AFL Finals - Week One

Ok...at 6.50 last night on channel 10, the AFL announced the finals schedule for week one as:

Friday Night

Brisbane Lions v St Kilda @ 7.30 eastern; @ the Gabba, Brisbane

Saturday Afternoon

Melbourne v Essendon @ 2.30 eastern; @ the MCG, Melbourne

Saturday Night

Sydney Swans v West Coast Eagles @ 7.30 eastern; @ Telstra Stadium, Sydney*

Sunday Afternoon

Port Adelaide v Geelong @ 2.30 central; @ AAMI Stadium, Adeladie

*also known as Olympic Stadium or Stadium Australia, used as main stadium in 2000 for those that don't know

My predictions are:

Saints

Dons

Swans

Power

that will mean that in week two:

Lions v Swans @ Gabba

Cats v Dons @ MCG

the top two ranked week one winners advance to the preliminary final in which they are entitled to host unless neither of the sides are victorian based and then the team ranked lower will be forced to host a final at the MCG as part of the AFL-MCC 40yr contract (they had to pay for the Great Southern Stand some how)

Or in my case, just follow it on my computer.

Am I the only one ticked off at the pseudy "Sports Network" we have "Up Here"?

they'd ratehr show 5 installments of WWE-RAW per day then show one of th most exciting sports around...

Remember when they used to broadcast the game of the week in Fast Forward (60 minutes)?

Then they went to only the Grand Finale live, then Grand Finale the one week later, now it's NADA...

TSN has taken so much the persona of it's US partner, that I'm surprised they don't show us the NCAA High School entry draft live.

I don't even think FoxSportsWorld does...

The AFL website lets internationals watch the game over broadband after it finishes.

You have to register, but it's better than nothing.

Also, AFANA should be able to tell you where and when it's on Canadian TV.

Oh, and I've got a site.
