  1. I got one for Christmas and it's not as bad as it originally seemed. It's grown on me and it's actually not bad for what it is.
  2. You prefer to see a league with certain numbers with an unbalanced schedule than to have a well-fit quantity of teams per division with a well-balanced schedule? Damn! But I won't blame you for that because it's your opinion, after all.I agree with admiral. There isn't really room for more teams in Alberta, I was grasping at straws for suitable places in Alberta and the N.W.The unbalanced schedule will always happen because the uneven divisions and some of the Eastern teams only play the US teams once a year because of travel. I just moved Kootenay because it evens up the conferences and reduces Kootenay's travel because they're with their province.
  3. Love your idea monkeypower. Obviously, Kootenay is a team from the B.C. area. But it would be more well-balanced if two expansion teams would join in to have a total of 24 in the WHL. Maybe one team from Alberta to replace Kootenay's previous spot and another one from the U.S. Pacific Northwest. For Alberta, I would guess Fort Saskatchewan, Drumheller and Fort McMurray (even though those two have pretty successful AJHL teams) would be the best ideas. The WHL could try Billings again and it being in Montana would fit in with the Alberta teams. Just going off Wikipedia population numbers, the Northwest team could be Tacoma (they had a team before), or Bellevue but I don't know much about that area of the States.
  4. Right now in the WHL there are 22 teams, 10 in the West and 12 in the East. The prairie teams are in the East, while the American teams and the B.C. teams are in the West... besides Kootenay. The divisional are all set up provincially (the East is Saskatchewan and Manitoba) and American, with Kootenay stuck with the Alberta teams. Right now the conferences and divisions are set up like so: Eastern Conference East Division Central Division Brandon Calgary Moose Jaw Edmonton Prince Albert Kootenay Regina Lethbridge Saskatoon Medicine Hat Swift Current Red Deer Western Conference B.C. Division American Division Kamloops Everett Kelowna Portland Prince George Seattle Vancouver Spokane Victoria Tri-City What I would do is move Kootenay over to the B.C. Division to even out the conferences and then rename the Eastern Conference divisions, so there's no more East Division of the Eastern Conference. Eastern Conference Prairie Division Alberta Division Brandon Calgary Moose Jaw Edmonton Prince Albert Lethbridge Regina Medicine Hat Saskatoon Red Deer Swift Current Western Conference B.C. Division American Division Kamloops Everett Kelowna Portland Kootenay Seattle Prince George Spokane Vancouver Tri-City Victoria
  5. There's no point in having an outdoor game in a domed stadium. The Heritage Classic this year is in a dome with a partially retractable roof.
  6. The Coyotes want to hold an outdoor game. http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/eye-on-hockey/24370128/nhl-rumors-phoenix-coyotes-prepared-to-host-an-outdoor-game They don't even has to use the football field, they can just use the vast parking spaces around the arena/mall.
  7. I've seen worse. They used to have a thing where you get 2 free tickets when you buy a $20 bottle of Absolute or Stoli or something from Fry's (a local grocery store). maybe but that's $24.75 for a NHL ticket, a hot dog and Pepsi per person to see the current Stanley Cup champs play. I spent more than that to take my wife to see Phantom of the Opera for her birthday years ago. ... on a Saturday night, no less. Those should be the easy tickets to sell. If they have trouble selling a Saturday game against the defending Cup champions, how in blue hell do they promote a Tuesday game in March against the Florida Panthers? If this water fountain constitutes a "lake" in Arizona, what constitutes an "ocean?"
  8. How are they going to do it though? Jiggy and Teemu played for the Mighty and non-Mighty Ducks. I personally wouldn't care whatever team they were retired for (even though it will probably be the Ducks) as long as they don't go back and retire Herbert or Salei or *gasp* Kariya or whoever as non-Mighty Ducks.
  9. It works out so that the Mighty Ducks one is the only one that is out of place, but my anal nature does not like it at all. I don't mind the orange one for the Stanley Cup and the black for everything else, as long as they keep it consistent.
  10. October Attendance figures http://nhltoseattle.com/2013/11/04/october-nhl-attendance/
  11. I think the reason for this is because hockey jerseys are the largest, so there is more room to do interesting stripes and patterns on them.I think it's also because it has the most room for creativity. There are only so many variations on baseball jerseys. There's going to be a script or a chest logo, maybe a number on the front or not, a sleeve logo or not.Basketball's the same. You're usually going to get a script with a number underneath it.
  12. MOD EDIT Back on topic, I like the Angels red on red jersey
  13. Does anybody have the Mighty Ducks Reebook template from the throwback game?
  14. I like it. I'm all for minor league teams being out there with their names and logos. I'll definitely try to pick up a hat from these guys and the Chihuahuas to add to my minor league collection.
  15. I don't know how unpopular this is, but I like the Blues with red in their colour scheme. Not like the Mighty Ducks style jersey from the late 90's though, just as an accent colour. I think this is their best look
  16. I'd argue that the California teams are doing well, even though San Jose isn't really a southern team, besides the Ducks posting losses.
  17. Maybe you're missing a black script jersey from your life?
  18. They proved hockey belonged in the desert... ...Just don't ask them how or when.
  19. The NBA team in Tampa will be called the Pirates? And then there's the 49ers and the Miners in the same division, when there names mean pretty much the same thing, and the Toronto Buffalo?
  20. Concepts are for sports esthetic related things that people create and want to show off (logos, jerseys, stadiums, rebrands etc.) General Design is basically the Sports Logos section but for non-sports related designs. It's not a place to post your own work, but rather a place to discuss non-sports related designs.
  21. How I imagine most of Arizona feels about the Coyotes staying
  22. Which part. Can you be more specific? I think he means all the shenanigans happening tonight. EDIT:Ice_Cap beat me to it.
  23. Not possible. The hypothetical arena is being built by the guys trying to bring the NBA to Seattle. Hockey is always going to be a secondary consideration even with a team at Key Arena. That said a secondary consideration Coyotes in Seattle are better than the no consideration Coyotes in Glendale. No, not really. I'd rather the NHL not be a catspaw for some effort to secure a basketball team. You say that like the NHL hadn't sacrificed its dignity long ago. At what point in the space time continuum has the NHL ever had some dignity to begin with? They cancelled the Stanley Cup final in 1919 because of the Spanish flu pandemic... that was classy of them. Only because players were affected and it was a simpler time. HRR wasn't invented yet.
