  1. I actually wish that there would be a way to either merge USports and the NCAA or move more Canadian (and Mexican) schools into the NCAA as a whole. I think, for example, that Carleton University in Ottawa would be a top 40 team in Division 1 in men's basketball. They regularly beat NCAA teams in exhibitions and have won 15 out of 18 USports championships.
  2. It could. However, I would think that W&L and Millsaps nicknames could be made general enough to not evoke any confederate imagery. The names of the schools themselves, that's another thing for people way smarter than me to tackle.
  3. Yes they are. I included them on the list because they are a Texas-based thing with two "orders," one in Houston and one in San Antonio. Since it was Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word being the organization that--is it oversees?--UIW, I included them. I'm not familiar enough with Catholic religious orders to know exactly how that all works, the differences between Jesuits, Franciscans, and however many others there are. My Wiki research essentially was looking at each school's Wiki page and seeing whether the affiliation said "Roman Catholic (Jesuit)" or some other such thing, or if it was just "Roman Catholic." So forgive me if I made any mistakes in my admittedly cursory research there.
  4. With some quick Wikipedia research, so take that for what it's worth, it seems that there are a handful of such schools: Incarnate Word Mount St. Mary's Sacred Heart Seton Hall Bellarmine (reclassifying from D2) St. Thomas (will reclassify from D3)
  5. Reminds me of when Holy Cross did their study and decided to retire the crusader logo, replacing it with the "HC" shield, but kept the nickname.
  6. https://hbcugameday.com/2020/06/30/delaware-state-sticking-with-the-meac/ Delaware State is not leaving the MEAC, and the other schools likely breathed a sigh of relief. For now.
  7. The top slant is intentional. 9 degrees. Represents "energy" or some such nonsense.
  8. According to boldrush.com, it has a "9-degree forward tilt that illustrates the brand's positive energy and forward momentum." Barf.
  9. I think the tertiary logo for Stephen F. Austin should be promoted to the primary.
  10. I like the second logo, the first wordmark.
  11. I'm curious why they're painting all those logos on their practice fields. Why not just have plain fields for practice?
  12. IMO, if you're going to put silver trim on the uniform, then it should probably go on the logo set. I also think the eyes of the tiger need pupils of some sort. It looks like a squinting tiger.
  13. I'm sure that, and that they somehow have a good portfolio. They've done work for Alabama, Arkansas, three U. of California campuses, Colgate, Delaware State, Fordham, Brown, Harvard, Houston, Iona, James Madison, Lafayette, LSU, Ole Miss, NC A&T, W&M, and University of Washington. That's four SEC schools in their profile, an Ivy, two Pac-12 schools, among others. So that, I'm sure, does carry some cachet that helps them get work. Likely AD's go to their counterparts at various schools and ask, "Who did you use to design 'X'?"
  14. Old logo for Cortland for comparison. Like anything Phoenix Design does, downgrade...…...
  15. Consider that the WAC has two west coast religious schools that could both conceivably end up in the WCC in Seattle and Cal Baptist, should they wish to expand. Also, Grand Canyon is religious and could themselves end up in the WCC. This conference is barely more stable than the Great West conference was. (Notice that the WAC features THREE former GWC members in UTRGV, UVU, and Chicago State.)
  16. The "Walking Deacon" instantly reminded me of Washburn University's Ichabod logo. They're close enough, I think, that Washburn could ask to have it changed. I say that based on Iowa vs. Southern Miss.
  17. https://brand.ku.edu/guidelines/typography They are making the mistake of moving away from Trajan...
  18. It's Northampton Community College, NJCAA Region 19. It's in Bethlehem, PA.
  19. Firstly, I love the Stars design. That Willis Tower logo is kick-ass, and the uniforms are great. Secondly, what's "Affinity Designer?" Is it free?
  20. I'd say that that wasn't worth the refresh. It's not different enough to warrant the changes, IMO.
  21. And a trillion points to the person who did the photo shop. They even replaced the "Dolphins" wordmark on the jersey with a "Grateful Dead" one.
