  1. The St. James is mostly known as a large indoor waterpark. The facilities are nice from what I remember. There is also one in Reston.
  2. I'm aware where the yellow comes from. I even stated that in my initial comment on page 1.
  3. But why though? All kidding aside. My guess is that the club needed to enhance their color palette by adding "neutral colors" and differentiating from the other red/blue clubs in the league. I'm not a fan of the yellow trim either.
  4. Maybe it's the lighting, but shouldn't the pink red be darker? Also, yellow, though not an official club color, was added to the jersey trim because of the city flag?
  5. Wales #1 Netherlands #1 Senegal #2 Qatar #2
  6. No. All the other proposed sites were abandoned or didn't make much sense.
  7. I'm concerned about the goalscoring abilities. Pulisic (52 appearances [A]/21 goals [G]), Morris (49A/11G), McKennie (37A/9G), Ferreira (15A/7G), and Aaronson (24A/6G), doesn't seem intimidating. The USMNT might not have enough firepower for the World Cup.
  8. I'm happy they made that run too! It made it up for all those playoff heartbreaks beforehand. Who knows when the Nats will make it back to the World Series.
  9. The player exodus continues for the Nats. I'm not sure what, if any, high-level talent would come to DC in the offseason, especially since it doesn't help that the team is for sale. 10. It's official: former DCU head coach, Ben Olsen, named new Houston Dynamo head coach
  11. MLS represented by Austin FC, Orlando City SC, Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Los Angeles FC, and Philadelphia Union in the 2023 Concacaf Champions League. Not sure if an MLS club will win the tournament this time around, but we shall see. 2023 CONCACAF Champions League schedule Round of 16: March 7-9 (first legs); March 14-16 (second legs) Quarterfinals: April 4-6 (first legs); April 11-13 (second legs) Semifinals: April 25-27 (first legs); May 2-4 (second legs) Final: May 31 (first leg) and June 4 (second leg)
  12. San Diego, Las Vegas expansion in "active discussions": MLS Commissioner Don Garber I would prefer San Diego over a Las Vegas club. However, I wouldn't be surprised if both cities join the League. Also, it wouldn't surprise me at all when MLS expands beyond 30 clubs. Seems to be the way things are going anyway. MLS Open To Playoff Revamp: Garber I know the possible playoff changes were mentioned several posts ago, but it's good to hear that the Commish address it.
  13. American Football Conference National Football Conference West South Central East West South Central East Arizona Houston Cincinnati Buffalo Dallas Atlanta Chicago Baltimore Denver Miami Cleveland New England LA Rams Carolina Green Bay NY Giants LA Chargers New Orleans Detroit NY Jets San Francisco Jacksonville Minnesota Philadelphia Las Vegas Tampa Bay Indianapolis Pittsburgh Seattle Tennessee Kansas City Washington Realigned the divisions to a more geographic approach. Here is my thought process for some of the radical changes. Fun fact, Dallas started in the Western Conference during their first season in 1960. They've been in the East since 1961! Figured keeping them against the 49ers would be great nostalgia, and certainly not an easy division to win. Regarding the AFC East, needed to keep the Patriots/Jets rivalry alive along with the Bills. Introducing the Steelers to this division would make it a gauntlet for any team to come out on top each season. As for the NFC East, I like the "I-95" corridor approach as the teams are easily accessible by the interstate. For the AFC/NFC South divisions, the alignment could have gone in many different directions, but I settled on teams that were in close proximity to each other. It would be cool to see all the division rivalries develop over time. The biggest surprises would be moving Kansas City to the NFC and Detroit to the AFC, as a change of scenery may help the Lions thrive and the Chiefs given more challenging competition in their division (except for maybe the Bears).
  14. Not all of us! Here's hoping Snyder keeps the team for several more seasons. Love seeing the franchise driven to the ground!
  15. All four teams should change their colors. The less RWB teams in MLB the better.
  16. The proposed WC or UCL style format would further devalue the regular season. I can't see players interested playing several more playoff matches on top of the regular season and any USOC/CC or Concacaf Champions League matches. Plus, MLS and Liga MX are taking one month off next season for the League Cup, which is already a WC-style competition.
  17. Agreed. Also the ad patch placement is horrible!
  18. Happy to see the Giants off to a 5-1 record after upsetting the opposition after back to back Sundays. I wasn't sure what Coach Daboll was bringing to the table and have been skeptical to their approach so far this season. Glad things have worked out so far!
  19. The Colorado Avalanche are the defending champs. The official puck drop starts today with San Jose vs. Nashville in Prague, Czechia. There were many noticeable moves this past offseason covered in the offseason thread. Ovechkin is 22 goals away from catching Gordie Howe for 2nd all-time in regular season goals. (Of course, I'd mention the Caps). Who's bringing home the Cup this season?
  20. Sammy Sosa isn't even in the Cubs' Hall of Fame! Clearly, there's more to it than just stats with Sosa. Maybe he wasn't a good teammate?
  21. You're right, it wouldn't have been a problem. The 2020 season ended with 14 Clubs in the East and 12 Clubs in the West.
  22. I am glad the media is hyping up Aaron Judge's homerun chase towards the end of the season. Not sure when the next time we will see anyone hit more than 60 homeruns in a season. I hope the media hypes of that future player as well regardless of which team they're on.
