Hat Boy
This is ridiculous this happens way to often, and Arena or stadium should not be allowed to change it name every other year. There needs to be consistency. In between the change from FleetCenter to TD Banknorth Garden, you could buy naming rights to the arena for the day (money went to charity). The name of the arean changed everyday for 1 or 2 weeks. Everything from business names or peoples names went up in lights for the night.Even with the new name, you can still refer to it as FleetCenter and people know what you are talking about. Since it isn't the original Boston Garden anymore, you can all it whatever you want.Whether it is the MCI Center or Verizon Center doesn't matter since it isn't the Capital Centre anymore (we are talking about DC, right?). slapshot
The Capital Centre and MCI/Verizon Center are two different arenas in two different cities. The Cap is in Landover, Maryland (also home to FedEx Field, I think). The MCI Center is in Washington, DC. The Capital Centre (a/k/a USAirways Arena) was imploded a few years back. When it existed, however, it was indeed in Landover, MD.
