Detroit Lions Concept

And maybe I should clear-up what I meant in the topic title. I was stating that the team is bad, not so much the uniforms.

I once had a car but I crashed it. I once had a guitar but I smashed it. I once, wait where am I going with this?

I also hate the wordmark; It's FUGLY! It doesn't look like it's spelled "Lions" at all!

TRASH THIS CONCEPT; TRASH IT NOW!!

Nice C&C, idiot. How old are you again?<_<

18!

Okay, my question is why did you give him some good critique, then came back and just trashed his concept? What gives?

Now, that update is a sure improvement. The mane could still stick out a little more over the top of the lion, the teeth look good, and I'm still not feeling the pinstripes. One thing, the lion looks a little bit like he's smiling, maybe change his expression a little to make it more intimidating. Keep it up, you're doing better.

The font in question looks like DarkWind to me (Donnie is a similar font that would do a better job of differentiating the letters).

'Dawg, I like just about every aspect of this design, except the lion, though not necessarily all together. They just don't seem that cohesive, IMHO.

Logos: Honestly, I could even live with the lion if it didn't seem so horizontally stretched and if all the outlines had a consistent thickness. That Olde English "D" is nicely done, but doesn't have anything to do with the rest of the package. It's not even the same D you use in the wordmark.

Helmet: Yeah, the lion logo looks better on the helmet.

Uniforms: Sorry, y'all, I'm with 'Scrim, I like the pinstripes. I think they were well done, but I also think they should be silver not black. I also like the suggestion of the soccer stripes as well. So many good things you can do with it. The sleeve stripes are all over the place, but that's kinda cool in a way. I really like that silver/black filmstrip pattern stripe, I think you could add that stripe to the pants and maybe ever the neck and sleeve trim (something funky like the T-Wolves do).

Wordmark: It's cool, but it just doesn't seem to fit. LIONS is too blocky, it's not fluid. You may want to choose another font for DETROIT altogether. It's an interesting combination, I just don't think it works for a NFL team. That cursive LIONS script I've seen would be really nice with this set, I think (but then you'd really have to change the DETROIT font).

As Chief10 said, definite improvement on the update. Keep plugging away, it's gonna get there.

Oh, and JH42XCC...just shut up. Go download some porn or something and come back when you're not an idiot.

Version 3...

1) Shortened the body of the lion again, I think this time it looks more balanced.

2) The pinstripes on the home jersery are now silver

3) Changed the font of DETROIT in the wordmark

4) The D in the secondary logo is now the same font as LIONS in the wordmark

Good, I like the direction this is going in. Now, if you look at the mane, the black outline of the head is not even. Know what I'm saying? The wordmark can still use some work. Maybe take the corners off of the "O" to make it clearer. And I personally don't like the pinstripes still, but whatever works for you. Keep going.

It's getting better from where you started, but I'm just not liking any part of this concept. Sorry.

1. LOGO. The legs don't look leonine (too short and stubby), the face looks more like a beak, the mane looks more like a ruffled collar on a clown suit than a mane.

2. ALT. LOGO. Blue "D" on top of a thick blue stripe renders this less legible than you'd like. I get where you got the stripes from, but they take away from the "D" here.

3. WORDMARK. Easier to read now, but it's not working for this concept. If you're going to keep the "D" monogram, try basing the wordmark on this. Consider cutting down the size of the vertical serif on the "L" so it looks less like another letter.

4. HELMET. Silver on dark silver? Honolulu blue logo atop a Honolulu blue stripe? This is going to come off as an undiscernable jumble. Part of the reason the current logo works is that the lion is all blue against a silver background. Again, if you're dead-set on using these logos, make the silver stripe white - it'll give you a little more freedom to experiment.

5. UNIFORMS. None of this is really cutting it. Pinstripes... cut! 2 solid colored stripes with a patterned stripe... cut! Pinstriped area extending below the stripes... cut!

Like I said, it's going in the right direction, but you've got a long way to go. Keep pluggin'!

In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.

Love the uniforms, especially the pinstripes! Love em, love 'em, love 'em. I also like the updated wordmark.

I'm not crazy about the helmets and other marks, but I love the ideas you are trying. The lion does look a little piggish, but that's easily solved with a little massaging. The original logo that one is based on was always a bit of an oddball to me, anyway. Updating it successfully would be a challenge.
