The Oakland Coliseum isn't THAT bad, anyway. If they build a new cookie-cutter-classic park, they'll never be able to get away with that huge foul territory they have now. It'll be cramped as hell. BUT WITH MODERN AMENITIES!

♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Have you ever been there? It may have been nice before Mt. Davis but now it is not.

The Metrodome and Tropicana Field are worse in the AL, RFK and Dolphin Stadium are worse than the Coliseum as well. It's not the prettiest park by any means, but it seems appropriate for a low-budget no-frills organization like the A's. It's like shopping at Aldi. It's ugly and utilitarian, but you get good results for cheap, the fans and front office both. They don't really belong in some cozy neoclassical park. That doesn't sound very Oakland to me.

Agreed about Tropicana Field, haven't been to the others. I thought the Vet and Candlestick were also worse. Since my favorite team is in the AL, I am stuck going to see them at the Colisseum who's plusses are that it is easy to get to by highway and mass transit which could be a major issue at a park in Fremont (which is much more upscale than Oakland).
