AndrewPF Posted March 4, 2008 Share Posted March 4, 2008 Hey everyone, I recently took a picture of some mountains in Arizona and GIMP'ed in a picture of Shaq so that it looks like he is coming up over the mountains like Godzilla or something. As of right now, it looks half decent but has some flaws. I would also like to have some kind of funny caption. I was hoping that some of you design wizards might give me some pointers on how to improve it and maybe suggest some captions. Even if one of you is bored and wants to take it and see what you can do, you can. Thanks!~Bostonfan2004PS- If this should be in General Design or something...Sorry! Sport Posted March 4, 2008 Share Posted March 4, 2008 first of all, it doesn't look half decent. I don't know what you used but photoshop would be the best way to go here. Cut out shaq's entire body then place him behind the mountains using two layers. In other words the layer order would go -mountains - shaq - mountains. On the first mountain layer cut a hole for shaq to be seen through, but not so he overlaps the mountains that should be in front of him (cut out the sky, don't touch the mountains). gingerbreadmann Posted March 5, 2008 Share Posted March 5, 2008 Oh boy... sorry bro but that's just ugly.Do basically what mac2 said and try to make a cleaner cut, you can use the Paths tool for this(or a lot of tedious erasing), but it is entirely possible to use GIMP. I'd look for a higher quality picture of Shaquille, and then use a brush when cutting out that has a bit of a buffer on it. A fade I guess you could call it, so if there was a slight mistake, it wouldn't be so obvious.
