Lookin' sharp...gonan feel like a legit ballpark now!
Hopefully, as a gesture of goodwill towards the fans, it can be rebranded as the Rogers Skydome now.And then, bring back Domer

If those renovations do take place, the Skydome will be a baseball only facility going forward?
It already became a baseball only facility once the Argos moved out and they put in a dirt infield

No, still the fake stuff.

Looks like SkyDome is getting a makeover.

The "original six" is such a misleading term anyways. I am surprised nobody wants to cosplay as the Montreal Maroons or Quebec Bulldogs.

70,000 capacity is reasonable. Sofi Stadium's capacity is around 70,000 as well. Many of the NFL stadiums have a capacity between 60-70 k.

To PNW is Oregon and Washington state.... that's all I need to say on that

Not a fan of Angel, but he got that call correct. Machado swung. Once you swing, there's no such thing as being hit by the pitch.
"Besides, that pitch was a strike."
- "Ángel"
DJ Reyburn was the home plate umpire. He was the one who pointed to first to check if Machado swung. So any props should go to him.

So a Chicago team wearing an orange helmet and a once Chicago team wearing a black helmet and I am sniffing glue....

God, beating the Yankees and then seeing their fans go into meltdown mode claiming they immediately need to trade for 4 players or the team is going nowhere just never gets old.
I am sure God likes to hear that.

First time I'm seeing the standings for the league and after all the talk about the Yankees and them setting history, they have the Astros not far behind them. The rest of the AL isn't anywhere near close to them, yet we have up to five (six?) teams competing for those Wild Card spots. At least one of them are gonna trip over themselves and give it away.
The NL doesn't look much different from the last few years.
I am much more fascinated by how the Angels have been doing since May 15th when they were tied for first at 24-13... with tonight's loss, they are 39-55, (and 2-14 this month). 15-42 since May 15th is even worse than the A's or Nationals during that span.

The Columbus rounded logo is fine. I would suggest turn the outer line 90-deg to make it look like a 'C'

So both Calgary and Florida lost in the 2nd round to their interstate/provincial rival and decided to make a trade with each other.

I mean... yikes!

Please show us one contemporaneous quote validating that statement.
Whatever it is, the counterpoint is the Mets.
Really, it is true three teams in NYC may be too many, but two NL teams on their own couldn't survive. They just decided to move at the same time.

God had nothing to do with that.
God should be helping the Angels... but he found out who owns the team....

As long as the Giants are around, they are the Dodgers biggest rival. No other team comes close.

I mean, he's still 7-8 hours away from home by car; and yeah he could fly there, but he could fly there from anywhere and it'd be about the same.
Having a night to think about it, I actually have a theory for how this came about, based on everything I've read & pieced together:
-He wanted to go to Philadelphia, more than anywhere else it sounds like, but then the DeAngelo trade last week maxed out their cap and apparently GM Fletcher felt moving some pieces around to make him fit would've been too hard, so they didn't even make an offer.
-He wanted to go home to New Jersey, but they supposedly gave him what he may have felt like a lowball offer, especially when his original asking price was allegedly in the $12M(!) range;
-He might have wanted to go to the Islanders, but they may have ran into either of those same exact problems; not enough cap space and/or a lowball offer.
-He couldn't go back to Calgary without having to eat some crow, because he'd already told them he wasn't coming back & presumably he wouldn't want to look like he was crawling back with his tail between his legs (even though Evgeni Malkin did exactly that a day prior).
So with all that in mind, maybe all his grand plans to go home fell apart and he simply decided "Columbus offered me the most money, and they're sorta-kinda close to home... eh, it".
I mean, it at least makes it make sense to me...All of that may be true. Who knows? In three years, Gaudreau might seek a trade to any one of those teams if any of their situations improve.

The big free agent choosing to go to Columbus is a Thing That’s Not Supposed to Happen, which is both really cool and means that a bunch of people from Real Hockey Towns are big mad on the internet. I’m excited and maybe I’ll pick up the phone the next time a Blue Jackets ticket rep calls!
I'm from a so-called "Real Hockey" market, and if a bunch of them are angry, then so be it. (I get a little pleasure out of it) That's probably a consequence of a hard cap system and a market that may had to overpay to get certain talent.
