Raymie
I saw this today and immediately thought of our favorite contrasting nameplates. Not sure why this exists. Nameplates in HS *are* rare, though.
scottysprings
If I had to guess the school probably uses white nameplates on both their red and white jerseys for money or supply reasons. Or perhaps their PA announcer has poor eyesight and they did this for increased contrast.
hockey week
I just did PA for the Erie Explosion vs Cincinnati Commandos game (Indoor Football) and Cincy had contrasting nameplates. Personally, I think it worked really well Their road jerseys are actually silver, not white, and have the slightest green tint to them. Probably the best identity in indoor football, imo I'll respect any opinion that you can defend.
Raymie
To even have nameplates in HS is strange. Most HS uniforms are NNOB.

aci
When I was in high school, my school paid for the football players' jerseys, and then if the player chipped in the extra (think it was $15 or $20), the school would order their jersey with their name on the back. So half the team had NOBs, and half didn't.And I think these non-matching nameplates are a silly gimmick. On some dark jerseys (Flyers' orange), it definitely makes sense because either white or black lettering wouldn't contrast. But on that silver jersey Hockey Week posted, a silver nameplate with dark lettering should have sufficed.
