Could the Run and Shoot Offense work in today's NFL?

With a heavy emphasis on passing in the NFL these days, could the run and shoot offense work in the NFL today?  It had some success 30 years ago, but the NFL wasn't as pass happy as it is now.

Depends on the team I think. If we look at a team like Kansas City or Buffalo, the Run and Shoot would work pretty well with who they have there now. Looking at a team that has maybe two great receivers but no run game, it will help win games but not playoff games. The old Houston Oilers in the 1990's is a great example of this.

Isn’t the Spread offense a lot of NFL teams run nowadays a successor to the Run and Shoot offense? If that’s the case, then it’s basically proven that, yes, it can work in today’s NFL.
