DEAD!
Can you say, "they did not spend enough in brodcast rights?" Some of our Aussie friends will probably tell you the whole story. The broadcast rights now belong to Nine network, Ten Network and I think Fox Footy channel as well I saw, I came, I left.

DEAD!
well aussie you probably know the story better than I do. I think Seven probably wanted it, but was not willing to pay A$400 million over five years. I saw, I came, I left.
Gregmond
Channel7 want (need) AFL so bad it kills them not to have it.Before the negotiations over the broadcast rights began, channel 7 struck a separate deal with the league that allows them to make the first and last bid in the negotiations. Despite this coup, they still didn't put a good enough deal on the table (to compete with three parties - 9, 10 & Fox), and so now they have nothing!Next time around, channel 7 will throw everything into to make sure they win back the rights (end of 2006 I think). Bruce McAvaney must be going crazy without it! Thanks to Gobbi for the awesome buttons!
