  1. The site https://www.mascotdb.com/browse does not list this mascot. As far as I can tell, it's a very comprehensive list of mascots and teams that use them.
  2. They announced in October that they're merging the athletics programs into a single Division I program.
  3. My thoughts exactly. They say to "honor and unite the traditions." If they were going to do that, then go with green for the Post campus and black for the Brooklyn campus.
  4. I'd imagine that LIU will. LBSU is keeping their interlocking LB and their "Beach" wordmark in their set. So who knows how heavily LBSU will actually lean into the new nickname. Meanwhile, LIU is starting from scratch--merged institution, new nickname, new colors (blue and gold).
  5. https://liuathletics.com/news/2019/5/15/general-welcome-to-the-shark-tank-liu-chooses-sharks-as-new-mascot.aspx "LIU teams will compete as Sharks beginning this September"
  6. So the combined LIU teams will go by the nickname of Sharks starting next year. We went from having no sharks in Division I to two (with Long Beach State).
  7. Count me in the minority, but I think the Greensboro new logo is a downgrade. It looks too "of its time" and it looks like a ripoff of a Rickabaugh logo.
  8. https://www.postandcourier.com/sports/evolution-of-bucky-how-charleston-southern-and-disney-designed-its/article_ad7a982a-606a-11e9-bbc1-8bd40a1f8377.html Apparently some Disney animators helped work on the new Charleston Southern logo.
  9. I wish they'd have kept the ship in some form.
  10. That's what Phoenix does. For a while, they used Impact for a lot of things (UMass Lowell, Rhode Island College, Iona, LIU Post, Jacksonville State, Siena, SUNY Poly)
  11. I actually don't see what's wrong with MSU's bear head. I like it.
  12. I'm just glad Phoenix doesn't seem to have any new identities being unleashed. I wish my alma mater would get away from their work...
  13. https://calvulcans.com/news/2019/2/21/general-cal-u-reveals-new-university-athletic-logos.aspx Let's give Carnegie Dartlet the credit for this 1) That's a gorgeous Vulcan logo 2) I love the hammer hidden in the "C". That can work on its own.
  14. Honestly, I wouldn't change anything. Dale Earnhardt is from there, and a huge name. Not to mention that famed NASCAR artist Sam Bass designed the logo. They should play up the NASCAR connection as much as possible. The only thing I'd consider, if anything, is to have Bass do a new logo set.
  15. I'd love to see a render of that bird logo on its own.
  16. Hey that wasn't meant to call you out or anything, FYI. So sorry if it came off that way.
  17. With Merrimack leaving, the NE-10 will still have fourteen all-sports members. They'll just be down to eight (LIU Post was an affiliate member) for football. The conference actually didn't replace UMass Lowell when it left in 2013.
  18. EWC also used a recolored version of Towson's tiger logo:
  19. So many questions! That bear is so small, what is it made of? Then by contrast, the flag should also be invisible! Also, it's using electron orbits to suspend itself from, which makes no sense! (sarcasm intended)
