I'd make the crown smaller, as you mentioned. Also, the crown has 7 points on it, not 6 (it traditionally symbolizes one for each continent, but that might just be a meaning retroactively applied to it).

I wouldn't cut down on the number of windows though. While you could make some changes to the face, even if they're not entirely realistic, I'd keep everything else about the statue as realistic as possible, including the windows and number of points of the crown.

EDIT: If you look closely at the statue, it actually does have a slight scowl. And the points on the crown are smaller and thinner than normally depicted. Thicken up the lines and take out some unecessary details. Im sure the rest has already been said by others, such as making the mouth wider and fixing the eyes. This has potential and is a nice idea.
