  1. Does it? And apparently you can't quote a quote anymore. This post here is quoting a See Red post which quoted a sportstar post, but you can't see the sportstar post in this post. I would like that fixed as another forum I'm somewhat on does that and it's hard to read comment threads.
  2. I don't like it. And it beeps at me whenever someone replies in the thread.
  3. The WMBL (summer collegiate league in Alberta and Saskatchewan) is adding two new teams, the Brooks Bombers and the Fort McMurray Giants.
  4. So this is from a guy on Reddit, take that as you will. Coach John Gruden?
  5. That's just wow. I don't even know what the CHL and the OHL will do. I don't think there's precedent for an entire team walking out.
  6. I'm a pretty sure I could write a storyboard for an SVU episode now, but I'm not sure about if there ever will be an episode about this though. Not that Dick Wolf hasn't done other ripped from the headlines before and higher profile ones before, but this one could be closer to home for them.
  7. After what became of this whole situation, was there any other way this could have ended? This whole thing was a mess and now there isn't really closure for some people. They are still going to think he did it and others are still going to think she's trying to take his money.
  8. That's the same parents dad from last year, but they've got a new family. All must not be well in Stick Person Raleigh.
  9. That's pretty cool. I like the adoption of mascots. Youppi! with the Canadians and Sparky who used to be the with Islanders.
  10. I will admit they don't look as bad to me as they did when they were unveiled, but it does look like a mishmash of jerseys and it's not good. Especially the home one, the black stripe gets lost on the socks.
  11. We've done these threads before but they're always interesting to read, at least to me. Anaheim Ducks: I used to watch the old Disney cartoon. I must have been aware of the connection between the cartoon and the actual team, but my parents definitely were as there are a pictures of me when I was young wearing Mighty Ducks clothing and the old white alternate jersey. I got the home and away Mighty Ducks jerseys (which I still have to this day) in what must have been the early 2000's. I remember making some sort of comment about how the jerseys I got didn't have the shoulder patches on them, so they must have been the older jerseys. I guess I was destined to end up on these boards from an early age. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, California: Picked when I was younger because they are the local team to the Ducks. New York Jets: I got a Jets shirt when I was younger during the late Testaverde - early Pennington era as a gift for some reason I don't remember and it just took off (pun intended) from there. My earliest NFL memory I can remember is the 2002 AFC Wild Card game when the Jets lost to the Raiders. Calgary Stampeders: Local team Calgary Hitmen: Local team Orlando Magic: My NBA interest has come and gone throughout the years, usually with a different "favorite" team. It came back a couple years ago when my friend and his brother got into the NBA/Raptors and I kind of joined in, but never held firmly on to a team. After some relatively recent research (read: playing NBA 2K15 and the Backyard Basketball with Tim Duncan on the cover for PS2) I've picked the Magic, mostly because I like the colours, jerseys and the 2000's logo. Also because I find it kind of funny/aubsurd saying I'm a Magic fan because why would someone pick the Magic, especially someone who was born 4500 kms away. UCLA Bruins: Because of the proximity to the Ducks and Angels. As you can tell, local, schmocal for me and also that I must have been an impressionable kid.
  12. The past week or so if I press the 'previous' button or the button on the top of the screen that takes you back to the previous forum section on mobile, it just goes back to the first page of the thread I'm in.
  13. I was going to say this is probably the worst outcome for everybody. I sincerely wonder if we're going to see this on an episode of Law and Order: SVU soon.
  14. I've read evidence from crime scenes is put in paper bags, not plastic/sandwich bags like they do on TV and movies. So it might not be as weird as it seems. I could be wrong about the evidence though.
  15. I don't know if this is unpopular or even should be posted in this thread but...I think there needs to be a good train identity somewhere in sport. I know Purdue has one, but it seems to me they have switched more to the P logo instead of the train and there's the Syracuse Chiefs AAA team. But I just think a very good team identity and logos can be based around trains.
  16. I don't understand why they couldn't just go straight MiLB where it's seperate regional leagues, who all play the same amount of games and then come together for the finals.
  17. The falling Canadian dollar mostly and then the owner didn't get a bailout from the Quebec government.
  18. You're forgetting about shoo-in's Shane Doan and Mike Smith. First ballot's all the way.
  19. So who gets the CCSLC vote of support? The Coyotes or Glendale? Or do we just watch this burn down?
  20. Obviously it would never happen but I feel if there was a Hawaii hockey team, they could have a really cool identity.
  21. I think I did something to the Sports Logos section. I was posting something in phone and I lost connection to the site (which seems to happen all the time at around 11:00-11:30 pm MST for me in phone). The post was put in the Ducks 2007 rebrand thread, but the thread wasn't bumped and it doesn't show that my post was the last one on the Sports Logos section screen. Edit: It appears to have fixed itself now that other people have posted in the thread.
  22. Former Islanders "owner" pleads guilty to forgery charges. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/man-scammed-nhl-pleads-guilty-forgery-charges-ohio-140613921--nhl.html
