Minnesota Thunder supporters scarves

Recommended Posts

Our very unofficially gathered group of Minnesota Thunder supporters, the "Dark Clouds," is coming up with ideas for our supporters' scarves for the 2006 season. Here's my first design idea:

Front / Back

The elements on the images are not anti-aliased, since I've been told they shouldn't be when we prep them for production. Also, I left the fringes off, but I would think they'd be gold, like with the 2005 version.

Previous years' scarves:

2004: Front / Back

2005: Front/Back

Comments, suggestions, etc? Anyone have experience with this?

Thanks. I'm not sure a skyline would work--there's not much in the Minneapolis or St. Paul skyline that would be recognizable to anyone from outside the area.

As for buying an '05 scarf, I think I've heard that they're all sold out.

get the thunders logo on there - and make the cloud more prominent. i like the supporter motto on there a lot

We're specifically not putting Thunder logos on there, at least that seems to be the consensus thought. That way, it's something for the supporters, by the supporters, and not just a scarf with the team logo thrown on it like all the scarves you could go buy at, say, MLSNet.com.

As for the cloud... bigger, eh?

Are you insinuating you've helped threaten the horizon at the Jimmy, spyboy? (If not, you should next year!)

Version 2!

Front / Back

The outline/shadow on the headline text has been removed, per someone's suggestions, and the skew has been reduced. I like both versions, so I'm considering that pretty interchangable at this point. The clouds on the back have also been made larger. (FYI, the clouds aren't my original design; they are the same clouds from the 2005 scarf and the supporters web site.)

We're debating leaving the stadium/city text out, but I wasn't sure what to replace it with, so it sits there for now as an example.

Time to bring this back from page 5, and introduce version 3:

Front / Back

Changes:

- Main text enlarged, no longer skewed.

- Adjusted kerning on main text.

- Made end checkerboard patterns longer.

- Merged Minnesota shape and star on front. (Not sure yet if I like it.)

- Changed top front text to read "Since 1990." (Had previously been stadium/city.)

Again, I consider a lot of the elements from all three versions to be pretty interchangable, so they could be mixed and matched if necessary.

This is for something that will actually be made, and not just a fantasy concept. So, I'd appreciate any suggestions/critiques y'all can offer. Thanks.
