Webhamster
How come they're out of order? 134 then 133?STS-133 was manifested as the final flight a long time ago. Before leaving office, Bush signed a budget that provided funds to deliver the AMS via an extra flight (it was left out because the budget was too tight to bring it up under the guideline to end the program by September 2010). Since all the payloads and planning documents were all already assigned to STS-133, they called the new one 134 and slotted it ahead of 133. It's alot easier to do that than to re-write the piles of checklists, documents, filings, etc for the sake of appearances. There was discussion late last year about possibly adding an STS-135 flight, in which case it would have also been slotted before 133. It happened a lot in the past when payloads slipped or they changed the order of things to do from the original planning. Last year 119, for example, flew after 126. Webhamster
Sweet Jeebus....Holy Busy Logo!!!Is this typical of NASA logos????Atoms are busy things... It's quite obviously based on the atomic diagram since it's all about delivering a device to be used for searching for dark matter:If you want a good overview of all the shuttle patches I recommend starting here: spacepatches.nl. It is far from the busiest and, actually, I think it's one of the best ones. I suspect alot of metallic thread will be used when they embroider this one.
