  19. The most consistent NC/VA rumors have VaTech and NCSU to the SEC. I guess that stems from people speculating that Duke and UNC won't want to be split up. NC State wouldn't repeat the red and black, at least not in football, as they have continually de-emphasized it in their football uniforms recently.
