GFB
While watching the Trojans kick around my poor Wolverines, I noticed something strange. John David Booty wears the #10, but one of their linebackers also wears the #10. Did anyone else see this? Thanks and have a Happy New Year..... Thanks and have a Happy New Year.....Only a certain amount of numbers to go around and schools like OSU/USC retire numbers for their Heisman winners, so you'll have a bunch of numbers duplicated. A lot of times it is one player and a scout team walk-on or redshirting freshman, but there are obviously exceptions to that. Plus, a lot of guys want to wear a lower number. PackerBadger
A lot of schools have duplicate numbers where one player on offense and one player on defense will wear that number. It's easier to figure out when teams have names on their uniforms, unlike USC.
Audiodrama
The other #10 is LB Brian Cushing, who I believe was actually named Defensive MVP of the Rose Bowl.
iowahoo
Fairly common in college football. There is a rule that the players with the same numbers cannot be on the field at the same time.
