Seattle U Throwbacks

Was flipping through the channels when I saw the replay for the Seattle U vs. Washington and they were wearing some pretty weird jerseys. Every one of them was like a tee. Pretty cool though, definitely a throwback by every definition. Pictures found here:

Throwback definately, as their colors are not red/black/gray. Very Evansville.

This just screams "Women's Basketball" to me.

Also notable: late in the game, with a short bench, Seattle broke out a 4-man lineup to prevent jeopardizing the redshirt status of one of its players.

Guess that's why they got blown out.

They also had players wear the retired numbers of some the older players. Charles Garcia normally wears 45, but he wore Elgin Baylor's 22 in the game.

For those that don't know, Seattle U had a great basketball tradition in the 50's, then went down to Division II in the 70's. This is their first full season back in Division I, playing as an independent.

Those definatley look like something you would see in women's basketball in the 80's.

The Evansville men's team wore sleeves up until the early 2000s, IIRC.

Btw this is old hat for Notre Dame. Knits Rockne made up George Tip's death bed speech.
