Questions about Dodger Stadium

Since I'm here in CA, I want to go to at least 1 baseball game. I will actually be in LA on Tuesday the 8th. I'm dropping my Wife off at LAX, the plane leaves around 5:30 pm. Is is feasable to make it the the Stadium for a 7:15 game? Will I end up there in the 4th inning?

Also, I'm reading that whatever ticket you get, you are confined to that area or level, you can't walk around the whole stadium. Knowing this, is it dumb to get a ticket in the Outfield Pavilion?

Also, I've read about the parking horrors... is there any recommendation you can give to make it less horrific? As of right now, i'm planning on being in the outfield, and I'll need to get to I-5 North.

Thanks for any input!

If her plane is scheduled to leave at 5:30, then you will have to get to LAX by at least 4. If you drop her off and get on the 105, you should get to Dodger Stadium by the first pitch. Whatever you do, stay off the 405. If you are leaving LAX at 5:30, then you will find it much harder to make it.

Last season, the Dodgers changed the entry/exit into all lots and while confusing and painful at the start of last season, most fans got used ot it. This season, they added about 1,000 spots be removing landscaping. Check out their website for more information. Also, it costs $15 to park.

This is from personal experience, which I'll admit has been absolutely horrible at Dodger Stadium, but any time you go to the game getting there isn't generally a huge problem. It's the parking that will KILL you. Now maybe in the handfull of times I've been there I just got really unlucky, but once you get near Dodger Stadium, unless you're on a bus, have a handicapped placard, or walk, expect around a two hour wait just to get parked. Now maybe the changes dfwabel mentioned really have fixed up that place to where it is efficient enough to end those waits, but to be completely honest from my own personal experience, you have a better shot of driving from LA to the Angels game and catch the first few innings, and they're in Texas that day

But I will say this, if you do decide to catch the 7th, 8th, and 9th of that game, I'd highly suggest you purchase tickets in the nosebleeds behind the base paths rather than the outfield, if for nothing more than the spectacular view of the Los Angeles area alone. IMO that is by far the best part of the stadium.
