  1. I'm going to presume it's because it's a new post on an already made topic. It didn't warrant it's own thread.
  2. Big unpopular opinion here, I actually don't mind the look of sleeved NBA jerseys provided it's a good looking jersey design for the team.
  3. I said it earlier, I don't think most people know about Vinnie and the goings-on with ownership and the government. All they see is low attendance and think that the team just has to be good. Well I don't think the Panthers will ever be good in the current situation. I've also seen a thing where the Panthers attendance right now was compared to the Blackhawks circa Dollar Bill, so it's not all bad Panthers. Even the Blackhawks had bad attendance. Yeah, no.
  4. I feel that there are a lot people who are (willfully maybe) ignorant about the true plights of the Coyotes and the Panthers and the back stories of how it's not just the attendance. Heck, I probably would be if it wasn't for this thread and the admiral's newspaper sleuthing. But the Florida Panther and the Arizona Coyote have both been upgraded to Critically Endangered by the IUCN.
  5. https://twitter.com/FlaPanthers/status/521851638026219520 This is kind of sad.
  6. We should have a CCSLC meetup at a Panthers home game. Maybe give them their highest attendance of the season. Edit: Panthers-Coyotes in Florida, October 30th. http://www.stubhub.com/florida-panthers-tickets/florida-panthers-sunrise-bb-t-center-10-30-2014-9076019/ Whoooooooooooo!
  7. For reference, the Red Deer-Moose Jaw WHL game on the same date in Moose Jaw (population: 32,132) had an attendance of 3044.
  8. And even then, it's the whole province. Once a week games means that people here in Saskatoon and the other towns can drive up to Regina and watch the game.A hockey team that has to fill 41+ dates each year isn't going to work in Saskatchewan.
  9. The Saskatoon arena is in a weird spot too if you're coming from the city. It's almost outside city limits and it's between two highways leading out of the city so you have to pass the arena and then backtrack on a side road. And one of highways makes it so you have to cross the other side of the highway and then backtrack.
  10. Saskatoon??????????? http://www.thestarphoenix.com/sports/Saskatoon+strongest+Canadian+market+option+expansion+Graham+says/10244346/story.html
  11. I occasionally lurk on reddit and here's a passionate post from a Panthers fan who is fed up with his team being talked about in relocation talks. http://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/comments/2hl1wk/as_a_panthers_fan_ive_got_a_rant_to_get_off_my/ Looking at the comments, it's somewhat amazing how many people don't understand the business side of the Panthers. I mean not everybody has the pleasure of being on the CCSLC and reading this thread, but some people.......
  12. Does anybody have a good baseball template?
  13. Is there like some list of member's IP address' that you constantly check up on or is whenever there's a new member, you just see if it matches another one?
  14. For the admiral: Shane Doan was voted the greatest Coyote in team history in an NBC Sports poll, beating out Jeremy Roenick and Keith Tkachuk. http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2014/08/10/fanspeak-doan-voted-greatest-coyote-in-franchise-history/
  15. You could look at the California teams. I only really know the Ducks, but they work. The Honda Center is located in Anaheim and the intial interest has worn off, but they still do alright attendance wise and have a good fanbase. On the other hand you can't really compare the Anaheim/Orange County city sprawl to the Glendale/Phoenix area.
  16. I don't know how unpopular this is, but I don't like it when baseball teams (and CFL now) have different hats (helmets) for home and away. I feel it dilutes the brand and in some cases takes away from the better look. There's no reason these shouldn't be worn all the time. I'm fine with having an alternate look, but keep the home and away the same.
  17. Yeah, I had it too. I also tried to get onto the website through a friends computer, who's had an account nor heard of the site, and it said the account was suspended. So I think it has/had something to do with the site, not the accounts.
  18. From my website: Thank you.
  19. Does anybody have the Flames new third jersey template?
  20. Re: BigBubba The Flames have screwed up banners and I don't know if any other team does this. They have retired Lanny McDonald's and Mike Vernon's "normally". Which means the whole banner with the name, number and years played and the number is taken out of circulation. Then they started the "Forever a Flame" thing where they honour the number and the player, but the number isn't going to be taken out of circulation. So they have retired McDonald's #9 and Vernon's #30 while they are honouring MacInnis' #2 and Nieuwendyk's #25. 2 and 25 are able to be worn by a player, but I don't think they will anytime soon. I don't know if they felt like MacInnis and Nieuwendyk weren't worthy enough as Flames to be fully retired but what happens when Iginla retires? Are they going to make him "Forever a Flame" or are the going to retire his number and have two tiers of recognition? I know that not fully retiring MacInnis' and Nieuwendyk's jerseys isn't sitting well with a lot of fans who were around during the Flames heyday with those two.
  21. NHL Anaheim Ducks: The Mighty Ducks cartoon was one of my favorite cartoons when I was very young and I still have some episodes recorded on VHS at my house. I don't know if I ever made the connection that it was based on an actual hockey team at that age but my parents did because I have a bunch of Mighty Ducks toddler and children clothes. I've somewhat bounced around fandoms throughout my childhood (Flames when they went to the finals and everybody else in Calgary was a fan, Avalanche because I liked the jerseys and Paul Kariya had moved to them and whatever teams logos I liked) but I always liked the Ducks and am now just strictly a Ducks fan. MLB Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim: When I started watching baseball I was a Ducks fan so I became a fan of the baseball team in Anaheim. I remember being a fan of them when they won the World Series in 2002. Like in my hockey fandom, I bounced around a few teams usually based on whatever Little League team I played for or whatever logo I liked when I was playing Backyard Baseball on the PS2. Again like the Ducks, I am now strictly an Angels fan. Just to add on the Anaheim theme, I'm also a big Disneyland fan so maybe I'm from Anaheim in spirit or something. NFL New York Jets: My mom went to New York City when I was young and got me a Jets t-shirt and it went from there. I kind of fell off of the NFL wagon in the last few seasons though and don't watch it as much as I did before. NBAUtah Jazz: I've just started somewhat following the NBA due to one of my friends being a big basketball fan and I was looking for a team to become a fan of so I picked the Jazz. I like the current J musical note logo and I like the late 90's early 00's jerseys. CFL Calgary Stampeders: Hometown team. CHL/WHL Calgary Hitmen: Hometown team. NCAA UCLA Bruins: Looking for a NCAA team to follow and I picked UCLA because of the Ducks and Angels. Hawaii Warriors/Rainbow Warriors: Got clothes gifted to me from there and I went to Hawaii a couple years ago and got more stuff. NLL Calgary Roughnecks: Hometown team. Most of my favorite teams are due to me being an impressionable child I guess.
