Bobsledder Zardo quits Cdn. team

This has a very bizarre feel to it, especially with less than 10 months until the Turin Olympics ... TSN.ca

What I found most interesting, though, was the fact Zardo intends to sign with the Eskimos. Talk about changing careers midstream.

Hey, if Hershell Walker can make the US Bobsled team, surely, Zardo can make the Eskimos ;)

Zardo has played football in High School, so it's not like changing for a completely new experience.

I've read about it on RDS.ca (the french TSN) that he would probably join the Eskimos as a special units specialist, so that his return would be easier for him. My guess is he could be one fast wide receiver...

If he leaves the bobsleigh team though, it'll be hard for Lueders to find someone he is comfortable bobsleighing (?) with. But I can understand Zardo's motivation to leave, as he was set aside by the coach, even though he deserved his place on the team.
