  1. That's a fair question. I was trying to solve the "4 teams in Texas" problem and overthought the situation. I saw that San Antonio was the furthest "West". Vegas in the Pacific makes more sense. Thinking this through, I would stack Austin, Houston, and San Antonio in the Central; move Dallas to the Northwest to maintain the Avs-Stars and Stars-Wild rivalry; which allows me to move Vegas to the Pacific.
  2. Hey @TrueYankee26, here's my take on your NHL 2054 if the league had 3 divisions in each conference. Northeast Atlantic Southeast Central Northwest Pacific Boston Baltimore Atlanta Austin Calgary Anaheim Buffalo Columbus Carolina Chicago Colorado Los Angeles Hartford Kentucky Florida Houston Dallas Phoenix Detroit New Jersey Nashville Indianapolis Edmonton Portland Montreal New York I. Norfolk Milwaukee Kansas City San Jose Ottawa New York R. Orlando New Orleans Minnesota Seattle Quebec City Philadelphia Tampa Bay San Antonio Utah Vancouver Toronto Pittsburgh Washington St. Louis Winnipeg Vegas
  3. Now thst makes sense to some degree. Does the Meadowlands have space for a baseball stadium?
  4. There's absolutely no chance that the Northeast Megapolis will add five new MLB teams 30 years from now. It's crazy to imagine having two (three?) teams in the Philadelphia area and two teams in Washington, DC!
  5. I'll root for anyone to win MLS Cup this year except for the following clubs (I have my own reasons): Atlanta, Austin FC, LAFC, Inter Miami, NYCFC, and Seattle.
  6. Some sports sites have said the deal has "hit a roadblock" instead of saying the deal "is dead". Regardless how the media spins it, the Caps and Wiz should stay where they are in DC.
  7. If I remember correctly, the Nats Front Office was considering Senators as the team name back in 2004. However, it was ruled out since DC doesn't have any voting representation in the Senate. I agree with you about using the Grays nickname, which was a missed opportunity.
  8. An even more stupid name is "Phillies" which is a short name for "Philadelphias". In essence, the Southeast Pennsylvania ballclub is called the Philadelphia Philadelphias.
  9. The new Nats away and 3rd jerseys are garbage. They give off a "discounted Walmart merchandise" vibe.
  10. I love the simplicity! Easily in the top 10 U.S. State flags.
  11. This is an embarrassment for all of US Soccer. The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is the oldest club cup that we have and it's a fantastic way to grow the sport. It should be given more respect by MLS!
  12. There's one Metro stop that is shared by the Blue and Yellow lines. A rendering of the planned (future?) site is below. The red is the stadium location. For comparison, the Green and Yellow lines all have a stop directly at Capital One Arena. The Blue, Orange, Silver, and Red lines have a stop a few blocks away from the arena. This is a blow to downtown DC.
  13. I hope this is a ploy and Leonsis should have enough capital to privately pay for the Capital One Arena upgrades. It would be a shame if the Caps and Wizards relocated to Potomac Yards. That is an affluent area of Alexandria city and not far from Reagan National Airport. Congestion would become a nightmare, if it isnt already! I believe DC mentioned that they would cover $500 million in upgrades to the arena to keep both teams in the city.
  14. It'll be challenging for FCC to have the same success in 2024 that they did in 2023. I don't see them rebounding from a crushing loss or adding silverware next season. Yes, Suarez will join Miami. Yes, they both have played their final matches in MLS. Yes, they might have a deal in place to build a stadium in Everett, MA. Being closer to Boston should help! Sounded like Garber was devaluing the U.S. Open Cup, which would be a huge step back for MLS I hope that all US-based MLS clubs continue to participate. I don't follow USL that much, but I'd hazard a guess that new clubs don't perform that well in their inaugural season. Increased attendance, exposure, and revenue for NWSL. Too soon to tell. The USL Super League starts in August and operates on a different season schedule. My gut feeling is that one league will become the bonafide Division 1 and the other will become Division 2.
  15. It is 32.8 miles from M&T Bank (Ravens) to Landover Field (Commanders), https://maps.app.goo.gl/NbZqcqd9JdmdZvnP6.
  16. It would be hilarious if Soto is a one-year rental for the Yankees, only for him to sign a long-term deal with the Mets the following off-season.
  17. Rhode Island FC doesn't have a partnership with the New England Revolution , so this is a moot point. I pointed out the kit colors in the comments section of the article, As for the choice of lightning, Rhode Island has had significant lightning strikes over the years due to severe storms. A bolt hit the state capitol building years ago. Also, the club crest has lightning bolts in it attached to the side of the anchor.
  18. I'm rooting for Columbus because I'm anti-Los Angeles Galaxy and LAFC as well as anti-Austin FC.
  19. Here's the final six flags under consideration for the new Minnesota state flag. They’re here! See final 6 design candidates for new Minnesota state flag | MPR News
  20. Caleb Williams won't make a difference if there's no O-Line protecting him. Oh, and he wouldn't become a part-time owner either.
  21. There appear to be numerous fundamental concerns that MLB must tackle in the future, particularly when it comes to promoting its top athletes and postseason contests to generate more public enthusiasm for the World Series. This postseason serves as a clear example: when all the favored teams are eliminated, will the World Series still draw viewers? I can honestly say that I couldn't even name eight players in total from the Rangers and Diamondbacks teams. I'm skeptical that a different World Series matchup would have fared better to enhance mass appeal, such as Houston vs. Philadelphia or Texas vs. Atlanta. On a personal level, my only allegiance lies with the Nationals, and I find it challenging to root for about three-fourths of the League when it comes to watching or supporting a specific team in the World Series.
