DEAD!
I've heard of the Carling Cup, but I'm not sure it's purpose is. I saw, I came, I left.
pittunited
I've heard of the Carling Cup, but I'm not sure it's purpose is.A lot of the top clubs don't see its purpose, either... that's why clubs like Manchester United and ARSEnal usually send out scrubs to play in the early rounds of it.The League Cup is open only to Premier League and Football League clubs, and the winner gets a spot in the UEFA Cup challenge the following season. So basically, it's just another cup challenge designed to potentially bring in more money for the lower-division clubs. The FA Cup (the older and the much more prestigious of the two) is open to everyone from the Premier League down to the lower divisions of the Northern, Southern, and Isthmian leagues. WelshSteeler
The FA Cup was (is?) sponsored by AXA and was referred to as"The FA Cup sponsored by AXA" but never the AXA FA Cup.I saw my local team (Newport County)get through to the 4th Qualifying Round last night so we're one game away from the main competition.
